Pre-Musique Theatre of Tragedy was great, yeah.
And yeah, the first two or so albums of Lacuna Coil was pretty good. I actually own Comalies, and I think I just lost whatever credibility I had managed to build up, but I still listen to it occasionally. It's actually pretty okay if you're in the right mood.
Otherwise I still listen to Tristania and Sirenia. And Mortemia. (You can always pick out a Morten Veland band by its name, heh.) Katatonia used to be pretty good. Evereve, too.

Re: Metal Thread VII: The Mosh Pit Don't Start 'Til We Walk In
personally i view LC as one of the leading bands of the "Hey look we have a girl in our band OMG BOOBS" movement
it really ticks me off because its often a sexualisation made to make more money... :/

Oranssi Pazuzu and Devil's Blood come to mind.

Re: Metal Thread VII: The Mosh Pit Don't Start 'Til We Walk In
List! Thought I'd call it to attention for the black metal fans in the thread.
-
Re: Metal Thread VII: The Mosh Pit Don't Start 'Til We Walk In
Yeah, Vivian Slaughter is definitely hotter. Sorry, grimbold.
-
Re: Metal Thread VII: The Mosh Pit Don't Start 'Til We Walk In
Can I just submit for the record that Lori S would kick the **** out of any of the above mentioned?
-
Re: Metal Thread VII: The Mosh Pit Don't Start 'Til We Walk In
Because it goes without saying, and bringing it once again to everyone's attention would be redundant? :smallamused:

Re: Metal Thread VII: The Mosh Pit Don't Start 'Til We Walk In
Liz Buckingham is hotter than Slaughter or Lori. Sorry folks!

Re: Metal Thread VII: The Mosh Pit Don't Start 'Til We Walk In
On the other hand, Liz can barely play. :smalltongue:

Re: Metal Thread VII: The Mosh Pit Don't Start 'Til We Walk In
Has anyone here heard of the German band Nachtblut?

Alright, there's my obligatory Vivian Slaughter worship post. I'm done, I'm done.
For now.

Which one? The gothic metal one, or the black metal one? The black metal one split up, I think, and they weren't all that great anyway. I've heard some stuff by the other one, yeah. It's pretty good. That vocalist has an interesting style.

It helps that Jill Janus used to DJ for Playboy.
Topless DJs. Is that even a thing?
Also thanks to that black metal list I'm tempted to go try out Striborg now.

she must have a high level of pain tolerance to wear some of those dresses...

Re: Metal Thread VII: The Mosh Pit Don't Start 'Til We Walk In
Also if we're talking about a female vocalist battle royale, I'm pretty sure Runhild Gammelsæter would eat everyone else as a light afternoon snack.
Also also, speaking of Huntress, isn't their first album due to be released sometime soon? Oh wait, I see it's actually out already. Huh.
And I just found out that Thronar split up. That's unfortunate. They had two pretty good albums released.

Re: Metal Thread VII: The Mosh Pit Don't Start 'Til We Walk In
I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Cerebral Bore, Gallhammer, or Janaza yet. All three groups are pretty awesome.

Astrella couldn't beat up anyone. :smalltongue: Anyway, I'd say Janus has more of a tolerance for objectification than anything else. :smallsigh:

I have no idea whether we're talking about attractiveness or performance anymore. Performance wise though, Runhild takes the cake honestly. Her vocals she did with Khlyst are absolutely insane. Probably one of, if not the, best harsh vocal performances I've heard in any genre.

Vivian Slaughter from Gallhammer has been mentioned. Apparently Janaza is partially fake anyway. That band photo? Stolen from somewhere else. :smalltongue:

Re: Metal Thread VII: The Mosh Pit Don't Start 'Til We Walk In
I was talkin more about fistfights than anything else. :smalltongue:
-
Re: Metal Thread VII: The Mosh Pit Don't Start 'Til We Walk In
Doom women always win fist fights. I think crusties might beat them though. :smallwink:

Re: Metal Thread VII: The Mosh Pit Don't Start 'Til We Walk In
I think Kaki King is some form of martial arts grandmaster, though, just in case things head down that road...

Re: Metal Thread VII: The Mosh Pit Don't Start 'Til We Walk In
So I think it might be time to link these guys again. Local band from South Africa. I don't usually like death metal, but this guy's got the best death growl I've ever heard, by far.
The sound doesn't completely sync, but what the hell. You get the idea.

Huh, didn't register with me for some reason.
Yeah, crust women can get a little scary.

Stop the presses folks! there is MONGOLIAN themed folk metal
:D

Re: Metal Thread VII: The Mosh Pit Don't Start 'Til We Walk In
Good thing crusties are super cool punks and not like... neo-Nazis. But then again NSBMers mainly stand around in forests, dressed in fake armour, looking inbred.

Re: Metal Thread VII: The Mosh Pit Don't Start 'Til We Walk In
Your guys's crusties must be cooler than the sorts we get around here. I hate the crusties around here. :smallsigh:
