More punishment! Let us become the hero that Nova needs, but not the one it deserves.
(From the Darkness, I Delurk!)
Cruelty can only go so far. Having people around who are devoted to stabbing things before they stab us, however, can go a very long way!
It's not like we're going to need those soldiers elsewhere... right? We've already threatened Ixion, are engaged to a powerful noble in another, and... I have no idea we stand with the other nations, but who cares about them, right? ... Right?
(to the tune of DeFense!)
Train-ing! (bump bump) Train-ing! (bump bump) Train-ing!
Just as a thing, I vote we all chip in and buy the titles a bucket of ice cream!
They look like they could use some cheering up, the poor things.
The BatPrincess is a symbol, one that inspires fear in the hearts of the treasonous.
Depending on your point of view, there are such things as "bad endings" where Elodie still makes it to her coronation. There are some game overs that would probably be better for Elodie than the worst coronation endings you can achieve.
Hence why I said "bad endings" in quotes, refering to their status in a gamer sense as opposed to a narrative sense. I'd say that depressing or just sucky "good endings" could be called "unhappy endings" just to draw that distinction.
Train more guards. We're already training ourselves, and frightening commoners seems like the kind of solution that ensures it finds a problem.
SpoilerI am cheating. I got the game a little while ago, and know which event this choice affects. Should I keep on voting without giving away things onlookers wouldn't know, or just stop?
Seconded.
I vote for more guards. Batman needs a good police force, after all.
SpoilerI believe the rule is that you can vote, but don't refer to future checks directly or speak about how much a check is going to take. For example, I earlier suggested that we train Sense Magic as a priority, then Resist Magic, and only enough wield magic to take the other two above 50 until later - and couched it as a reference to the Sorceror's Apprentice that we needed to sense and resist the forces before we could properly wield them.
And another commission fee for Deme :smallcool:
Bleh no idea here, hire more guards I guess ?
Given how the games goes, it probably won't make any difference and cost us money for nothing... although I do wonder if
(spoiler for those who haven't played/seen a LP of the game inside))
SpoilerHaving more guard might mean a bigger escort and may stop the whole 'arrow in the flank ambush' thing if you try to go to the party later ?
Either that or maybe no being attacked by crazy urderer guy iof we codemn him to prison/death.
I haven't played the game so id don't actualy know if it's influence these events but seems worth a try.
Train more Guards! So we can fulfill our lifelong dream of going
"Guards! Guards!"
More guards; we will dine in the shade with all our large men towering over us.
Treason shows us as cruel and acts not a deterrent but a symbol.
Throw ourselves into training wholeheartedly. The early years of Bruce Wayne's life were fully dedicated to honing the fine fighting edge. It is only later that he brought on a team and spent time training them, too.
So, training.
I vote for punishment. We are the the almighty sorceress-queen of Novan! All who oppose us shall be cast into the fiery abyss of Hell!
Guardsmen, of course! We need mooks if we're going to keep meddlesome do-gooders occupied on things other than which of our vertebrae to separate.
Erm, I mean evil-doers, of course. Definately.
Right, so it looks like guards will win. (And that the character I seem to have invented to write the titles is getting ice-cream.)
This puts our mood at...
Neutral on Afraid/Angry
Neutral on Cheerful/Depressed
+3 Willful (That is, it's resting on the third arrow)
+ 2 Pressured (On the second arrow).
I'll do the update in a big dose once we determine weekend activities, what we'll be wearing (Lumen-boosting Magical Girl or Economics-Boosting tux), and what we'll be studying.
We have a ways to go on all three of those yet.. can't honestly claim to be an almighty sorceress while our (non-Sense) Lumen skills are still fairly amateurish, and we are not yet Queen or we would have won the game. Also the tone of this is kind of sliding toward Dark Lady Galadriel. :smalleek: It probably would not be wise to go about with that kind of attitude until we actually *are* an almighty sorceress.
Not sure on specifics as to what I would suggest, but I think we should maintain a focus on the Lumen skills - not to the extent of double-lessons again, but taking one Lumen skill alongside whatever else we're studying for at least as long as we remain Willful.
I say we attend court in our Magic Girl Suit. Then lets train Wield Magic and Horses.
Lets play with toys. Then we should put on our Tuxedo, because quite frankly the Lumen outfit is a little embarrassing. As for classes, I say Ciphers and Resist Magic.
I am glad that the titles are getting their ice-cream. They pull their weight!
As for classes, let's get some Wield Magic (inching toward those fireballs yessss) and Ciphering (we're magical-girl batman, but we still don't know how to decode lemon juice? UNACCEPTABLE!)
Until we get a bat suit, we are going to have to substitute the business suit. What? It's closer!
Magical Girl outfit, Ciphering, Wield Magic
Well the closest you'll get to a batsuit is the *snicker* intrigue costume.
So Cypher for one of the classes
For now, tuxedo tho, it's just adorable with the two black ribbons.
We'll have to remember to retrain in animals as to train dogs some more at some point.
I'm going to go with Resist Magic for class.
Like I said, I want to go for a Batman ending.

Y-You like me...You really like me!
Spoiler
We need more guards. We also need to pick up some sort of police commissioner, who will be surprised when we appear and vanish.

"As you wish."
But when he said 'as you wish' what he meant was 'I love you.'
http://i810.photobucket.com/albums/z...ter%2026/2.png
We'll play with our toys, since it sounds like we want to be willful this week, and Attending Court will make us Pressured.
We slip on our tux before attending classes...In Resisting Magic and Ciphering!
http://i810.photobucket.com/albums/z...ter%2026/3.png
Sadly, no lemon juice. Sorry, Sightsear.
http://i810.photobucket.com/albums/z...ter%2026/4.png
Wait, she cares about soup but not total freedom from brain freeze? A lady of her class would be able to have ice-cream as early at the 1300s!
Think of the possibilities!
http://i810.photobucket.com/albums/z...ter%2026/5.png
"The majority of the money we recieve is already spoken for, but there is always some room for discretion."
Oh, boy! All our accounting skills have been building to this moment!
Serious accounting business!
http://i810.photobucket.com/albums/z...ter%2026/6.png
Our body is ready.
If you lower taxes, you will lose some of that money because it will go to pay your existing costs; if you raise taxes, you should have more.
However, raising taxes will make the people unhappy, and lowering them will make them happy with us. Novan seems financially secure either way at the moment.
http://i810.photobucket.com/albums/z...ter%2026/7.png
The choice is ours and ours alone! More money, less popularity? Less money, more popularity? Keep things even?
You kind of used the Ciphering lessons screen for three shots, and it's covering what I assume is important plot.
We need to keep our facade as a billionaire "playboy". MOAR TAXES
Keep them the same: It looks like we have enough money at the moment.
Lower Taxes. Because I can't think of anything funny and this seems practical.
Lower Taxes.
Perhaps they don't have lemons?
As for business, We're already in a good place with the people, so lowering the taxes isn't vital for keeping our head. On the other hand, having more money isn't really a vital necessity either, and invite trouble where there was none before. When in doubt, status quo!
Let's keep the taxes as is.
And yes titles, we do like you!
Let's bring our Resist Magic and Sense Magic up again this coming week. No sense in leaving things half-done, after all.
Lower taxes, I mean it's not like we've actually had the choice to invest in any of the special projects so far, so we probably don't need that much money.
I say keep the same. Because we need the people's good will, but don't want to be poor ourselves.
Hold taxes level. We haven't spent much of anything yet, and I don't think we've done anything to really draw danger from the rest of our tax base so that we would need to mollify them with lower taxes.
(Kind of interesting to get an exact report of our available finances- it highlights just how absurd that earlier price for buying off Ixion was.)
To be fair, Bruce, in his public persona, actively invests in projects that vastly improve the welfare of the residents of Gotham in the millions, through pretty much every continuity he exists in.
That said, we don't know what we may need the current money for, so keep taxes level. We can always invest in something good later, given our awesome actuarial/accounting skills.
We might want to boost our Trade/Production skill areas, though.
Let's keep taxes as they are.
I believe people are forgetting something.
Batman is loved by the populace(except in continuities where he's not) despite being a walking hospital visit for crooks. We too must be loved by the people. Unfortunately, we cannot create this love by breaking legs and snapping spines, so we must create it in the only way available to us: Lower taxes.
Lower Taxes. Happy people is people that will support us in case of coup and while having some on-hand cash is nice, we haven't actually used any yet. We just don't have the skills to benefit from these special projects anyway.
Lower Taxes!
Our personal guard will protect us from assassins and our magic (and magical allies) and skills can help with nobles, so the populace is our biggest current threat.
Also, seconding the fact that we're to stupid to approve any of the public works people keep offering :smallfrown:
Part 2
or
The manager sort of told me to apologize for interrupting the LP with emotional breakdown titles. Oops. Normal titling will resume.
SpoilerAnd the winner is...
http://i810.photobucket.com/albums/z...ter%2026/8.png
Staying the course!
Which is fine, since this is a course people appear to be contented with...Unless they dislike how pathetic we looked at the festival. But still -- the taxes, they'll live with. And we get money.
"As you wish."
We love you, too, dad.
http://i810.photobucket.com/albums/z...ter%2026/9.png
Our current mood...Because...
It's weekend time!
Things to note: if we want to stay willfull but get closer to neutral, we can do 'attend service.' Or we can change direction, or give us more willful so we can maneuver more easily while staying in willful.
http://i810.photobucket.com/albums/z...er%2026/10.png
The rest depends on what we're doing next.
Visit Treasury: +1 Willful
Attend Court: +2 Yielding, +1 Depressed, +1 Pressured
Attend Service*: -1 Cheerful
Explore Castle: +1 Lonely, +1 Afraid
Play with Toys: +1 Yielding, +1 Lonely, +1 Cheeful.
Visit Dungeons* +1 Willful, +1 Angry
Visit Tomb: +1 Depressed, +1 Afraid
Walk in the Gardens: +1 Lonely, +1 Cheerful.
Sneak Out: +1 Lonely, +2 Willfull
Play Sports*: +1 angry
Okay, lets Attend Service and take Classes in Ciphering and Resist Magic again.
Attend Service. Horses and Wield Magic
Sense Magic and Resist Magic
Also, Magical Girl outfit.
Because Batman needs to fight for justice. And one such reckoning will come sooner than you think.
Keep this outfit, attend service, resist and weild magic.
I vote Foreign Unintelligence and Ciphering.
Attend Service, Ciphering and Internal Affairs (if Ciphering bumps past 25, that'll let IA go above 50, right? Otherwise, Foreign Intelligence for the second class.)
Ciphering and horses

We are Justice!
Spoiler
Alright, time to do this thing!
http://i810.photobucket.com/albums/z...apt%2027/1.png
I'm not sure there's a joke I'm allowed to make here, so let's move on.
For the week, we put back on our poofy magical-girl dress.
And the winners are... Ciphering and Resist Magic!
...Again.
http://i810.photobucket.com/albums/z...apt%2027/2.png
http://i810.photobucket.com/albums/z...apt%2027/3.png
And we get a new outfit! This one's...Pretty special, guys. Yup.
http://i810.photobucket.com/albums/z...apt%2027/4.png
That's a lot of resistance. Let's hope we're prepared for the next magical threat that comes our way! (She says, knowing when that is)
http://i810.photobucket.com/albums/z...apt%2027/5.png
Joslyn's legalese needs some work.
On the other hand, it's time to be the Justice Novan needs, and hopefully pass enough checks to be the one it deserves, too!
"He does not deny the act, but requests a pardon that he might be set free."
http://i810.photobucket.com/albums/z...apt%2027/6.png
Well, he might be insane, Lodie.
http://i810.photobucket.com/albums/z...apt%2027/7.png
Callled it. Though is it really calling it if I already knew?
"Everyone knows the power of magical beasties! They used me, they twisted my fingers into chains. My wife found me screaming, she tried to shake me, and the chains wrapped around her..."
Riiight. Sure. Demons. I mean, odds are decent there are demons, and there definately are magical creatures, but...
[b]"I need the priestesses to bless me and make me clean again!"[/color]
You need less murdering to do that.
http://i810.photobucket.com/albums/z...apt%2027/8.png
This is...The other early-game sense magic check I was thinking about. Congrats!
This guy's not surrounded by demons -- he's a WITCH!
http://i810.photobucket.com/albums/z...apt%2027/9.png
Now, for passing that check, we get the option of pursuing the whole 'lumen' thing.
We should obviously question him about the crystal
Been watching for a bit. Loving it! Deme is the best.
Question about the crystal!
Question about the crystal.
Excellent. Soon, we will be Vengeance and The Night as well.
