Yes, I was actually surprised too. Though admittedly it probably sneaked in somehow, because it sounds different than the other voice thing I did, the ABR wikipedia article The Age of Dragons. I should have a less pronounced accent there.

Thank you, it makes me happy that I made somebody laugh. If you do change dialogue scenes, good luck!
Lyinginbedmon, you can sing well! Though the two different voices you used in the piece before the song were not that different.
Further, Woestijn is also dutch word, it means Desert, and does not rhyme with estrogen. Though I don't really know how to tell you how to pronounce it using the written word.. hm, perhaps there is another page in Remember where Woestijn is mentioned..
(On http://nl.wiktionary.org/wiki/woestijn the linked file behind the speaker icon should say it, but I have yet to get it to work..)
Mechafox, nice speech and nice bonus scene too, hah. Though your breathing in is audible, is this because your breath is loud or because the microphone is close?
Also, voicing the stuff is fun, so I want to do another. :smalltongue: Let's see if I can find a page from Remember perhaps? I hope you won't mind me trying with my voice, Lyinginbedmon. Heh.

Yeah, I know it's Dutch (I used a fairly sucky translator online to make the Grisgol/Erenatl speak it as a language), and regardless of how it's actually pronounced (I can't get that file to work either) I pronounce it Vo-es-tijun. In theory I'm Word Of God for this so I'm right :smalltongue:
Go ahead, I'm enjoying the readings so far.

Microphone's close. It's not very strong, but I'll experiment with having it farther away. I need to get a real microphone. I've just been using my camera.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
TnD, photobucket has a limit on the images you can upload; just change that to 1MB instead of the image dimensions.
Edit; found an old crappy microphone, I'll see how well it works.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
@ Tired 'n Drowzy: That comic seems a little like god-modding to me. You have no idea what Grim Ranger would've done or what his story is.
Unless you asked him in a PM. Did you?
-
Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
Ahh. Whatever; Imageshack is working just fine (I think).
EDIT: Actually we were PMing each other. He told me to do that.
EDIT EDIT: Yes.

Then nevermind.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
At Tired 'N Drowzy: That doesn't seem to be very... realistic, from an in-universe perspective. Choosing a side is normally more complicated than that, I think. (If it's supposed to be just funny, I retract my statements).
-
Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
I though it was funny. Most people in-universe have no idea why they're fighting for whatever they're fighting for.
-
Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
It sort of is supposed to be a parody.
Almost nobody actually wants the new guys to follow them around. Also, look for lines making references to previous comics (actually, only look for one, as I only put one in).
It's probably fairly obvious, but it's a TnD line about four panels from the end (I didn't go back to check).

I shifted side two times, Q seems to have made his own side, and it's still hard to tell who's good/evil from time to time so... Not so much

Q does. Both Q do. So does Bortak.
Just saying.

Ooh, ooh! I know what my characters reasons are! The citadel must be destroyed to hinder it's inhabitant's (Who are evil! Evil I say! They destroyed Salmonville, Blauport and attempted to attack Tajira) search for the talisman, which must never be found, ever. *nods*

Everybody knows what they fight for but almost no-one has a good reason.

I personally think my characters have some pretty damn good reasons for doing most of the stuff they do.
There is that 15% of stuff Q does for no real reason, but other then that, I think my characters are pretty solid.
-
Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
I think trying to stop the coming of a second empire and the destruction of most of the world is a pretty good reason.

It is my belief that every sane person must have a sufficiently good motive to be on a side, but again this is Avatar Battle Royale.
On another note: is anyone going to make a comic about the Rescue Leroy main plot ? It seems to move sluggishly slow.

What reasons GSQ seems to do stuff for fun and RSQ because of boredom.

Or so they all think. I mean, is it the citadel that brings "death and destruction" or is it just that the citadel happens to follow it around? :smalltongue:

Nope, it's definitely the citadel. *nods*

Just because you think it's a good reason doesn't mean it is especially not in ABR:tongue:

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
Aside whole "Good-Evil"-axis, I think my char will work mostly on some principles, owned favours and most importantly money-all practial reasons. But this is ABR, so even that could go little overdoze...:smalltongue:

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
I'm finishing up some ABR character templates, so far I've done Mad Mask, Calamity, Lying, Q, Drowzy and the Randomizer. They're in a completely new, non-stick figure art style and I'd also appreciate some critique to see if it would be okay to use it in ABR.

That's not quite true.
You see, both Qs are working for a very specific goal that I've already shared, that has a lot to do with a big guy I created known as Vert Doom.
Vert Doom has kidnapped "GSQ"'s girlfriend, and is keeping her hostage. Both Qs now must obey Vert Doom's commands so that they may get her back. "RSQ" is simply helping "GSQ".
(Almost) Everything the Qs have done was for Vert Doom so that he may eventually release "GSQ"'s girlfriend.

Great ! It's refreshing to see someone departing from the mainstream. Unique art (even by a little bit) is always welcome in my book. Could you post your templates, or do you want to wait until you've done a comic ?

*points to Dark Lord Bright, Lord Xeno, and Sprite Wars*
It's okay.

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
I still need to read the archives and make a character. I might make a god-mod parody as an example.
-
Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XIII, No Plot for YOU!
Alright, I made another video voice over thing and put it on Youtube. Remember, Book 2, Page 13. It has Woestijn in it, so yay. Also, it seems like I got rid of Grim Ranger's accent. Which makes me wonder how it got there in the first place.. I realise the voice for the girl is not my best effort, but it is annoying to switch tones immediately after another, heh. Oh well, enjoy.
Woestijn!

I probably pronounced Erenatl wrong, but at least I know Woestijn is properly pronounced in dutch in the video above. Also translated a bit more than that.. But funny to see you using dutch in such a way.

Ah, that explains. I am using my webcam for it and the webcam has been sitting about 20-30cm from my mouth.
