Of course it's canon! What else could it be? :3
The real question is why nomen carries so many of them, my bet is that they are either filled with thaumacards, can dance or allow Nomen to fly. :smalltongue:

So... a new page!
SpoilerConsidering the glomp panel, contents of the big bag are indeed very light.
Haha!
Loving Wendy/Nomen interaction.
Not doing so, but it occurred to me that some people might start with WendyXNomen. Ugh, shipping.
If any relationship happens between them, it'll be as brother/sister or father/daughter one. Not a romantic or sexual one. She's a little girl who wants to learn cool stuff, and he's an adult man whose protective instincts have been tugged on. Anything else than a pseudo-familial situation would be sick.
That was a good hug. I approve of the hug.
...
Let's go back to balloon animals, shall we?
Like thi-
...
Sorry, wrong pocket.
Sadly no balloon animals.
Elagune never ceases to make me laugh. Great start, I'm looking forward to learning the ropes of Thaumaturgy.
1. Very, very nice chapter-ending page.
2. I adore this mechanical monstrosity with wicked smile on it's front.
3. Did anyone decode the name of this town?
I really have to ask... How is Adam driving that thing? Cool page though. I am increasingly jealous of Adam's hat.
Am I the only one getting a Shaggy/Scooby vibe from Nomen, totally not because I'm watching a Scooby movie right now. Great comic.
Great first chapter. Going to see if I can get my brother reading it too - nope, not interested, just a grunt from him. :smallfrown:
Still, very awesome action, funny characters, enjoyable plot. Once again, I applaud your genius.
Title page.
Oh god. I just made a Bibliography reference.
birds look like they're on fire. Are they the visitors mentioned? :smallwink:
Seriously, they could either be brightly colored birds, or the construct of a pyrosopher. Either one, really.
Good work as always.
New page
Okay, I give up. I think every time I say the word "page" it's a Bibliography reference. :smalltongue:
Those animals must have some tough teeth.
So wait, animals eat the gears? Where do the gears come from?:smallconfused:
And if the local animals eat blacksteel, does it actually have to be forged into gears?
Or do they naturally happen in this form? Given how Mr. Exposition says that scientists have finally figured out a possible use for them; I'd guess they are somehow a natural phenomenon. (Or a Wizard Did It so long ago that it's part of the ecosystem now.) Though it'd be kinda funny to have had an entire industry dedicated on creating giant gears and just spreading them all over the landscape, then a long time after, someone came up with the idea of building machines with them instead; and everyone was very impressed. :smalltongue:
Since we haven't seen any animals yet, I doubt they're real world critters. Probably some weird-ass beetle/pig hybrid as a herd animal or something.
I would have gone with "quality and quantity" instead of "quality and amount", but that's probably just me.
Who says they need to be cyborgs to eat metal? :smalltongue:
