Given this is a bastard game and last time I assumed a returning town was town I got burned, I'm just saying I'm 100% assuming you didn't exist in this game prior to your resurrection and you're entering the game for the first time.

Nothing to worry about there. I'm rather committed to not using my next shot until I can put a few trustworthy heads together. I'm sure you understand why.

The face that greets you on its screen is no longer a cartoon smile; a nightmare seems to glare down at you all.
The eyes focus on a single figure huddled away from the majority of the others, back turned. The Securitron tears forward, metallic parts screeching against each other as it bears down on the hapless figure. The man's head quirks, not even turning to face the robot as it comes close to running him over.
"Not now Yes Man, are you trying to get me caught?!"
The pair of clawed hands lance forward, closing painfully around the man's midriff and jerking him several feet above the ground. Shock, followed by pain and terror show on his face. A veritable avalanche of numbers flicker across the Securitron's face in response, far eclipsing that which Yes Man's screen had shown.

Returning to the leering face, the Robot wastes no time in carting the man off to the rear of the Casino.

"Well I must have the Black Widow Perk because I made him regret $%^@ing with me."

"Well I thought it was a good joke."

"Cazero, if your role is indeed a jailer. You have the chance tonight to jail me. I will say that I strongly do believe you to be the wolf and if I die to wolves tonight am noting this now in the hopes that you are executed tomorrow. However with some proof of your abilities, I could advocate for you tomorrow."
"On a further note. Our two wolves so far appear to have proper names. I had discounted this theory due to the Drifter, but that is a title not a name and the Drifter is a friendly fellow. Mr. House and Benny are not. It does make me wonder if we have a Caesar, a Ulysses, Father Elijah, Lanius. Though we have had a disappointing lack of brain stealing aliens or rocket ships filled with ghouls. I do love rocket ships."

Well, if we're arguing about credit, I did spend most of two days arguing for yeeting Jeen. But there should be enough of it to go around (not to mention that getting enough of it probably means a big NK target on one's back :smalltongue: ).

Yeah, I was thinking something similar. In regards to the Drifter, I kinda suspects that it's not specifically a reference to the Lonesome Drifter since he's a rather minor character to begin with. Considering Mr House and Benny are – at least in the backstory – part of the same faction, I would guess the rest of the wolves are from that one as well (maybe the heads of the other Vegas families?) but that's just a hunch.

The doors burst open and a battered Compulsive Gambler is tossed back into the casino floor.
"Get ya hands off me, ya filthy pit bosses. I didn't do nuthin."
Once the mysterious suited goons leave, the Compulsive Gambler pulls a smuggled folder out of their pants. Tired and without comment, they toss it on a table.
They then descend on the chair opposite JeenLeen and draw their starting hand.
"Generous Charity: draw 3, discard 2"
"Upstart Goblin: draw 1. You gain a thousand life."
"...Upstart Goblin again."
"Pot of Greed: draw 2."
"Upstart Goblin again. That's +3000 life total for you this turn.
"Uhh, then Generous Charity Again."
They then turn out their hand.
"I have The Five Pieces of Exodia. Win."
(ooc: this is slightly out of the timeline of flat's posts, but it's funny so I'm keeping it.)
This seems to invigorate them, and they get on stage with barely a glance at the rest of you. It's clear they've had a while to plan this speech in advance.
I lied. If you disturb my sleep, I won't hurt you. I said that because I knew I was going to get exonerated by the flip, so it would be fine to lie early. But still, don't use powers on me, for selfish reasons I won't explain. You don't have any reason to target me, anyway.
- You don't need to scry me, because I've already flipped Green.*
- You don't need to void or vortex, because my role is passive (at least, the part that you know of).
- Securitron, just try and bust me. See what happens.
- You don't need to protect me, because it's fine if I'm busted again.
*I realize there could be a possibility that I actually switched sides as part of the emergency loan that let me out of the Busted holding cell. To make myself a non-threat, I present this promise: if four people tell me to not vote on a given day, then I will not vote.
If you still want me out of the game, then just vote me out. That's okay, it won't be a great loss for town. Just don't scry me, please.
Oh, and:
Athedia, deal me in for the next hand please.
----------
The folder reads "Notes from the Holding Cell for Busted Participants."
(not direct quotes)
Day 2
flat_footed - there are several bastard mechanics in play right now. One of them is the Vault 11 Win Condition. If there had been no votes on Day 1, then everyone would have won.
Day 3
Murska - People are making the assumption that I know who's on my side.
CaoimhinTheCape - So you're not connected to your side?
Murska - No, I know my side. It's just that there is no public evidence I'm even part of the wolf team.
CaoimhinTheCape - I guess so... but the red color is a good assumption. However if any wolf was going to be on his own, House would be the one.
Day 4
corncobweb - Can you tell me about your role scries?
CaoimhinTheCape - I tried to use it once and it didn't go through. It was prevented.

Re: WW/Mafia Fallout 3: Forecast - Rapidly Changing Conditions
It appears I owe Athedia an apology after all. I don't love the speculation on names - that was something to keep tp yourself until after wolves have claimed, to catch them out - but I'm willing to shelve that suspicion for now, given Jeen's flip. Thanks for that blade.
Now, am I paranoid enough to think that Blade could be a very ruthless bussing wolf for towncred? Yes. But uh, good work so far.

Just in case I get shanked :
N1, I jailed myself. That's why Cao couldn't read my power.
N2, I jailed Lentrax. No visible results.
I'll keep my N3 jailing a surprise.

Aren't notifications like that usually sent by EoN (if they're given at all)?
Anyhow, I'm about to head to bed and just in case I wake up dead, I figured I'd summarize my thoughts. I would prefer posting this closer to EoN, but time zones are what they are and I don't think there's anything here that would help the wolves tonight.
As I've already mentioned, I'm a little worried that Jeen was hoping that Caz would get killed. It's possible I'm wrong and Jeen was just pretending to be a townie to the best of his ability, even if that included encouraging the killing of a wolf buddy (or maybe it's even a double bluff, aiming for exactly my reaction), but I think it's a definite possibility. So if not Caz then who? I think Kraken and Illven are both possible, though I'm not particularly sure about either of them. I also have a bad feeling about Persolus, even if I can't quite put my finger on why.
As for townreads, I would say I trust Athedia, blade and BW in descending order (while it's possible that a wolf voted Jeen, I think there are enough other reasons to trust at least Athedia and blade and if BW was bussing, he did so in a pretty weird way). It's tempting to trust CCW, but I think I agree with blade on the matter. I'm leaning towards trusting AV's claim, but... well, it's AV. Assuming they're honest, it does seem like having AV in the deadchat could be useful, especially towards the end of the game, but I'm still hesitant to "waste" a day on it.
Spoiler: A random super paranoid idea that can probably be ignored
Show
A thought occurred to me that maybe the lack of the usual numbers in the EoD post was because the lucky number was zero, rather than blade doing anything. Of course, that still means blade was bussing Jeen in a situation where it could be easily avoided and the fluff in the post also suggests something out of the ordinary happened, so I don't put much faith in this idea.

Caz is town. Ath is town.
I think Kraken is wolf, esp after that blatant attempt to raise paranoia against me.

Well, it's refreshing to know you can't read my townplay.
Have you considered that maybe BCH does not have a monopoly on indecision? :P
Also like it does feel like you have been doing a lot less cryptic prodding compared to recent town games, so like.
But hey we're in a good enough position, I am okay dying if necessary.

"Okay that is fair. I haven't been jailed in the past so I only know how it works through movies. Other suspects include Kraken, for the way the first vote went and Illven. I really hope it isn't Illven. But I guess we just have to watch for tonights death."

I will say that if there is any notification of being jailed, I didn’t get one.

Re: WW/Mafia Fallout 3: Forecast - Rapidly Changing Conditions
Helloooo!
Three hearty cheers for bladescape saving the Athedia/Jeen situation and corncobweb's 'release'! I feel like an idiot now. I ought to know what a great liar Jeen is. (And to top off the joy in these small victories, I have two new ceramic plates, and they were fun to make).
Anyway. Quick planning.
We should policy lynch Cazero next, right? At least that seems to be the mood/general opinion.

I know a player on MU who always hard pairs with a townie when he's a wolf. I have since become paranoid of policy lynching and association lynches. I've been stung and made a fool of.
Ccw, is it favorable if we have you shot sometimes to get a peek in deadchat, or will it not work again? No idea if that's possible since there's been no sign of a vig, but if that's a good thought, I'd like to know.
Athedia, can you deal me into Blackjack?
I'll see y'all again soon as I can.

Re: WW/Mafia Fallout 3: Forecast - Rapidly Changing Conditions
The injured man had fallen asleep almost immediately, though in truth, it was more passing out than anything. A few people tend to him, trying to do what they could for his injuries. Others scavenge the mostly deserted Casino floor for any supplies that may have been left behind. Having something to focus on, helping another less fortunate soul, lights a spark of hope in the group. A short cry of triumph cuts through the air as one person finds a small metallic container filled with small round pills. It's hard to tell exactly what they are, but any medicine is better than none. The injured man manages to swallow a few even in his unconscious state.
Concern for the man sparks debate within the group, and insults start to sing through the air as fingers are pointed. The immediate need addressed, thoughts have turned once again to blame, and there is plenty to be handed out. Two figures start shoving each other, each touch escalating the conflict. One figure stumbles hard into a slot machine, their head striking it with a *crack*. Dazed, blood dripping down a cut into one eye, the person draws a small pistol and aims it wildly. The weapon fires, the flash of muzzle and roar of the gunpowder robbing most of you of your senses. Your hearing slowly comes back and your blurred vision sharpens, revealing a figure collapsed on the floor. Eyes stare in shock at the crumpled form, scarcely believing what just happened.
Voices start calling out from the back of the Casino and several suited men run at the group, eyes full of accusation and various weapons in their hands. They soon spy the gunshot victim and hurriedly drag them back the way they had come, two of their number sheathing their weapons to shoulder the burden. Pairs of beady eyes sweep across the group, before one of them widens with surprise. "Well look who we have 'ere. You gave us quite the run, you did!" Following the thug's gaze, his eyes are training on the escaped man from the previous day. Foam flecks his mouth as a second figure tries to shield the defenseless form from his former captors. "You know, harboring a fugitive from justice is a crime," the thug says threateningly. "And you'll share his fate!" Hands grab at both figures, forcing them both to stand and begin walking. Jeers and curses pelt them as they start a slow procession to the back of the Casino.
"YES MAN!" one of them calls out, lagging behind his fellows. A familiar -whirr- fills the air as the cartoonish grin is soon within view. "Keep an eye on this lot. Make sure they don't get any ideas."
corncobweb has been busted. They were the Compulsive Gambler.
AvatarVecna has been busted. They were the Queen of Spades.
Cuthalion has been busted. They were the Hacker.
The smile shines down at you all, and the hated speakers full the air with a familiar cadence.
Congratulations, today's Lucky Number is 5!
Day 4 has begun and will end in ~93.5 hours.

Re: WW/Mafia Fallout 3: Forecast - Rapidly Changing Conditions
So AV got their wish, at least. Maybe a helpful vig? (Which would be pretty funny, considering AV's stance on vigs).
Not sure how to interpret the part with CCW and Cuthalion, I wonder if it's just fluff for a wolf kill or if CCW caused Cuthalion's death somehow? And was CCW killed again or is this part of the role? If Cuthalion is a normal wolf kill, it does seem like an odd target, maybe they have some equivalent to the lucky number mechanic screwing with their aim?
To get things started, let's go with Illven (aiming for Let'sGetKraken).

Funny side-note: Considering the forum was being ridiculously slow, I was expecting having to spend ten minutes and five attempts to post the above, but as soon as I tried it not only got posted, but the forum has been lightning fast since. Clearly I have the magic touch. :smalltongue:

Less funny side-note: The result of my magic touch appears to have lated roughly long enough for me to brag about it. Probably a good decision to prolong the day if this keeps up. :smallsigh:

"Oh and he is gone again. Will someone take over his hand? Also I will say I will for now at least consider Cazero town. His claim checked out. I believe CCW was only back temporarily, a final hurrah. We should use the information he got us well. Now I am okay following the thought of voting for Illven to remove Let'sGetKraken, for now at least. My thoughts may change. I would also like Lady Serpentine to speak for a bit. Give us your thoughts and your takes. We haven't even really seen many votes."

Re: WW/Mafia Fallout 3: Forecast - Rapidly Changing Conditions
Note I will be busy the first half of this day phase. (So really happy it got extended)
Today is romance goth priestess in baldur's gate 3.
Tomorrow is Pokemon day at the aquarium. More importantly it's my birthday, and since water type is LEGALLY best type. I *have* to go.

Illven (Let'sGetKraken)
Your magic touch somehow made things worse. I couldn't post at all yesterday lol.
I think CCW is the wolf kill. Makes most sense to me. If it was part of CCW's role then he would've said it last night. The way he talked made me think he was gonna last longer than a single phase.
Also ngl I forgot Ti was in this game.

AV actually might be the kill too. I admit I kinda just assumed they'd done something to off themselves but maybe wolves did that.
Probably not though, that feels dumb for wolves.

Re: WW/Mafia Fallout 3: Forecast - Rapidly Changing Conditions
Same issues, only getting on now.
But no, sorry, two possibilities:
1) Blade can't read my townplay, which is good if I am going to die;
2) I can read wolf!blade (this game at least)
Either way I am going to be insufferable.
No way I can persuade you to vote elsewhere? I can claim, it's just less useful if wolves know what I can do.

Yeah, if the wolves heard "If I die, I can better help town win" and thought "That's a great NK target" it would certainly be a... unique strategy.
I agree that if any one of them was a wolf kill (I'm not making any assumptions about this game :smalltongue: ), it was probably CCW.

Make a good case against someone else. I think you're the best choice at the moment, but not great one, so I wouldn't mind switching if there was a good reason.

Give me some reads. Some thoughts. Some analysis.
Give me a reason to believe you care about something more than "I don't wanna be voted." Because that's all I'm getting so far. And if your only intent is "don't vote me" you're not town.

Re: WW/Mafia Fallout 3: Forecast - Rapidly Changing Conditions
Hello, very late good evening for y'all.
Just how did those three deaths happen, I wonder? I'm hoping we continue to get ccw back, the dead chat's a good resource to mine.
AV wanted to die, I recall. That is making me curious.
Happy birthday Illven!
Illven with the intent of LetsGetKraken but I really hope we're not putting Illven at risk.

I feel like I have previously - I thought Athedia was a wolf, something is pinging me about both your and BCH's play, and we almost certainly have a wolf hiding in the less active players.
I think Cazero's power claim could very very easily be a wolf power and Jeen might just have been bussing or distancing, but he's nowhere near the top of my list.
Will do a reread on desktop later. Been a busy week, is all.

Feel free to elaborate as you get time.
There are absolutely blind spots in what I'm reading rn (Ti for example, honestly don't remember anything she's done.), but your positioning so far has matched with what I expect out of a partner of Murska and Jeen.
Caz could be wolf but Murska wouldn't willingly put a wolf-jailkeeper (we have confirmation that Caz is JK either way) in danger D1 if it wasn't necessary. Like the value of a role like that - unless other wolves roles are crazier - is too high for a random bus on D1 imo.
I look forward to your chance to provide further thoughts. May the forum be in your favour.
