There was a game I played as a child which was about an action hero type guy who kind of wandered around shooting things. It was a top down game with zones, and your weapons were based on the zone. The first one was ice aged theme and you chucked rocks to kill things and get the keys to the next zone, the second zone was candy based and you threw cakes, etc.
