Doom of Daggerdale 3.5 (OOC)
This is the OOC post for my Doom of Daggerdale PbP game.
Characters:
I will be using bold for NPC dialog. Please claim colors of your own.
-
Re: Doom of Daggerdale 3.5 (OOC)
Hello everyone I'm looking forward to playing with each of you. I would like to claim this color for Delmuth.
-
Re: Doom of Daggerdale 3.5 (OOC)
Awesome, thanks for choosing me.
I'll claim dark red as is my fav.
From the Recruitment thread:
Quote:
As the adventure begins, the party has accepted a commission from a merchant in Cormyr, Brie Redwood, to check up on her brother, Ian. She has not heard from him in more than two months, and knows that Daggerdale is a dangerous place these days. Brie has offered the party 250 gold pieces apiece to find Ian, with the promise of a bonus if he's in trouble and they assist him.
Ian is a brewer who lives in the town of Dagger Falls. He is one of the few residents of the Dale in a position to export goods, though Brie mostly purchases his ale and cider in order to support him.
The party accepted Brie's offer and is traveling to Dagger Falls when the adventure begins.

You're pretty sure they're alone, it looks like this was a patrol that stopped a bit in the clearing. They're alert, but didn't take the time to set up a trap.

Re: Doom of Daggerdale 3.5 (OOC)
Ganzaya claims this shade of red!
-
Re: Doom of Daggerdale 3.5 (OOC)
Thanks for the selection, and I see some familiar faces.
Udro will speak in this falmboyant shade of Gold
-
Re: Doom of Daggerdale 3.5 (OOC)
Faurgar, who is currently trying to find a suitable replacement for one of his feats, will speak in navy blue. I'll be joining the IC thread very soon.

Re: Doom of Daggerdale 3.5 (OOC)
Heh, this is turning out to be a fun group!

We definitely seem to have a lot of synergy as players and characters so far. I'm interested to see what happens next. Most groups I have ever played with either go to combat right away or try to use their max diplomacy/bluff/ intimidate to deal with this kind of situation. Instead we are all kinda just like "listen buddy wrong group. Move along and we are cool. Stay in our way, what happens after is your choice. It's a nice change of pace from strictly murder hobo.

Hahah, that’s so on point! And I totally agree, loving it

Re: Doom of Daggerdale 3.5 (OOC)
I do appreciate a good tough-guy one-liner. Or a bad one-liner, enthusiastically delivered.
Going to wait a bit more to give Faurgar or Nanes-Il a chance to chime in. Events will progress tomorrow night.

Diplomacy is the dumbest skill in dnd. But right now this is scene is West Side Story vibe.

Re: Doom of Daggerdale 3.5 (OOC)
I just loved the idea of useless Bad Dad Jokes with Ganzaya rather than the usual grim Conanesque barbarian.

Re: Doom of Daggerdale 3.5 (OOC)
I'll let Delmuth move towards a tree, but otherwise I'd say no readied actions. Both sides are already getting ready for a fight.
If one side was hidden, I'd let them ready actions and the readied actions would go off in place of a surprise round.

Yesss. I already like this group, too. It's nice to see the first set of rolls having to do with situational awareness.
Nanes-Il's definitely calibrated for "Advanced Parlance"... If Skills don't work, then charm person will! Or, sleep or scare. If people don't listen or won't fall asleep, then she gets angry, and then they start to feel funny, or zappy.
ADDENDUM: If we survive this mouth-off, the next spell or so in her repertoire will be suggestion, for sure.

I'm here for it!

Re: Doom of Daggerdale 3.5 (OOC)
Late for the party, but my IC post is now up.
I suppose Faurgar's words could technically count as an Intimidate attempt if @spectralphoenix thinks there's any chance of the bad guys being intimidated by random vagabonds. If so, feel free to roll for it.

Re: Doom of Daggerdale 3.5 (OOC)
"Prepare to meet the hood" is the most badass thing I've read all day!

Sorry, they'd already made up their minds.
