There's also the bearded weapon special ability and the fluff for the explosive weapon special ability that I wrote for steelforge.
Outside of myself, just goblins and kobolds in general seem to be comedy pieces in pathfinder and D&D.
Re: Dreamscarred Press Introduces Lords of the Wild- The Playtest!
Any news on when Lords of the Wild is to be released?

Any new news on this project?
Re: Dreamscarred Press Introduces Lords of the Wild- The Playtest!
Came back to this as I was super stoked because I love Chimera Soul. Reminds me of Bloodborne in how beasts tend to be very exaggerated animals with unnatural movements and attacks. Chimera Soul is everything I want the Shifter in Ultimate Wilderness to be, but I know the Shifter will just be pure animal themed and not monstrous hybrids like CS.
So, any news on this?
Re: Dreamscarred Press Introduces Lords of the Wild- The Playtest!
yeah, this is one I have been waiting for. I want it released so badly.
Re: Dreamscarred Press Introduces Lords of the Wild- The Playtest!
Sorry for the lack of updates, lots of IRL drama and such.
With that, I am going to declare this playtest officially closed. As far as release , it's going to be split into two parts. The first will be the main book, which has currently been passed to editing. The second will be dedicated to Chimera Soul, and will be its own release through the DSP Patreon, similar to Fool's Errand, once we iron out some of the kinks present in the discipline and make sure it matches up to the design philosophy that is being applied to Path of War content going forward.
Re: Dreamscarred Press Introduces Lords of the Wild- The Playtest!
Are there expected time frames for both of them?

Unfortunately, we don't have a timeframe for either release at this point, though the playtest document will remain up until the release and for a time after that.
Re: Dreamscarred Press Introduces Lords of the Wild- The Playtest!
Okay, nice, so I won't have to worry about not having access to it.
I'm looking forward to the official release of CS. Especially wonder what kind of art will be used for it.
Re: Dreamscarred Press Introduces Lords of the Wild- The Playtest!
If you're still wanting a bit of feedback, the Chimera Soul Style feats seem kinda lame.
Two of them are just passive boosts that don't change anything about how the discipline plays, and the other is just an attack that doesn't synergize with the discipline at all.
Compared to say, the Elemental Flux Style feats, they feel really disappointing.
Maybe instead of having two feats that help overcome DR, there's just one (possibly the middle feat), and then you have one of the feats allow you to temporarily imbue your natural attacks with a magic weapon property that you can change as a Swift action either as part of entering the style or as part of changing stances (say, Keen, Flaming, Raging, etc. but more options open up as you level if it's gotten early), and then another feat which gives a bonus for having two natural attacks of the same type from different sources (like if you have a gore attack from Furyhorn stance and a gore attack from the Bloody Horns maneuver, instead of just taking the more beneficial option, you also get a bonus that, say, allows one to ignore up to a certain amount of DR).
EDIT: Also, I'm surprised that Zealot's didn't receive a Hunting Pack archetype as well since they get free access to Chimera Soul.
Who are the intended users of Chimera Soul anyways? While emphasizing full attacks, BAB isn't too important because of Multiattack. However, it doesn't seem to synergize too well with the classes that get it for free either. The best combos for it seem to be with Warlord and Warder, since both can take advantage of having a huge number of attacks along with reach and whatnot.
Re: Dreamscarred Press Introduces Lords of the Wild- The Playtest!
Just saw your edit (forgot if I'd actually pressed post to respond to the question about a release date). Since my part in Chimera Soul was mostly consulting, I'm going to pass on commenting towards its design

Hunting pack isn't linked to Chimera Soul in any way. It's not even linked to shapeshifting. The hunting pack is based on the fear of being hunted, hence it being linked to the Dread. It's more about the Wolf side of a werewolf.

The intended users are initiators that want to be combat shapeshifters. It's not intended to be used by any particular class more or less than any other, since it can be picked up by any initiator for a trait or a tradition on top of its various free swap options. So it's class agnostic and attempts to fit a character style instead of a class style.
Re: Dreamscarred Press Introduces Lords of the Wild- The Playtest!
Since this never got addressed and I hear LotW is next up on the docket for release, I'm going to see if I can get this one issue resolved:

Hm...looking at it, I'm not really seeing it. Going to pass it through internal, but it might be that we forgot to do some basic math on that one (I think it got written before I wrote Rapid Shifting)
Okay, so Style Shift lets you do a Shift with the same action as assuming a Stance, both of which are swift actions, saving you one. Rapid Shifting lets you Shift as a free action, letting you also Shift and assume a Stance in the same turn, but also allows for the possibility of using Shift with any other swift action you might have, such as a boost, gambit, or class feature. On top of that, it can get better if you go deeper into Shifting feats as it begins to let you Shift out of turn, and is itself a Shifting feat to increase the potential bonuses from your Shift. It blows Style Shift out of the water in every way, but I do not think Rapid Shifting is too good, just that Style Shift is so bad.
Re: Dreamscarred Press Introduces Lords of the Wild- The Playtest!
I don't think Chimera Soul made it into the full release.
Re: Dreamscarred Press Introduces Lords of the Wild- The Playtest!
Questions for Paetrons who have received a copy of Lords of the Wild:
1) Did the Formless Master PrC make it, and did it's requirements get fixed to include Psionic Metamorphosis or similar psionic powers to satisfy the "shape change" requirement?
2) Was the Magnitude Shift feat included? Did the size change receive any gating of size behind levels?
Thanks!

1. No change to prereqs from the playtest doc. As a GM, I'm getting a RAI of either high level flexible transmutation magic or at-will powers that fundamentally alter form, possibly adding or subtracting limbs and possibly merging equipment, etc, which Metamorphosis doesn't. That being said, I think a prereq of Major Metamorphosis or a Metamorph's Free Shift would be fine.(or the Transformation feat or Alteration sphere w/ CL10 for SoP synergy)
Are there similar psionic powers to Metamorphosis?
2. No change to Magnitude from the playtest doc at the top of the thread.

Thanks for the info; I was really hoping for the prerequisites to allow Psionics - I mean Psionics one of the major parts of what DSP produces and it was suggested during playtest...
And if they didn't change Magnatude Shift, then I'd have to ban that anyway, and its simpler just to not get the book.
Which makes me sad because I was looking forward to it for so long.

There's Lesser, Major and True versions; and 'normal' might have been called out only, or Major/True allowed as well specifically. But as you say, none were.
I'd also say Form of Doom (PsyWar 6) might have been similar enough to qualify too.
