Ardon's attitude of 'well, monsters gotta eat too' is an echo of every annoyed audience's secret thought, 'Leave the damned idiot to fend for her or himself'.

That might involve talking to the Elder Kidney. I can't believe I wrote that with a straight face. I mean those things are ridiculous.
Looks like Kantaki got it right after all!

Re: Will Save World for Gold
Odie: Would it help the moral quandry to know that those babies will mature by devouring a slaves kidney and the transforming/taking over the slave's body.
Which...really doesn't make sense even when you take things like magic and psychic crab monsters from the future into account. I know these things are kidney themed, but that still doesn't explain why the kidney's would be the only thing that would have to go for them to turn a slave into a kidney pincher. Do they at least melt the brain with acid and/or psychic powers?

There is no moral quandary for Odie. He can walk away clean, knowing by now that Ardon will do the wet work. No loose threads. No enemies coming back to be recurrent nemeses,

Re: Will Save World for Gold
Moral quandary... Sure. It's not as if the clown in the mummy costume didn't mention how his kind grows up.
This why no one likes good aligned people. They have to make a drama out of everything.
Just fry them Odi. The only quandary about that is wether you serve them with a white or a red.
And what you choose as the side dish maybe.:smallamused:

Re: Will Save World for Gold
I love this comic. It's definitely one of the better ones I've ever read. The characters are fantastic, and their interactions are always entertaining.
I do wonder when we'll find out who that mysterious masked person is, though. I bet it's someone from Odie's village.

I thought she was a mummy.

If she was a mummy, then why have we never seen her use mummy blast?

Re: Will Save World for Gold
Because she's trying to hide her identity obviously.

Re: Will Save World for Gold
Man, those kidney pinchers - they're like discount, crabby mindflayers with a side of Mojo Jojo.
-
Re: Will Save World for Gold
Curse you, LSN!
Now I have to keep reading another five months!

Re: Will Save World for Gold
latest comic just makes me consider dming a custom play-by-post even more. Hope that some player has an evil/rival brother or sister or something that always tries to kill them.
Then the brother gets in trouble, or the PC gets in trouble from something bigger then the brother. So the PC/Brother help one annother despite everything because damnit they're still family.

Re: Will Save World for Gold
Nice to see Ardon's learned enough to come up with a better point than "why do they matter?"

Still a rather... evil approach.
Also does this mean that Ardon’s people keep the world in a technological stasis?
That's kinda worrying considering the kind of people we talk about.
-
Re: Will Save World for Gold
sounds like it. it would make sense if they were preventing their own technology from being stolen / abused, but if other cultures come up with it indepentantly... that's a whole different story alltogether.
-
Re: Will Save World for Gold
They've been depicted as unrepentantly evil at every possibility, so it's not like we should be surprised.

Well, for me at least the fact that they act the way they act makes the whole technology suppression more worrying.
I mean it would be bad either way, but if they were less evil I could fool myself into thinking they have some non-evil motivation.
Leaving the fact that a less evil society most likely wouldn't do that. Or at least not this way.

Man... she just can't catch a break...

From the smile on her face, I'd say she is gonna try to guilt them out of some loot while enjoying being shed of the whole resurrection thing.
Or I need to make a sarcasm check.

Re: Will Save World for Gold
Don't forget the mysterious bow person whose identity is entirely a mystery must have passed her on the way out and might have informed her of the armed people coming to kill everyone so she might have already known. Which makes guilting them into something more likely.

i saw it as her mind snapping a bit. like she /knoes/ it happened but is trying to hold on to faith, like when y6ou hear a sound in the night and just know your dog knocked over your new lamp.... again. but you're trying to pretend it didmt happen.
can almost see her eye twitching.

They use nukes?:smalleek:
I guess that explains where the time travelling seafood keeps coming from.
And if that is the case I suspect it's on purpose...

Welcome to Schmoopy's Boot's & Buttocks.
That's his future employment issues sorted.

Re: Will Save World for Gold
It fine since the important thing is that Schmoopy survived. But at this rate, Schmoopy might live forever which is a fate much worse than death.
