Nah.
Onyx path was talking about doing an official Alternate universe Crossover, once enough E3E stuff is out and if they get permision to do so.
They mentioned that it would convert the Exalted to the Anniversary Old world of Darkness rules, and while Exalts would still be stronger, they'd be getting a nerf and the Sups would get buffs to make it fair(Marital Arts and sorcery?)
I'm curious to how it would go though, and how various spirits and supernaturals would react to Exalted, and how the Incarna would react to the new world.(Particularly how some supernaturals are supposedly already tied to Exalt Types in CWoD lore)
The Idea proposed was the incarna returning to the world, weakened, and bringing there Exalts with them, though they've also "Jokingly?" said that the two Luna's might be the same

I still like the combo of Endowment (Blessed [Element] Body) and Dragon's Suspire/Affinity [Element] Control/Essence Bite.
This is a spirit charm combo (not a Combo), Basically, you use Endowment to give your allies your version of Blessed [Element] Body, a perfect defense against attacks of a specific element type (Water, Air, Fire, Vitriol) and then pelt them with a combo of the other three charms (ok, Dragon's Suspire is not technically a charm).
The funny bit is that B[E]B doesn't just negate the damage as other Perfects do, it also restores health and/or motes based on the dice of damage prevented. So this is a combat healer combo. One of the few in Exalted, as far as I am aware.
I played this build in one of Recaiden's games before it, well, died. A vitriolic elemental-demon dragon that healed his allies by spiting acid hate at them. :smalltongue:

Re: General Exalted Discussion XVI: Chej Kejak, Pokegod Trainer!
Demon Emperor Shintai + Follow the Leader = "Don't you dare bow to me!" + "Damn, we have to bow or we die." + Essence

Re: General Exalted Discussion XVI: Chej Kejak, Pokegod Trainer!
Hey was making an artifact grimscythe that I thought I'd get some feedback on. Oh and it's toooootally not a reference to any red-colored scythe-wielder, nope not at all :smalltongue:
NOTE: Dmg & Acc shown are working on the assumption it is a Sidereal attuned to it.
Spoiler: The Grand Scarlet Grimscythe of the Silver-Stared Heavens
Show
The Grand Scarlet Grimscythe of the Silver-Stared Heavens
Speed 6, Acc +3, Damage: 17L/4, Defense -2, Rate 2, Min:STR •••, Attune: 10, Cost:••••, Tags: 2, O, P, R, starmetal
Starbolt: for 2 essence, the wielder may discharge a bolt of pure essence from the grimscythe (Dex+Archery) which has a range of 100yds and +1L damage.
EDIT: realized I mispelt it

Re: General Exalted Discussion XVI: Chej Kejak, Pokegod Trainer!
Well, first you want to check the spelling. And you might want a shorter name, like 'Crescent Rose'.
Second, I'd take a cue from the Windblades. Swapping between an A3 transport and an A2 weapon is A4.
So make it a Grand Grimscythe with the ability to transform into a Behemoth Heartpiercer as a misc action (or freely for fun flurries), or, if guns are out, a small Essence Cannon. Very simple. And makes the ranged form less sad.
-
Re: General Exalted Discussion XVI: Chej Kejak, Pokegod Trainer!
Well Crescent Rose is too obvious, plus I feel the name is suitably eloquent and long to have been made in Yu-Shan :smalltongue: But thanks I'll look into the Windblades to see how they work. Also the ranged form is weak because I was worried if I made it equal to an actual ranged weapon it would be over-powered.

Seeing as "use the recoil from shooting one dude to help you bisect another dude" is a canonical maneuver using this weapon's inspiration, "freely" is definitely the required switch action.
-
Re: General Exalted Discussion XVI: Chej Kejak, Pokegod Trainer!
For an Exalted, this is basically taking a 5-foot step to kill an extra/minion/1 hitpoint wonder.
-
Re: General Exalted Discussion XVI: Chej Kejak, Pokegod Trainer!
So what I'm getting is I should instead of having it just fire a bolt of essence, have it be able to shift into say a powerbow or gun as a free action? In which case is 2m an appropriate cost or should it be higher/lower.
Also are the attune cost & artifact rating acceptable or should they be modified as well.
-
Re: General Exalted Discussion XVI: Chej Kejak, Pokegod Trainer!
I'd probably just make it be one artifact dot higher than the higher of the two components, maybe 50% more attune cost than the higher of the two, and then have it change for free. The weapon you use is largely aesthetics.

Re: General Exalted Discussion XVI: Chej Kejak, Pokegod Trainer!
It matters for certain martial art styles, but that's easy to circumvent.

Now, now, I doubt Venus has enough blessings to go around for everyone.

Well, okay then, which CWoD spl;ats don't need the magic kungfu boost to be balanced with nerfed exalts?

Eh, I don't care if they're balanced, or think they should be particularly. I like the idea of a bunch of exalts stomping Caine a new face-hole.

Why would they? Caine's a pretty cool guy.

I like the idea of Caine not existing as such even better. Down with Noddism!

So is Isidoros and the Exalted stomped him pretty solidly in the primordial war.

But that's in New York, Caine's a Cabbie in L.A.
That would be hilarious though.
Caine Drops Fledgling off infront of Venture Tower. It's already on fire.
Fledgling:Alright, what the f*** is happening?
La Croix and his sheriff are both kicked out of the window of his office. a "mortal", glowing (Gold/Silver/Sidcolor/FireyGrean/black Pick one) is corpse surfing one of them to the ground, where they dust on impact.
Exalt:Who else wants some!!!?

I'd play that game, VtM:Bloodlines except the BBEG is a Solar and his Lunar mate, maybe the quirky mini-boss squad is a bunch of DBs, and in the end it will turn out a Sidereal planned it all. Could be fun :smalltongue:

I like solars as the Big Bads of most games involving exalts. They're great for opposing almost any splat: They may be trying to usurp authority over lunars and pushing them to fall in line like the first age, they may be looking for revenge on Sidereals and Dragonblooded, they likely view infernals and heroic abyssals (the only abyssals I would consider running for) as tainted irrevocably by their primordial patrons and inimical forces to be destroyed, and other solars may be called on to differentiate themselves from the madness of their kin by a vicious example. And they're pretty much always powerful enough to give a good bossfight for any group, though they should obviously be built easier if the PCs are Terrestrial.
Alchemicals mostly should play with other alchemicals, but that's one of the reasons I love them.

Re: General Exalted Discussion XVI: Chej Kejak, Pokegod Trainer!
If they make an Exalted/World of Darkness crossover, I do hope they can do better than turning it into a juvenile exercise in whose game can beat the other one.

However, if you can learn spirit Charms natively (for instance, let's say you're a God-Blooded), the version you'd learn would affect your domain (or if you're God-Blooded, your parent's domain).
Thanks, though following up on spirit Charms, could a valid non-Spirit learn multiple variations of a single charm, like say learning two instances of Hurry Home for more places to escape to, or multiple Bane Weapon for more valid targets; or are you just stuck with the first instance of the charm you learnt and have to suck up any restrictions it had?
On anther note, where can I find these mythical healing magics that are occasionally mentioned or are they something that was forgotten/scrapped in the end?

It may well be impossible, that's how different the premises are.
On the other hand, it might be. High End powers in wod, especially werewolves', changelings', wraiths' and magi's are absurd.
-
Re: General Exalted Discussion XVI: Chej Kejak, Pokegod Trainer!
Well, there's a lot of tone problem if you try to hybridize the two. In WoD, there are forces out there that can't be meaningfully opposed. The end is coming at the hands of powers so incomprehensibly vast and dangerous that in many cases their description for combat simply reads "you lose," and the best you can hope for is to get out of the way and hide, or put up a token fight and die with dignity intact.
In Exalted those forces exist as well. They're called Primordials, and the Exalted beat them up, stole their lunch money, and pantsed them. There is virtually nothing that a properly prepared exalt cannot accomplish given enough time, effort, and preparation.

Re: General Exalted Discussion XVI: Chej Kejak, Pokegod Trainer!
Why are you guys assuming the crossover would be between the Classic World of Darkness and Exalted? :smallconfused:

Because it's not 2024 and after, so it'd be impossible for the nWoD to have a 20th anniversary rules set, which was referenced in the idea.
-
Re: General Exalted Discussion XVI: Chej Kejak, Pokegod Trainer!
I think what he means is that it's time for a Burn Legend/oWoD crossover. :smallcool:

Classically ? Vampires can drown Exalts in corpses. Sabbat loves that style, too. Werewolves would need experienced and ridiculously Gifted pack for each Exalt but it's doable for them as well.
Mages ... if prepared and some suffer to pump Quintessence into fighty ones with heavy-handed Paradox inviting long-term buffs ? I'm not entirely sure but, for example, Akashic dude can be buffed up to have Siddy's charms "I have lowered difficulties, you have upped difficulties" equivalent so bad that he'll have TN 3 on all rolls and Exalt will have TN 10 on all rolls, with re-rolls of successful dice. Scene-long suffices, Exalt will run out of perfect effects eventually. But if Siddy plays this game it becomes interesting ... chess match. :smallamused:
Of the known oWoD things that would have big problems with Exalted are Hunters, Ghosts and Fae. Mummies can readily ignore all Exalted who can't break souls from the get go.
Golentan, this is just Antediluvians. Geeze, all I had to do is to suck up to some mages who remotely-sunbathed all of them. ST said it killed all clan vampires so it sucked for me great deal, too. That and payment in Vitae so they have Quintessence. Blood bank robbery !

War charms, White Reaper Style, and half a dozen other things are good for dealing with zerging tactics. And for vampires, a single integrity charm annihilates all forms of kindred for a single mote to flare your anima for the scene.

Day long shaping defenses (target number warping is always shaping in exalted mechanics).

Ghost Eating Technique and equivalents eat mummies for breakfast.
