Wild speculation on Blackwing
This is just something fun I've been considering. There has been some debate on these forums regarding the Order's inability to see Blackwing. Running gag or something more...it's hard to say. IMO I this feels more plot related rather than just a gag.
Regardless of any of that, my question here is this: What is the likelihood, if any, that Blackwing could possibly be Qarr?
There are some arguments that could be made that may very well explain the current Blackwing situation.
1. As an imp, Qarr has the ability to assume an alternate form, one of which is a raven.
2. Qarr also has the ability to turn invisible, which could explain why the Order cannot see Blackwing.
3. To my recollection, Blackwing never spoke much Common, if at all, prior to 672. Now all of a sudden, he is talking V's ear off? Plus, in 672, to me, it looks as if Blackwing appears on his own accord...not at V's beckoning. Just seems fishy to me.
4. Also, it would make sense for the IFCC to have a more direct link to V and to the Order's involvement with the Gates.
Anyway, just something fun to think about. Thoughts/criticism?
Re: Wild speculation on Blackwing
If Blackwing is truly invisible, why can V see him (her?)? No, this is a continuation of a long-time running gag.
Re: Wild speculation on Blackwing
Can Qarr be in two place at once?
Re: Wild speculation on Blackwing
As far as V being able to see Blackwing/Qarr, my guess would be that Qarr would allow himself to be visible to V, but not the Order.
Yes, Qarr cannot be in two places at once, but my guess is on the assumption that Qarr assumes the Blackwing guise in 672...well after that particular comic.
Re: Wild speculation on Blackwing
Then how is Qarr able to tell V about what Blackwing saw inside the rift?

Did you read 672? "No, I said speaking to YOU in Common was demeaning. Try not to remind me why." Ravens can speak humanoid tongues, Blackwing just didn't like V enough to bother. Now he's decided to help his master become a marginally better person...and why would Qarr go out of his way to counsel Vaarsuvius against violence? Also, V was the one who initiated the conversation there, not the other way around; s/he certainly didn't seem surprised when Blackwing materialized.

That's easy. He lied. But the whole thing still doesn't fly. (Hah!)

Invisibility doesn't work that way. It prevents everybody from seeing you, regardless of what you actually want.
Re: Wild speculation on Blackwing
The facts are all against the Qarr theory, but what if Blackwing is a member of the Original Soon, Girard, Serini, etc party?

No evidence, I just wanted to throw more logs into the fire hehehehehe
Re: Wild speculation on Blackwing
V used True Seeing. He would have seen the disguise. :smallamused:

Then he'd be the victim of a very badly failed reincarnation spell.
Re: Wild speculation on Blackwing
Also the Order can SEE Blackwing, they just don't believe the Familiar story, they think its an illusion.
Re: Wild speculation on Blackwing
I was wondering if that was going to happen a while ago. I didn't notice that quarr and blackwing had been seen together, but blackwings comments had been urging V to be a BETTER person, hardly the work of an imp.

Pretty much this.
Thus some of the 'facts' that you list are stretch (Invisibility, knowing details about his/her relationship with Kyrie, etc.)

Yeah, this. I'm not sure why so many people assume the Order can't see him; Belkar is the only one to have said that. And that's just a joke about his inability to pass Spot checks.

I'm really the only Oracle-Anti-Fan here?
I'm the only who really wants him to be eaten alive by the Sharlakk?

I think you might have the wrong thread, squire. Nobody's mentioned the Oracle.
You'd get along great with Assassin89.

Haley named Blackwing; it is just a joke on how PC's never pay attention to familiars until one is brought to attention; and if V forgets his own familiar, the rest of the Order certainly would.

I wonder if V will be the cause of Belkar's death after Mr Scruffy eats Blackwing...

I agree, this seems 100% what it was to me. They just weren't used to remembering him, and then he suddenly appears?
Re: Wild speculation on Blackwing
Blackwing is secretly Peter Pettigrew.
Re: Wild speculation on Blackwing
How could he be Qarr? Does V not have an empathetic link to him, so s/he would know if it was blackwing.
