Re: (IC) Festival of Heroes - Outside Juvelnord City
Aurix nods at Gorrun's words. "That's a good point too. Hmm, this is interesting. Fuse grenades, earth shaping equipment, tunneling armor, and earth-shifting staves. But is it for mining or infiltration...?" Aurix looks over his shoulder towards the campfire as he muses for a moment. Then he grins. "You know what'd be really clever? If they were claim jumpers. Use Disguise wands to infiltrate the normal mining crew, but send their take down to the Drow city. The regular crew isn't here today, right? So the Drow didn't need their disguises, and were just sitting around as normal. We should probably check that Dwarf with True Seeing just to make sure he's who we think he is, see if maybe he can prove or disprove this." Aurix shakes his head. "Certainly would be interesting."

Re: (IC) Festival of Heroes - Outside Juvelnord City
"I doubt Uncle Hildebrand is a Drow in disguise, unless they studied his cadence and mannerisms before capturing and torturing him for information, but I don't want to be the Princess pickaxed in the back by a Drow disguised as her friend's uncle." Geiravir shrugged. "Shall we go back to see him?"
-
Re: (IC) Festival of Heroes - Outside Juvelnord City
Aurora tilted her head and scratched the side of her face. "I can carry you there and back extremely quickly, and I can cast 'True Seeing', but the spell will not cut through mundane disguise, only magical. Also, don't forget the reavers that fled. We don't know where they went, and if they block the path, we won't be able to pass without harming them further. If you're really concerned the old dwarf is a drow, who will be able to sneak past upset reavers to come stab us in the back, then I'll carry you back to check him out. Though if his goal was to sneak out of the mine once we were past him, he's had more than enough time to do so. I'm dubious of how much of a threat one drow trying to sneak up behind us would be though. There's six of us here, and all but one of us can see in darkness, so it's not as if the darkness would conceal him from us at all," she said with a shrug.

Re: (IC) Festival of Heroes - Outside Juvelnord City
Aurora moved easily through the water, thanks to her magic from earlier. When she entered the crystal room, she was struck by the beauty of the giant, blue-glowing crystals.
"Oh my," she breathed, "some of these are easily ten feet long!" She also made note of the well that was attracting Umbear. A small, almost volcanic-looking mound with an irregular-shaped well in the center. The water glowed a deeper, darker shade of blue than the crystals, and churned and bubbled aggressively. She turned to inspect the strange ore that glowed a faint blue-green. Dungeoneering: [roll0]

More water. Well, he was certainly clean now. The centaur moved through the high water easily, as it did not even brush his underbelly even in the deepest point. He moved into the room, keeping his distance from the well and the crystals. He did not like the glow of either.
We should get the crystals and get out quickly.

Re: (IC) Festival of Heroes - Outside Juvelnord City
Geiravor fluttered over the water. Coming into view of the crystal light, the Princess was awe-struck. As she walked down the corridor into the crystal cave chamber, the blue glow grew brighter. She was delighted when she entered the room. "Oh wow! It's beautiful in here!" Geiravor gasped. She marveled at the varied sizes and shapes of the crystals. Some were a perfect crystal while others were jagged like a dagger.

Markas' first punch seemed to pass through the cockatrice, its image flickering and reappearing about 2' from where it was a moment ago. The same thing happened with the second punch. The third punch landed squarely, and the cockatrice let out a surprised squawk as the monk's blow landed with enough force to hurt even through the beast's tough scales.
Markas' first and third slashes with his kama connected, but slid ineffectually across the cockatrice's scales, while the second slash had the same results as Markas' first two punches.

"Remember, Brynhildr told us to cut a crystal off with a magic blade instead of a pickaxe." Geiravor reminded. She slid her spear onto her back strap and drew her long sword as she walked to one of the larger crystals on the left side of the chamber.
"I happen to have a magic blade." She grinned.
