Tried that. Last time I played Capture the Flag everyone cheated and it sucked.
(Well, actually, I was invisible and caught fire, but that's different.)

Oh well, the counterparts weren't. Not a fan of TV dramas; I liked SNL's parody. :smalltongue:

Try ToR. It was designed by the US Navy so their personell could get respectable internet in China, and has been reduced to mainly letting high school kids get on MySpace in computer lab now...but hey, it works.

Funny. The Tor site is usually blocked.
Bwahahaahaha! Drop your guard for one second too long, Etisalat, and through your clenched fist slip thousands of downloads you deem Haram!
EDIT: Hmm. That sounds... Nevermind.
Anyway, when I enable it, my internet grinds to a halt. :smallconfused:

If it'd have been blocked, I'd have just offered to email it to you. (most common attachment limit I've seen is 10 MB, the setup is 8)
EDIT: Also, yes. Since it works by jumping around to thousands of different computers before going online, as well as putting you behind one or more proxies, your internet will slow to somewhere about dial-up speeds.

I mean, when I enable it, Firefox won't even try to reach a site. Clicking links has the effect of clicking normal text. :smallconfused:

Hmm...I never had that problem. Let me boot it up (as I don't normally have occasion to use it) and test.
Fake-edit.
I had the same problem when I first enabled it, as well as it not loading pages. I fixed it by stopping ToR through the Vidalia Control Panel and Restarting it. I also hit the "create new Identity" a few times before it, but I don't know if that did anything.

I shall try that...
Hm. I think this might be a problem:
When I open the network map whilst trying to connect to Tor, it shows four paths/connections, that, after a bit, 'fail'.
Then it tries four new ones, that also fail.
Etc. etc.

If the site's still available, try downloading an older (or newer, depending on what you grabbed) version and seeing if it works. It looks like they have a "stable" (0.2.0.34) and an "unstable" (0.2.1.15-rc) version.

I downloaded their bundle package thingum, and it seems to work. Go figure; it's the same version. :smallconfused:

Urg, I wish I could undo what I've done to my sleep cycle. I can't fall asleep before twelve anymore. And I usually manage to drag myself out only just before lunch. Gah :smallsigh:

Re: Groundhog's Random Banter of Weather Prediction and Anti-Gopherness #120
Just read the Allan Moore's latest LXG comic ("Century 1910"), and I have to say:
what a cockamamie, cataclysmically p**s-poor, phoned-in piece of hackwork!
It seems the much-loved Sage of Brum and lionized King of Comics was so intent upon making clever-clever literary allusions, getting overheated about sex and Alistair Crowley, and scripting a mediocre Jack the Ripper song-and-dance number (WTF?!) that he forgot to include a plot. What a shambolic mess. And as for the weak-as-dishwater prose story that accompanied the comic: waste of ink! :smallmad:
I didn't know comics writers encountered a philosopause (exception: Grant Morrison, but he's just a total headbanger).

Dear Allen
Less sub-Promethea tosh; more story worth the reading please. If needs be you can go and look at your old stuff until you remember how it's done.

So, yeah. Avoid it like the plague.

Re: Groundhog's Random Banter of Weather Prediction and Anti-Gopherness #120
Well, to be fair, you did get his name wrong. Twice. In a single post. Let him get several dozen comic books wrong in his career (yes, he screws up a lot).

Re: Groundhog's Random Banter of Weather Prediction and Anti-Gopherness #120
I have finished my exams. Topology is no more. And it went pretty well, though I did have to try and make up a proof off the top of my head, since I couldn't remember it.

Re: Groundhog's Random Banter of Weather Prediction and Anti-Gopherness #120
All that fiddling around with ToR, and the video still won't run, even when I can access the site. Oh well.
Also, I accidentally microwaved my bagels far too long. The result is that they are rock solid. :smallyuk:

Bagels. The things that look somewhat like doughnuts.

Off to my graduation ceremony now. Then after grad party. Then after after grad party party. Apprehensive about second party, due to "8000 dirhams worth of booze" being present. I have major qualms with alcohol. At least most of my friends going don't drink...

Doughnuts are only better when they have jam/chocolate/sprinkles.
*Drools over doughnuts*
I had Jaffa Cakes earlier, they were delicious beyond human understanding.

I'm scared now.
And now I've got I'm Yours by Jason Mraz stuck in my head. It's not a bad song really.

You know, until he decided to try that schtick on Rorschach.
