Hi, I'm Lord Raziere, and you will probably think I'm annoying, stubborn or a jerk at some point or another. I like telling stories a lot, which is why I roleplay. I am also a fan of various anime shows that I consider awesome, various other webcomics that I think are cool, and I am both uncertain whether or not I'm actually transgender and about my future. I also like to make art in many forms. Welcome to the kinda-happy thread of dysfunctional nerds all trying to comfort each other with hugs. I don't actually show up in this thread often. I'm just randomly introducing myself because I can.

Dysfunctional?! I prefer to think of myself as alternately functional thank you very much!

Just been to see my GP. I'm getting referred to Exeter!

Which one's crazier? My US history prof. always had bad things to say about South Carolina, but she never mentioned North Carolina.

Hey, presentations! Let's do this.
I'm Caroline, 24, and I love bananas, coloured pens and rainbows. I wear happiness giving things like bows and flowers and shinies and similar things. I also wear regular clothes in addition to these, obviously, it's sort of not that warm at the moment. I'm a history student in college, I'm starting my master's next year and I'm completely overworked, and will remain overworked even after the semester's over. I inhabit humid continental zones and wear spectacles.

Oh! Yay, movement  IIRC, this means you won't need to wait for Charing Cross?

Re: LGBTAI+ #50: Warning: This topic has exceeded its maximum awesome level.
Ooh, introductions. Introductions are neat. Scary, but neat! ^_^
I'm Kristina, 19, addicted to chocolate, studying stuff at a university here in Denmark and drawing silly stuff from time to time. Pretty certain about being trans, but really really frightened of coming out and thus a bit stuck when it comes to transitioning. I like purple things, video games, comics, manga, anime, other forms of animation and a lot of other media. Also seem to have a thing for Kobold avatars.
@Tamsin: I think that's good, so yay? ^_^'

Nice one!
Well, if charing cross are telling the truth about having appointments out in July, Exeter will be a longer wait - I think I've heard it has a four month waiting list, and that seems optimistic. On the other hand, I've heard they provide a better service than charing cross, and the 13 month wait with no information hadn't exactly filled me with confidence.

But then, maybe they (EDIT: Exeter) will actually give you hormones on the first meeting. ?

Fingers crossed for you, Tamsin! You have waited far too long (and too patiently, imo) to be pushed back again.

Maybe things are different in the UK, but in Sweden the early appointments generally go to those who nag the most.

I do not think there is anyone to nag. I tried phoning a Gender Identity Clinic, they asked me if I had an referral, told me to get an referral, then hung up. I imagine they'll be reluctant to say anything over the phone.
I guess I could call every month, ask for them to repeat the date of my appointment, and ask if they'd had anyone drop out that I could step into.

Re: LGBTAI+ #50: Warning: This topic has exceeded its maximum awesome level.
Oh! I never introduced myself. :smalleek: How rude of me.
My name is Alexia, Lexi, or just Lex. I've been wanting to do this since 2000. I initially started out strong, with a little support from my best friends (who all were there when I had my moment of awakening), and a couple co-workers. I soon told my sister, and my mother had to be told, since I pay rent (kinda) to live there.
After a couple years, my friends and I drifted apart. We're still friends, just don't see each other as often as we used to. And I got a new job with new faces, so I wasn't comfortable being myself, and once again hid. Fast forward about 8 years, and new people have come into my life, and they have given me the support I need to feel confident in once again being myself. Just today, I made the important step in actually making an appointment at U of M therapy. Unfortunately, the appointment isn't until June 11th. But it's one more step in the right direction.
I like, pinks, purples, Queen, fantasy, science-fiction, flowery dresses, petticoats, stockings, and probably a lot of other things I can't think of off the top of my head... Oh, I love history!
Gotta go now. Bye. *Hugs* Oh, and I like giving internet hugs. *Hugs*

My mother, who has a lot of experience with the Swedish Health Service recommends once per week. And say something like "I really feel like crap, is it possible to move the appointment."

I'm born male, and don't really feel terribly out of place with my body, but I have a strong aversion to masculinity and a general preference towards femininity in myself and those around me. I've never been attracted to someone of the same gender, though I don't think I never could be, and I actually like more androgynous sorts of beauty.
So, yeah... I don't think Questioning would even be quite right. I pretty much fall under the category of very, very confused.
Welcome and good luck figuring things out.
I'm Juniper, 19, genderqueer*, I'm doing an ecological gap year and will be studying biology in a few months. I like all kinds of plants and animals and nature in general, I could not live without music and I'm in love with my violin though I've only had about 5 lessons so far. I also like purple things, elves, pretty clothes though I always have to decide if I want to wear the things I like or the things that at least give me a tiny chance at passing as something else than a girl. If I'm not wasting my time on the Internet, I'm usually making music, cooking, hiking, painting or writing *points to sig*
*Actually genderfluid but mostly agender or androgynous, but I'm questioning that at the moment. I can't even remember when I had my last female or male phase that lasted longer than a few moments, so maybe I'll just drop the genderfluid label. Makes things easier to explain, but just saying agender doesn't feel quite right, so I guess I'll just go with the umbrella genderqueer.

Re: LGBTAI+ #50: Warning: This topic has exceeded its maximum awesome level.
Ah, introductions ^_^
I am the mighty Empress Zorg, great and terrible. I like clothes, shoes, chocolate, music, drawing writing and so on. I'm trans, bisexual, homoromantic, sort of maybe grey-Ace except when I'm not (I usually just say I'm a lesbian due to reasons). I also have severe depression and probably some other disorder(s) not yet properly diagnosed, possibly some sort of schizoid or disassociative type thing. I'm 31, have a daughter, tend to be quite moody, grumpy and bitter a lot of the time, except when I'm not. I'm also really bad at saying supportive things as I've hardly ever heard them in my life but I really want to because I hate feeling down all the time so don't like knowing other people are. I also tend to disappear for periods of a time because I'm terrible at staying in touch with people not because I don't like you all but because my life is basically a disaster and I'm a mess and I consider it a win if I get up before the sun sets most days >.<

Re: LGBTAI+ #50: Warning: This topic has exceeded its maximum awesome level.
Oh well, might as well reintroduce myself.
You can refer to me as my username, or "that one who always rambles on"; and as the small gender icon indicates, I'm a woman (and cis). I'm 25.
I'm demisexual (which means I'm asexual safe for my significant other, which is not a position with a high turnover rate); I tend to consider myself an ally more than a full-fledged member of the LGBT community. My boyfriend - who I always refer to as "BF" - is awesome, and he also happens to be trans.
I'm living in France but am from Belgium, and right now I'm trying to pass the damn entrance exam necessary to go to the nursing school. I reportedly have a diploma in Information and Communication, but given my own communication skills, I'm starting to think the people who gave it to me were hacks.
I'm a lot into unmarked sarcasm and self-deprecation. My recent Terry Pratchett binge is not helping with that.
Sometimes, I make avatars.

Re: LGBTAI+ #50: Warning: This topic has exceeded its maximum awesome level.
Introduction?
Greetings from the Federation! I am Admiral Lentrax, CO of the USS Celedonia.
I am also an avid RPer, a Browncoat, a Jedi Master, and many more things. I am also, quite possibly, completely insane. I am fairly certain that I have lived at least sixty or seventy lives, and that all those memories are in my current mind, burned into my soul.
I am thirty years old, AMAB, and as you can tell from my icon, I am trans.
I have died, been shot at, and torn down my entire life. But so long as you are here, I will always stand by your side and give whatever support you may need.
Oh, and did I mention I am completely insane?
-
Re: LGBTAI+ #50: Warning: This topic has exceeded its maximum awesome level.
The dying makes more sense when you factor in military service and legal death being a stopped heart :smallwink:
Watched a vaguely queer themed movie, K-11. It's named for the cell block where openly gay and transsexual inmates are held in a Los Angeles prison? As you can imagine it's a NSFW film, with some triggers to boot.
I am distressed to find how much I miss that sort of life... :smallfrown:
-
Re: LGBTAI+ #50: Warning: This topic has exceeded its maximum awesome level.
Oh crap, we're doing introductions?
Uh. I'm a trans girl, the kind that would rather have both sets than one, which has caused lots of problems even with other LGBT people for some reason. I'm a goat, as can be evidenced by the avatar. No, I don't walk on all fours. I'm a gamer, too, mostly things like Planetside and Unreal. I'm also an artist, and I have an art thread.
So...yeah.

Enough of my depressing life, though!
How is everyone else doing?

Re: LGBTAI+ #50: Warning: This topic has exceeded its maximum awesome level.
Ah, introductions...
I'm 37 (38 soon), married (not legally), and trans.* (I live totally as male and almost never acknowledge my status.) In my professional life, I'm a criminal lawyer. I have been working for a Public Defender, but found out today that I did not get the permanent position I applied for. But all is not lost, because there are 5 prosecutor's positions posted, which to which I sent applications. In my "real" life, I play video games (RPGs and strategy games, mostly), run a tabletop nWoD game, play assorted tabletop RPGs, and cuddle my babies (1 dog and 2 cats). Oh, and I'm an (American) Civil War reenactor.
* Yeah, I'm one of those rare and seldom seen species - the female-to-male TS.
