Lord Soth
"I know some of your plans, Wizard, not all of them. I was not involved with most of it, and I don't know everything of the results. Suffice to say, I would know far less if Kender did not speak so much."

Lord Soth
"I know some of your plans, Wizard, not all of them. I was not involved with most of it, and I don't know everything of the results. Suffice to say, I would know far less if Kender did not speak so much."
Dilvish is a little shocked, to say the least. He was just passing through, trying to find Jelarak. Now he's being told he has to find a dragon egg! "A dragon egg?! Just so we're clear on worlds here, dragons are the giant, flying death beasts that can generally be described as winged, armored, siege engines that breathe alchemist's fire, right? Dragons on this world don't happen to be large, winged lizards free of wit and malice, do they?" Dilvish emphatically wants to know what's in this for him.
Leonidas
Leonidas greets his fellow Spartans as they march into the city. From there they begin to scatter and take out the remaining Imperial troops. Leonidas comes to Lu-Tze.
"I am King Leonidas of Sparta. You are obviously not of this city nor one of our Elven allies. So who are you?"

Percy turns off of the main path to avoid the Calvary. He slowly makes his way towards the city. This is a potentially disastrous development but perhaps he could use it to his advantage. Instead of allying himself with the Empire they could weaken each other enough that neither pose a threat to Camelot.
Divlish
Theodric sighed. "A dragon egg. It is the king's most prized possession, in his capital. It's existence is perhaps the biggest cause for the war. A hundred years ago, the Dragon Riders used them to rule the world, and people see the egg as a way to do that again."
Lina Inverse
((I leave this to your capable hands))
Bilbo
"So even if sneak into the capital we don't know, find the location of the egg we don't know about, past the protections we have no knowledge of, overpower or trick the king we can't fight, we're just supposed to walk out of there with the King's most valued and guarded possession?" Bilbo says, before quickly smirking, "Sounds easy."
Lu-Tze
"Merely a student of the Way, and a humble Sweeper. Who is also a highly famous and decorated hero for doing things that never happened yet."
Raistlin
"The one good thing about this land of fools is the lack of that deplorable race."
Lord Soth
"I wouldn't say that; Kender are far more dangerous than you suspect." Soth says, again chuckling, "After all, they are the one race that even Istar was incapable of controlling."
Percy
The sun has set for the second time as you make it to UruBaen, winding up the narrow pass of the cliffs to make your way into the Empire's capital. As you come to the city, an enormous shadow passes over you. A dragon is flying out, surrounded by thousands of smaller shadows, impossible to make out in the murk.
Lina Inverse
"LITTLE GIRL? FLAT-CHESTED?! Well, if you want power, you can have it!"
*music begins to play (1:41)*
She raises her hands and an orb of power starts to form between them. The intensity of the gathering magical energy throws up a strong wind which tosses her hair and cloak wildly.
Coming to his senses, Gourry shouts "W-wait, Lina! You can't use that here!"
Ignoring him, she begins to chant.
"Darkness beyond twilight,
Crimson beyond blood that flows,
Buried in the flow of time,
In thy great name I pledge myself to darkness..."
A white-faced Gourry leaps from the roof and starts to flee towards the gate. The Shade hesitates, staring at his behaviour in confusion. Then his eyes widen as he realises just what is about to happen.
"...Let all the fools who stand in our way be destroyed,
By the power that you and I possess!"
"Let's see if you're so tough after you've seen the ultimate spell of black magic! DRAGON SLAAAAAAVE!!!"
The power between her hands swells and bursts forth into an overwhelming stream of crimson light which impacts the ground near the Shade's feet. He attempts to leap to safety, but is caught in the explosion which expands to consume everything in its path.
In mere moments, a third of Teirm has been reduced to a smouldering crater.

Gourry looks on the ruins and sighs. "Well, there goes the neighborhood. Do you have to do that every time, Lina?"
Lina's fist connects downwards with Gourry's head. "I don't do that every time. Now come on, we've got to find some place else to get some info."
I've never heard of any place called "Teirm", but a large port city like that would have to be on the maps. Plus, I don't recognise the uniform those guards were wearing. Xellos, what kind of place did you send us?

Amidst the rubble, one tavern keeper sobs quietly.

Dilvish
For a few moments, Dilvish stands in abject horror, only able to mutter out, "You are a strange and suicidal little man, aren't you?" Instinct tells Dilvish he needs to leave. This is far beyond his scope. How in the Seven Hells is Jelarak involved in this? And why?
Elric
Stifling under the warrior's presence, Elric feels the magic ring on his finger and prays:
"Lasshaar, Lord of Winds,
Duke of Typhoons, King of Sylphs,
Hear my plea.
I call on you by the ancient pacts of our people.
I beseech you on behalf of my father and his father and his fathers before him.
I am at your mercy, oh Lasshaar. All my people are your slaves. We do not live without you.
We do not feel without you. We are not without you.
Lasshaar, mighty Lasshaar!
Who strikes with lightning and binds with thunder!
Who caresses with Summer breeze and creeps with Autumn chill,
Grant me a boon, Lasshaar, in this moment of need,
Oh Teeth of Winter!
Bestow unto me a blessing
That I might run and seem as your servants,
A breeze, a zephyr, a clear absence.
Lasshaar, oh Lasshaar, aid me wind lord.
Bilbo
Bilbo smiles, shrugs, and says, "I've traveled to many places and lived far longer than my kind should, and but a few days ago found myself returned to my prime, when I traveled with a dwarven king; to an age where I riddled with Gollum, escaped giant spiders, and helped kill a dragon. Compared to all of that, this feels like a walk in the park. Hell, I even have 'The One Ring,' and it has all the benefits with none of the drawbacks here."
Elric
There is silence, then you feel a disturbance. A faint breeze. The a wind, then finally a gale, as the air rushes to your command. Yes? Comes a voice, breathy and insubstantial, yet haughty and proud, as the lord of the winds answers your prayer.
You feel you can almost make out a figure, tall and slim in flowing robes and a pointed crown floating in the air.
Divlish/Bilbo
Theodric stares at you. The big man seems to have very good hearing. "Suicide? No. If there is one thing I know, it's that sometimes you can get further on pure audacity then careful planning." Then he blinks. "What is this ring?"
Lina Inverse
You can see a crowd of people making there way towards you. At the moment they look shocked, but that will soon give way to naked rage as they realize who is responsible.
"I require your aid, Lord Lasshaar. A powerful sorcerer dwells in that tower. He plots against all worlds and all peoples. He intends to unleash a plague of horrors that even the Lords of Chaos feared enough to lock away. I must know what he plans, through some means. Be that through one of your infinite children as a spy, or by some shape or magic you grant me, I must stay hidden, my Lord Lasshaar. Please, King of Sylphs, lend me your grace and power."
Bilbo
"It's a useful trinket from my world; it has all the power of the Dark Lord Sauron; a powerful and evil man, if not a god, stored inside it and if brought to him could revive him. In this land, so far from him, it becomes a sort of all purpose tool. It has many abilities, the most powerful being to enact a powerful magic on my armor that makes it nigh impregnable, despite being so light." Bilbo says, weaving a quick deception that implied the ring did everything except what it really did.
Elric
Suddenly feel yourself lighter, as the elemental lord takes you, lifting you up as though you weigh nothing, and weaving a cloak of the air itself around you, hiding you from sight. It does not give you true invisibility, rather, mimicking the colors behind in the manner of a charmeleon. It would not fool close observation, but it would be enough to fool at a distance.
Lina
They find nothing, the two of you long gone. As you wind your way around the coast, you find an old smugglers trail, leading through the mountains that nestle around Terim.
Bilbo
Theodric looks worried. "I will give you anything you require, in this. it affects us all." He says. "I wish you all the best." Then he laugh. "But that is a thing for tomorrow. Tonight, feast, be merry, and enjoy my finest hospitality."
"We'll do our best to get that egg, if my name isn't Bilbo Baggins." Bilbo says, smiling. He turns to his ally, "Well, we'd best get to that capital...do you have a map?" He perks up at the thought of a good meal.
Elric
Silent and swift as a shadow, Elric slips from Parias' grasp and creeps towards the nearest tunnel entrance, prepared to descend.
Dilvish
"A map? I hardly have any common sense if I'm going with you. You will have to excuse me. I must consult my traveling companion."
Elric
The passages were a mix of cut passages and unworked stone that glistened with damp. Passages ended abruptly or bled into each other, and seemed to follow no rhyme, or reason.
Your crimson eyes do not adjust to the darkness, and you are forced to find your way by smell and touch as much as anything.
((You are eaten by a Grue :smallwink:))
Divlish
The feast gets rowdier, singing and dancing. While the portions seem smaller then you would expect, everyone is undeniably merry.
You are able to slip out with out attracting attention.
((Assuming you're joking about the Grue. Right? RIGHT?!))
Elric
Elric whispers a quick invocation, summoning a small fire demon. The will o' wisp is no bigger than the albino's fist, and hovers about him, casting light for the summoner.
Dilvish
Dilvish stalks into the stables. Black is in the corner, sulking that he has been resigned to this undignified bearing. The iron horse angrily neighs, "And what now? Am I to take small children for a ride as well?"
"No, but you might have to take me. We seem to have run into some dark circumstances." Dilvish hastily explains to Black about Bilbo and the dragon's egg. Pondering for a moment, Black snorts, "A tricky trip indeed. But why so reluctant? You have been through Hell."
"And I am not eager to return."
"You are letting panic control you. Think for but a moment. The people of this world are in peril. Why do you run away? You did not run away from the village on our home when it required our aid."
"Defending a village from a mage is quite different from defending a world from a draconic plague... But I see your point. We must at least -try- to aid these folk."
"Indeed. But also consider this. Jelarak is a mage, correct? And it is a well known fact that mages will be drawn to power."
"... Which dragons have in copious amounts. I'm starting to see a pattern, old friend. You truly are a loyal and wise companion."
"Jelarak will be with your dragon egg. If not, then he is more of a foll then either of us could have thought."
"Thank you, Black. It is always good to know you are at my side."
Elric
((Of course))
The fire sprite dances around, giving off just enough pale light to see by. It's weak, cold light gave was enough to ensure you did not bump into walls, but details were lost on him, blurring into indistinct shapes, and he could barely make out which way to go.
They might have been walking an hour or an eternity, but all you can be sure is that your hopelessly lost, when the passage ends, an odd, silvery substance blocking the way.
Raistlin
Still riding towards Soth's keep, 'Arya' turns to Soth once more. "Be that as it may, Krynn would be far better off without them. How many more leagues, Soth?"
In the distance, you can see the empty shell of Beltona. Soth's keep is perhaps an hours ride, perched like a stone spider, blasted feet gripping the blighted ground.
Lord Soth
"About an hour. That's where you're wrong, wizard. They add a certain....power to Krynn; not only that, but it's rather entertaining to see some of the things they do. Tell me, have you ever seen a nation attempt war on the Kender land? It ended in the invading army collapsing withen a few weeks; a mixture of the fact that they couldn't ever find enough food, their weapons disappearing in the middle of the night, and the one open battle ended with the hungry ill-equipped army fighting an enemy who slipped into the force and attacked them inside and out." Soth recounted the story as he continued to march, wondering if anyone had gotten suspicious about why two people who were at each other's throats not an hour ago where calmly discussing things.
Raistlin
The archmage grunts. Riding away from Soth, 'Arya' declares that she now has 'some measure of confidence in the man, however unwarranted.'
Varden
You arrive at the keep just after dusk. On the horizon you can see campfires of an approaching army, but it is impossible to gauge their numbers from this distance.
Lord Soth
Soth sees the incoming army, attempting to gauge their distance; it's important for the plan so he knows how to space the lines.
Perhaps half a day's march. Maybe a bit less.
Leonidas
"What way would that be, sweeper?" the king asked the rather odd janitorial monk.

Percy continues to ride towards the city. Even with the Ebony Blade he alone won't be able to do much against the assaulting horde but he would have to try something.
Lu-Tze
"It is the Way of Mrs Marietta Cosmopilite, 3 Quirm Street, Ankh-Morpork, Rooms For Rent, Very Reasonable. And I was glad to find it."
