"I know I should be worried about all this, but the prospect of getting my hands on some of Dr. Trick's stuff... Wel, let's just say greed beats caution on this one for me. Yay for pre-emptive confiscation!"
Sekhmet, who has been hovering and pressed against the roof of the subway car, has been half-listening to the conversation. She then looks down and asks "Did anyone ever find out what kind of powers Brick was using? Mutation leaves some pretty strong signs, I mean... Maybe he was using a different power source? We could be looking at this backwards. Instead of them being mages who gained superhuman stuff, maybe they were superhumans who became mages? And maybe that's what happened with Brick. He could've learned magic or become a cyborg or something instead of gaining more powers." She stares curiously at Improv, unsure if she's suggesting anything new.
"Good question. Those guys back there were probably mystics in the first place, if they really used to run with Golden Dawn...But as for Brick, I dunno. The autopsy found the typical super-strength mutation, but nothing to explain the new powers. That would suggest something mystical, rather than a modification to his body...Not that Knack usually works with magic, though.
And then, like several people noted, there's the resemblance between his powers and those of the Avatar and Upstart. Which could be a coincidence, or not."
The underground train reaches your station.
Leshii exits the subway as the doors open. "So, do we have a game plan? Is there an air vent we can climb into, or should we just break down the doors?"
"I was thinking of something along the lines of you, FX and me charging through the front door, while Powerhouse and Sekhmet crash through the roof. Unless anyone has a better idea...?"
"Sounds good. We don't really have enough time to be sneaky."
"As long as I don't end up K.O.'d again, sounds like a decent plan ta me."
Sekhmet listens to the plan and follows quickly, her tail getting caught in the closing subway doors, making her yowl in a distinctly cat-like manner. Once her tail stops hurting, she tries to focus again.
"I could use my X-Ray vision, see the best point of entry, perhaps. I think it's X-Ray vision, anyway, I don't know how it works." She suggests before asking something that suddenly comes to mind: "Where does the Avatar get his powers anyway? Is he a god or something?"
"If Bangladesh had a dollar for every time some pondered that question, it wouldn't be a Third World country. The Avatar is, and remains, a mystery. Probably mystical in nature, but beyond that, go figure. Some people think he's an avatar of God with a big capital G. Some people think he's the incarnation of heroism itself. Some people think he's an alien, or from the future, or an angel, or some kind of ultimate mutant, or any other number of theories. I'm sort of an Avatar-agnostic, I guess - I don't really have a clue.
But yeah, go for the X-ray."
Sekhmet:SpoilerTechnically speaking, it's not X-ray vision - x-rays would show people as mere skeletons:smalltongue: . Regardless, your penetrating vision shows an advanced, eclectic laboratory, with things ranging from electrical devices to biology experiments...As far as you can tell, at least. There are a few robots moving around, but they don't look like they're designed for combat. There is also a man in a white lab coat who fits the description of Dr Knack; he's currently doing some soldering work on what looks like an electronic motherboard.
SpoilerIt's not X-Ray, I know, but Sekhmet doesn't. She's not all edumacated in that technomology and sciencey stuff :smalltongue:
Sekhmet spends a moment looking through the wall, still talking as she does. "Doesn't look like there's anything illegal going on or any security systems... A few little robots, but nothing that seems to be dangerous." She then holds up her hands and forms a box with her fingers "Aaaand the doctor is in." She smiled, pointing towards a segment of the wall but is hesitant to bash her way in as she did before for fear that she'll give another villain an excuse to get away.
"Wish the Avatar would come back and do some hero stuff around here..." She adds as she waits for some sort of sign.
"All right then. Let's go."
"Hang on a sec. How far away is Knack from the door? I might be able to grab him."
Sekhmet shrugs, taking a guess at it. "I dunno. 100 feet, maybe? I'm lousy with distances."
"Okay, I'm pretty sure that I can stretch that far." Leshii gets ready for their big entrance, and looks enquiringly at FX and Improv. "Incidentally, do either of you have a gadget that'll open the door? 'Cause if I did it, there's a pretty good chance it'll take too long and spoil the big surprise."
FX grins. "Sure, lemme try the knocker..."
((So, do you all go along with this plan? Powerhouse and Sekhmet bursting through the roof, FX obliterating the door to let himself, Leshii and Improv in?))
Sekhmet doesn't like the sound of this plan, no, not one bit... "If we go smashing in, aren't we gonna have to let him go later, then?" She asks in a worrisome way.
"I don't think that'll be a problem. Isn't he wanted, you know, everywhere?"
"Good to see the wheels of justice are turning."
Powerhouse shrugs "Alright...let's do this...be prepared for all sorts of weird crap" he says grumbling under his breath "I studied chemistry...not mad science" he said continuing forward looking for the others for confirmation that the were ready as well
"Okay then... Here goes!" Sekhmet says, levitating up towards the building and focusing for a moment before her entire upper body bursts into flames. Then, in one mighty flow, all the fire surges forth from her and hammers the roof, trying to smash it or burn it to cinders.
((Targeting the roof panel closest the doctor but not in any path to hurt him with debris and opening fire with fire blasts continuously due to the likelihood that he has force fields))
((That was the plan, yes... OOC. But no-one ever actually said that. Merely that busting in was fine. Sekhmet's just following instinct))
((Well, in that case, she's just disobeying orders by accident then))
