Re: Eragon, Where Dragons dare
Lord Soth
Eragon gestures to Raistlain. "This is Arya." He says sternly. "She's one of our best warriors. Killing the king is a matter for all the people of Alagesia, not just a few."
Lina Inverse
The shade cuts the plates out of the air, then throws himself aside, the beam passing over him and punching a hole through the wall. "Yes. What of it?" He says, as he strides forward, bringing up his sword in a sharp movement aimed at disemboweling the sorceress.

Re: Eragon, Where Dragons dare
Raistlin
Stepping forward, the 'elf' gives a curt nod to Lord Soth. Her tone emphasizes each word; staring straight into the undead creature's eyes, the elf's face twitches.
"Welcome to the Varden...whoever you are. I trust that you will not betray us."
-
Re: Eragon, Where Dragons dare
Lord Soth
"I should say the same of you." Soth says, staring intently at the elf. She doesn't seem afraid, she seems..anticipatory, as if waiting for something, but that's an issue for another day. He merely turns to Eragon, "I'm sorry; I'm in the habit of being informed of who's being brought along when put in charge of an army, I guess I was spoiled by the discipline in the Highlord's army."
-
Re: Eragon, Where Dragons dare
"Deal with it. You aren't in this 'Highlord's' army anymore." Curt and clipped, 'Arya' salutes Nuasda. "I don't trust him one inch, Nuasda. Must we leave our armies in his charge?"
-
Re: Eragon, Where Dragons dare
Lord Soth
Soth's hand goes to his sword, "Funny, I've never known an elf could be trusted, especially a female elf. Would you like to be introduced to the Banshees that follow me? You'd be right at home with them. Unlike the boy or you, I have history commanding soldiers."

"My sword..." Gourry runs and picks it up from where it fell.
{OOC: That was just embarassing for Gourry. Lina lasted longer than him. :smalltongue: Heck, one time he was brainwashed and almost defeated the entire cast by himself, just through swordplay}
"WINDY SHIELD!"
A bubble of rushing wind forms to meet the Shade's weapon. Lina grunts as the attack is deflected.
"Well, then maybe you could tell me who the heck you are or why you attacked me? :smallannoyed: Are you one of Xellos's pals?"
A stalemate. This guy probably couldn't penetrate the shield, but Lina couldn't cast spells while it was up.
-
Re: Eragon, Where Dragons dare
'Arya' glares at Soth as well, ignoring the fact that she is only wearing Eragon's shirt. "I don't know what a bahnshae is, but I do know that I, unlike you, have been Tested." There is a very faint Palanthas accent in that last emphasized word.
-
Re: Eragon, Where Dragons dare
Lina Inverse
The shade 's eyes narrow. "Power. I will kill you both and take your strength, such that it is." He replied, staring at the shield. He unleashed a barrage of blows, none penetrating, then began pacing around it like a predator.
Southern Varden
Nuasda glares at the both of them, cutting off all replies. "You don't like it? Well then... deal with it." she says. "What's done is done, and neither of you are going to get in the way of our victory. Understand?" With that, a horn sounded, and the men began to break camp.
-
Re: Eragon, Where Dragons dare
Lord Soth
Soth grabs 'Ayra' by the throat, and pulls her in close, quietly whispering, "I'd recognize that accent anywhere! What are you doing here, wizard." He knows of only one person from Krynn besides himself in this world; the master of past and present.
-
Re: Eragon, Where Dragons dare
Raistlin
'Arya' sighs. "Yes, Nuasda. I don't suppose you know where my armor and weapons are? My...encounter with the magician left me unable to bring them with me."
-
Re: Eragon, Where Dragons dare
Nasuada glares at Lord Soth. "Let her go." She says. "And mount up. We need to be at your keep by tonight." She looks at Arya. "We did not bring your equipment, but I'm sure some of my equipment will fit you fine."
-
Re: Eragon, Where Dragons dare
Lips only inches away from Soth's undead ears, Raistlin whispers back, so quietly that only Soth could hear. "Fulfilling my earlier promise. Nuasda will not be harmed; but do not interfere with my plans."
-
Re: Eragon, Where Dragons dare
Lord Soth
"We're not done here, wizard, but if you break your promise, you will die by my hand." Soth whispers, as he dropped 'her' to the ground; whatever game 'Ayra' is playing, it will have to be unraveled at a later date. He moves back into formation and resumes marching.

"And you came after little old me? I'm flattered." Lina says, batting her eyelids.
The Shade's starts to speak, but interrupted as Gourry draws back his blade and performs a masterful iaido strike. The Shade reacts in time to block it, but his stance is weakened, and he struggles to block Gourry's follow-up blows.
This gives Lina the opening to drop the shield and jump back.
"Have another DAMU BRAS, on the house!"

Re: Eragon, Where Dragons dare
The shade glares, an expression full of loathing. Slowly, it sheaths it's sword. "Not, bad, for an amateur, you flat chested little girl." He sneers, and then darts out the door and into the street. As he darts through the door, there is a whoosh as a massive ball of orange flame ignites into a burning conflagration, an enormous holocaust that destroys the entire building, with the two of you still in it.
Southern Varden
A horse is brought for Arya, and you begin the second day of travel. The sky is clear, and there is nobody to be seen in the fields around.

Re: Eragon, Where Dragons dare
Lord Soth
Soth falls back alongside 'Ayra' and starts speaking in one of the various trade languages of Krynn to ensure that no one could overhear them, "As I said, Wizard, our conversation was not over; I will not interfere in your plan if it does not hurt Nu', but I'd prefer to know if it will hurt our chances in the battle to come."
-
Re: Eragon, Where Dragons dare
Raistlin
"Our chances? Your chances. But no, they will not. In the end, Lord Soth, Nuasda will rule over this land. I guarantee it."
-
Re: Eragon, Where Dragons dare
Lord Soth
"I'm still shocked you escaped the Abyss long enough to come here; and that you didn't know what had happened to Kit." Soth says, taking in Raist's words.
-
Re: Eragon, Where Dragons dare
Raistlin
The archmage's eyes flash dangerously. "These events that you speak of have not happened to me yet. Do not mention them again."
-
Re: Eragon, Where Dragons dare
Lord Soth
Soth obtains a dangerous smirk, "Why, wizard, would I care to respect time than I care to respect your god's mother? The timeline of a world I will never see again means little to me."
-
Re: Eragon, Where Dragons dare
Raistlin
"Because I can send you back. No matter your intentions at the time."
-
Re: Eragon, Where Dragons dare
Lord Soth
"Fine; If only to avoid returning to a world that holds nothing for me, I will respect this wish. I'm assuming your plan involves, 'Eragon' or else you would not have assumed the shape of his woman?"
-
Re: Eragon, Where Dragons dare
Elric
For a brief moment, the Melnibonean forgets his indignation in the face of shock and fear, still telepathic, he manages to ask, "I don't suppose you know what those were, do you?"
Dilvish
"A hob-bit, did you say? Well, Mr. Bilbo, it is a pleasure to make your acquaintance. I shall have to hear of your world when you have a chance. But for now, why are you here?"
-
Re: Eragon, Where Dragons dare
Bilbo
"To aid these men in their quest to end this war; and that means aiding you in finding this 'egg.'" Bilbo says, happy to know someone wishes to hear his story.
-
Re: Eragon, Where Dragons dare
"Assumed her shape? This is her shape. She's currently in my body, locked in my Tower, and forced out of sheer boredom to see every move I make, and powerless to stop any of it. My plans involve the Riders. All of them."

The Shade cannot hear the incantation which follows, only see its effects. For a few moments the fire continues to burn. And then, the entire building starts to rapidly freeze over.
A globe of wind carries the pair out, Lina landing gently on her feet on a rooftop before the man (Gourry, of course, falls on his head). Her face is much redder than her brief exposure to the flames would suggest.
"LITTLE GIRL? FLAT-CHESTED?! Well, if you want power, you can have it!"
*music begins to play (1:41)*
She raises her hands and an orb of power starts to form between them. The intensity of the gathering magical energy throws up a strong wind which tosses her hair and cloak wildly.
Coming to his senses, Gourry shouts "W-wait, Lina! You can't use that here!"
Ignoring him, she begins to chant.
"Darkness beyond twilight,
Crimson beyond blood that flows,
Buried in the flow of time,
In thy great name I pledge myself to darkness..."
A white-faced Gourry leaps from the roof and starts to flee towards the gate.

Re: Eragon, Where Dragons dare
Lord Soth
Soth merely stares for a few moments before letting out a chuckle, "That, wizard, is what I respect in you; anyone can wield power, but you're crafty with it. I do, however, wonder why you care what happens here."
-
Re: Eragon, Where Dragons dare
"Egg? What egg? You'll have to pardon me, but I only just reached this world but a few hours ago. These gents found me in the mountains, trying to find a pass through."
-
Re: Eragon, Where Dragons dare
Bilbo
"The man just explained it to me, apparently we are to fetch a dragon egg. Won't this be an interesting adventure?" Bilbo says, smoking his pipe with a smile.

Re: Eragon, Where Dragons dare
"Why am I here? You are from my future; you know my plans, or at least the necessary details. These people? This war? This continent? This world? Practice. Nothing more."
