Neverending Dungeon - Immortalus (Ed-Zero)
The air surrounding you fairly hums with the residue of magic, an aftereffect of the spell that brought you to this place. A quick glance reveals that you are in a small room, devoid of any life save for yourself. The sound of dripping water can be heard faintly, and the stone walls are slick with moisture. In complete defiance of logic, a torch is already lit, resting in a sconce near the room's single door.

Re: Neverending Dungeon - Immortalus (Ed-Zero)
Alright, my standard operating procedure is pretty simple:
I will always follow the right wall of the dungeon while tapping the square in front of me with my collapsible pole until I hit a door or see a monster. If it's a monster, I'll draw my weapon and attack. If it's a door, I will tap the door and if nothing goes off, I will open it.
Now then, I'll head over to the door, if I see nothing down what might be a hallway, then I will continue following the right wall until I see another door or a monster (aka: my standard procedure)

Re: Neverending Dungeon - Immortalus (Ed-Zero)
Any unusual vision modes?
-
Re: Neverending Dungeon - Immortalus (Ed-Zero)
Just the Diadem of Purelight soulmeld. It gives me a hands-free torch that increases in radius with the more essentia put in (right now, it's at zero essentia so it acts as a torch). No Darkvision or Low-Light Vision sadly

Re: Neverending Dungeon - Immortalus (Ed-Zero)
Opening the door reveals a corridor to the south.
After 5', there's a split east.
After 25', there's a split east.
After 35', the corridor ends in a T-junction.
The corridor is 5' wide, and unlit.
-
Re: Neverending Dungeon - Immortalus (Ed-Zero)
Sorry about not responding sooner, my internet went down yesterday.
At the T-Junction I will follow it to the right (which I am assuming is west) then continue my search for a door/monster being ready to attack the first thing in sight that poses a threat.
-
Re: Neverending Dungeon - Immortalus (Ed-Zero)
partway down the corridor, a splash of acid appears in the square you tapped, and flies at you.
[roll0] vs touch for [roll1] acid damage.
-
Re: Neverending Dungeon - Immortalus (Ed-Zero)
Okay, that easily hits my touch. I take the 3 and continue to move on. At 10 hp now.
-
Re: Neverending Dungeon - Immortalus (Ed-Zero)
There's a door north after 20', with a bullseye on the floor outside it.
-
Re: Neverending Dungeon - Immortalus (Ed-Zero)
I will continue on and tap the door, if nothing happens, I will try to avoid the bullseye and open up the door by standing adjacent to the square next to it (if there is one, if not, I will stand on the bullseye and open the door). Immediately after opening the door (unless I stand on the bullseye and something happens to me), I will switch to my weapon and be on guard).

Opening the door reveals the following room:Spoiler

There is a door at A-2, another at E-4, south side and another at E-3. There is a human wearing a chain shirt and holding a longsword standing behind a beast with patchy dark fur that covers its unhealthy shrunken black skin in some places. Open sores dot its hide and a feral, catlike head glances with it's blank eyes at the wall in front of it.

Re: Neverending Dungeon - Immortalus (Ed-Zero)
Alright. When I see what's before me in the room, I'll draw my sword and get ready.
[roll0]
If this wins, I will advance and try to hit the beast since it has been placed closer to me.
[roll1]
and if it hits:

Re: Neverending Dungeon - Immortalus (Ed-Zero)
The human steps to D3, and fires a ray of cold.
[roll0] vs flatfooted touch for [roll1] cold damage.
The creature vanishes.
-
Re: Neverending Dungeon - Immortalus (Ed-Zero)
He misses my flat-footed touch. I'll step forward and strike him since the beast vanished.
[roll0]
if it hits then,
[roll1]
and heal 5 points of damage (10 -> 13).
I also just realized that I forgot to roll for maneuvers but its okay as I don't think I'll be needing them this fight.

Re: Neverending Dungeon - Immortalus (Ed-Zero)
He steps back 5', then fires a wave of rainbow at you.
Will save or you're unconscious, blinded, and stunned for [roll0] rounds, stunned and blinded for [roll1] rounds, and stunned for 1 round.

Here we go. If I die right here, I will probably retool a feat or two.

Re: Neverending Dungeon - Immortalus (Ed-Zero)
Yep, that'll be it. Great will save ftw. I'll come back in a day or two with the edited version if I'm able to start again.
-
Re: Neverending Dungeon - Immortalus (Ed-Zero)
Yup, just post here and I'll check you myself.
-
Re: Neverending Dungeon - Immortalus (Ed-Zero)
Most likely it will have to wait until next week due to this week and next being my finals. I just won't have time right now to do this. I'll post up towards the end of next week.
-
Re: Neverending Dungeon - Immortalus (Ed-Zero)
Alright, awaiting Round 2 now.
-
Re: Neverending Dungeon - Immortalus (Ed-Zero)
Same starting room, different person. Better luck this time.
-
Re: Neverending Dungeon - Immortalus (Ed-Zero)
Is there going to be the same type of intro or should I just start? Also, do I need to link my new sheet or will you?
-
Re: Neverending Dungeon - Immortalus (Ed-Zero)
I could do, but we appear to be on the first page still, so it's hardly worth it. :smalltongue:
I'll edit it into the first post.
-
Re: Neverending Dungeon - Immortalus (Ed-Zero)
Okay, new standard operating procedure.
Standard Operation Procedure:
I will always follow the right wall of the dungeon while tapping the square in front of me with my collapsible pole until I hit a door or see a monster. As I walk, I will have the shadow sibling under the square in front of me telepathically communicating with me if it sees a trap or any mechanism. If I see a monster, I'll drop the pole and get ready to fight. If it's a door, I will send my shadow sibling just into the door to see if it's trapped (aka: look for anything mechanical all around the door without going completely through the wall), then I will tap the door and if nothing goes off, I will open it.
I will be going by this, it should lead me to a locked door.
-
Re: Neverending Dungeon - Immortalus (Ed-Zero)
After walking to the south for a while, you get hit by a blob of acid from the square you touched ahead of you.
[roll0] touch attack vs flatfooted for [roll1] acid.
-
Re: Neverending Dungeon - Immortalus (Ed-Zero)
so my shadow sibling saw nothing mechanical in the square in front of me then? Must've been a magical acid spewing trap then. I will mark down the square with my chalk and I'll take my 2 and continue on with animal companion in tow.
-
Re: Neverending Dungeon - Immortalus (Ed-Zero)
No mechanical stuff, no.
Any changes to standard procedure?
-
Re: Neverending Dungeon - Immortalus (Ed-Zero)
Just that the sibling would scout first before I tap the pole, just to make sure. Then continue on my way following the right.
