Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
So is Sieghard returning to Savonne alone with all the horses?
How much should he tell Sforza, if questioned about where he was?
I don't think he should mention Wadim. Maybe just say something about rumors that goblins have been abducting people. (Which is 100% true.)
-
Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
That was my plan. Not so much the returning alone part, but I'll do what I can.

Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
Can we not take our horses with us to the raven hills? Are the mountains too rocky to ride? Ludo would very much prefer to take his pony.
-
Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
Could be a bit difficult if Wadim wants to cut across the mountains, which is my current understanding. Though a pony is probably better for that than proper horses...
-
Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
For getting to an actual peak (which is Wadim's suggestion for a lookout point), horses would be tricky. For just crossing the Teeth, if you stuck to the passes, you could probably get your horses over. If you wanted to combine those two plans then you'd need to tie them up and/or leave them under some kind of guard while you did the last bit of climbing.
-
Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
Wadim doesn't have any more questions for the PCs on this subject - if you have more for him, fire away. Otherwise, I think there are 1 or 2 other conversations that might want to be resolved before we advance the day, but when you're ready to move ahead let me know.
-
Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
TBH, I thought Wadim already knew Nahorek was a vamp.

Elsa could be convinced to bathe if Sieghard were joining her in the bathtub or pond.

Sounds doable.

If we know where we're going after sightseeing with Wadim, Bardhyl could have his men bring the horses there. I imagine the vrani might want to stick with Bardhyl and Wadim, but Grim and the rest could go ahead through the passes and bring everyone's mounts to somewhere near Morr's Seat if that's where we're going next.
-
Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
Would you be bringing the whole band?
Other than that, the only other thing I'm waiting on is that I was assuming Bardhyl wanted a 1-to-1 conversation with Wadim about less supernatural matters (i.e. can you un-exile me please). If I've got that wrong or he's saving that conversation for another time let me know.

Maybe send one or two of them back to Savonne to rendezvous with Abbie and Max since it's unclear how long the group will be a-travelling through the mountains. I don't want poor Max and Abbie to think we've just abandoned them if they come back to the current hiding place and no one's there.
I definitely want to have that conversation, but it felt like we'd moved on and were ready to move on. I guess maybe we could timeskip ahead to a point after the current conversation, though. I'll get a post up tomorrow.

Happy Easter all - sorry for the long delay, I thought I'd have more time over the break than I did. Update going up now.

Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
Naturally, I forgot to roll a Perception check in the IC thread...
[roll0] vs. 64 (Int 44, Perception +20)
-
Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
-
Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
Terror test [roll0] vs. 39 (WP 59, Terror -20)
WP test for riding horse [roll1] vs. WP 10
Strength test to controll horse [roll2] vs. S 41
-
Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
@rax the passed S test means you've got your horse under control - you don't need to worry about it immediately throwing you off. It might still panic if e.g. the wyvern tries to take a bite out of it though.
One note is that the terrain here has a lot of bare rock, loose stone and steep slopes, which is why I've assumed everyone's leading their horses rather than riding them. A horse going fast over this ground could possibly do itself an injury.

Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
Jarla:
Terror vs 22(!) [roll0]
Strength test to control Countess vs 42 [roll1]
Countess:
Terror vs 10(!) [roll2]
Edit: Yeesh... well I suppose at least she's not fleeing in absolute terror. :smalleek:
IC post later today.

Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
You're not tempted to chuck a fortune point at either of those?
Taking a moment to do the NPC dice rolls. IIRC it was 2 more of Bardhyl's people who were sent to take word to Max and Abbie? Picking at quasi-random, let's say it was Damjan and Panteleon (unless rax you object).
Wadim: [roll0]
Tatiana [roll1]
[roll2]
[roll3]
Outlaws
Grim [roll4], [roll5], [roll6]
Ortwin [roll7], [roll8], [roll9]
Afrim [roll10], [roll11], [roll12]
Zana [roll13], [roll14], [roll15]
Kreshnik [roll16], [roll17], [roll18]
Waldon [roll19], [roll20], [roll21] - waldon why can't you be more like your horse
To summarise those results:
Name |
Terror Level |
Horse |
Wadim |
3 |
Doesn't have one |
Tattie |
1 |
Bolted |
Grim |
0 |
Bolted |
Ortwin |
2 |
Bolted |
Afrim |
3 |
Bolted |
Zana |
3 |
Bolted |
Kreshnik |
1 |
Bolted |
Waldon |
3 |
Unfussed |
So that's 6 bolting horses, 4 fleeing NPCs (Wadim, Afrim, Zana and Waldon) and unfortunately no spare helping hands for PCs' tests.

I have to admit I'm very nervous I'd get an even worse result. :smalleek:
Still here goes nothing: Terror [roll0] vs 22
Edit... well not worse but effectively identical.
-
Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
Terror vs. 63: [roll0]
Fortune: [roll1]
Horse, not sure what's the WP of a destrier: [roll2] - Most likely a success, even at -20.
Charm Animal 49: [roll3] - If Bastard passed his test, Elsa will use this test to help Tattie with her horse, since Tattie would be the closest character.
Fortune: [roll4]
I advise we perform no attacks against the wyvern unless it becomes clear that the wyvern is coming after us instead of, say, one of the bolting horses.
-
Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
Destrier WP is 10 (could be a handy statline to keep on your sheet). I'm just asking for straight WP from the horses though (I don't feel we need the detail of our Fear/Terror rules for them), so that's a pass.
-
Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
I'm always awed at how ridiculously high Elsa's WP is.
-
Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
Ludo's Terror: [roll0] vs 17
Lumpin WP: [roll1] vs presumably quite low, i cannot say i ever met a pony with much psychological resistance
Controlling Lumpin with Charm Animal vs 31 Untrained: [roll2]
-
Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
Ludo is once again entirely psychologically unaffected by a horrifying thing, let me throw a re-roll at that Charm Animal: [roll0]
Hooray! Does controlling Lumpin take a full turn?
If I have my Turn, I want to Delay - as soon as the Wyvern comes back, I want to shoot it with my gun.

Ah, right, I missed that. I was thinking that Bardhyl was riding. I'll edit my post to reflect that he's on foot and holding the reins.
-
Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
Heh. I would've expected Wadim to be unafraid of death, especially after his time with the goblins. But the dice gods don't care.

Comes with the territory of being able to bend reality to your will. :smallcool:
WP was actually my only good stat when I first rolled my character.
Congrats Ludo!

Sounds legit to me. Can you give me a hit roll?
-
Re: [WFRP] The Bloody Crown OOC XV
Certainly!
[roll0] vs 46 base +10 Single Shot +Size? -Speed? -Range? Can I hold that delay until it either a) attacks someone or b) comes within range?
[roll1]+4 damage
