At the very least, it comes in handy for the celebrations once the problems are dealt with.
In all seriousness, it is little things- holding hands, idle hands on the shoulder, kisses for no real meaning beyond why not- that actually make up a lot of the warmth in a relationship. Or so I've found.

Re: Ménage à 3 III: 47 Seconds Later
In some ways, I am liking Yuki's development.
-
Re: Ménage à 3 III: 47 Seconds Later
Okay, I kind of like this page, but... I'm having a really hard time following the flow of conversation here. I just know Yuki seemed to completely change stance in the middle somewhere.
-
Re: Ménage à 3 III: 47 Seconds Later
Hmmmm....Yuki seems to be getting more self control or maybe it's just Gary's voice that brought her back to reality after The Leviathan woke up under her.
-
Re: Ménage à 3 III: 47 Seconds Later
I'm getting somewhat of a minefield impression here. Possibly Gary disarming a hot bomb, which happens to have his Leviathan as a trigger. :smallamused:
(That metaphor might be stretching a bit.)

Re: Ménage à 3 III: 47 Seconds Later
It's the Leviathan now? I wasn't aware we had any foreknowledge of Gary's.....proportions, only his Swirly Skills.

Well, my thinking was something along these lines:
* Didi has commented on its size - the whole "Star Power" thing
* Yuki sees it as a tentacle
* A huge tentacle is probably part of a Leviathan of some sort
* It's funny

Re: Ménage à 3 III: 47 Seconds Later
Somehow, I'm finding myself really distant from these turns of events. I don't know, they feel... strange. I can't pinpoint it closer.
Edit: Well, that wasn't very constructive, I realised. :smalltongue: It's nice to see Gary and Yuki working at it, but damn are they awkward. The closest thing he got to being relaxed was with Kiley and it didn't even really happen then.
I guess it's the style of the comic, but right now... Yuki feels really uncomfortable as a character.

She really seems to want to work through it for him. She came so freaking close back during the near threesome they got involved with, and gary seems able to help her focus, but its a very VERY delicate balance. If she gets startled next comic, poor gary may get nailed in a way he doesnt like.

Probably with those drumstick nunchunks.
I'm surprised that Giz appears to know so much about the Japanese palate - the Japanese fondness for red bean confectionery and sweets isn't that well known in the west.

It isn't? :smallconfused:
Anyway, whatever their music may be like... I feel assured I would love to watch the videos and quite possibly stage performances of her band.

It isn't? I can't go into an asian buffet or sushi place without seeing red bean curd pastrys and red bean ice cream. Its no more unknown than taro root, or ominomiyaki.
-
Re: Ménage à 3 III: 47 Seconds Later
Let me amend my statement, it's relatively unknown in the UK.
I suppose times have changed now, since I'm old enough to remember when chain Japanese food places here were very rare, so the only takeout red bean availablity was generally Chinese restaurants and you had to know about it, to ask for it.

Re: Ménage à 3 III: 47 Seconds Later
So... were her nunchucks drumming sticks all the time or did they turn into some for the purpose of this joke?
(I also continue to be amazed how not a single person in the Ma3 universe knows how to close/lock doors or be in places that grant them privacy. It seems to get worse, too. :smallamused: )
And no, i didn't know about the red bean thing. Not even sure what they are or taste like.

Re: Ménage à 3 III: 47 Seconds Later
Mwahahaha. Suffer, Zii, suffer!
-
Re: Ménage à 3 III: 47 Seconds Later
I like the way you think, good sir.
-
Re: Ménage à 3 III: 47 Seconds Later
Heh. You know, I'm usually the first to defend Zii. She has a strong 'older sister' streak and clearly has a moral compass, even if it's a bit wonky at times.
But out of all of the characters, there's something about watching Zii squirm that's easily the most fun...
So, what would you call Zii's band?
-
Re: Ménage à 3 III: 47 Seconds Later
The Mary Sues. The Reality Warpers. Perfection.
Okay, the obvious jokes are exhausted.
I'd call them Waffles Topped With Spam, because it makes about as much sense as any other band name I know.

When I saw them in the last few strips I assumed they were drumsticks. They're always connected by a thin chain, but that may be so it's easier to carry them around without losing them. I don't think they were ever nunchucks.

They've always been both. Drumchucks maybe?

I think we know she had some nun chucks at some point but yeah... probably just drumsticks with a chain to carry them around.
Also, use keys to lock doors... or at least shut them!
-
Re: Ménage à 3 III: 47 Seconds Later
I used to have nunchucks.
I don't anymore.
I have nonechucks. :smallfrown:

Re: Ménage à 3 III: 47 Seconds Later
Yuki's face in the second panel. I'd say that's pretty close to pure joy right there.
-
Re: Ménage à 3 III: 47 Seconds Later
It's way obvious that we're about to watch this band go up in flames. But what with Giz magically becoming a halfway decent writer, I'm not so sure...
-
Re: Ménage à 3 III: 47 Seconds Later
She does indeed look pretty damn happy in that second panel.
...and, weirdly enough, Not A Lesbian looks surprisingly hot on that bass guitar. >_>
(So she actually has one and knows how to play it... huh.)

Personally I think she is the hottest girl in the comic.

Hm... I'd say she fits the most the 'average beauty'... DiDi is too tall and got too big breasts, which is attractive to some but at a certain point it's just... too much. Yuki is Asian, Sandra is a redhead (damn you soulless gingers!) and Zii is cute but very punky and I guess not that well endowed. Sonja might have weird character quirks but on the outside she's pretty flawless for the average man, I'd wager.
-
Re: Ménage à 3 III: 47 Seconds Later
I loved the last panel in the last strip, that was near anime levels of cuteness on yukis face. "druuuuums?!"

Aside from being dumb as a rock?:smallwink:
Okay, so that might be too harsh, but she is not really that smart, which is a pretty big flaw for some.
