Kate uses Bat-Compassion!

Re: 3.5e Batman Campaign (2.0) [2nd Thread]
The issue was I couldn't charge over the broken terrain, and I can't dimension door into an attack
-
Re: 3.5e Batman Campaign (2.0) [2nd Thread]
Ah, dang. That sucks - but honestly this mage is stuck in a room with a high chance of defeat, there might be enough reason for her to concede to even such a modest threat roll.
-
Re: 3.5e Batman Campaign (2.0) [2nd Thread]
More likely that that, and part of the reason I tried to hit so hard is an evacuation via teleportation. I don't know if any of them have the spells prepped or if they got overconfident, but it would be an option that's definitely within their reach.

Re: 3.5e Batman Campaign (2.0) [2nd Thread]

Anyone have any particular ideas about containment here? I’m definitely scanning her with arcane sight for any ongoing magic.

Re: 3.5e Batman Campaign (2.0) [2nd Thread]
Listen! [roll0] I think Barbara will hear it, though

For useless posterity: [roll0]!
damn u dice why u gotta do me like this
Okay. So the bad cavalry is coming Oracle is out of damaging spells, and Kate's running low on psionics. There may be... a non trivial amount of jerks coming to fight us. Maybe we can use the defensive trap setup against them - but I think Oracle is the only one who knows which books are the triggers, so it might be a mage-handingly good time for her. As for the surrendered mage... well, what we can't have is her concious when her reinforcements show up. So she's going to need a very merciful smack in the head. (although in about half a minute she has to make another save vs DC 13 Fort or pass out for 2d4 hours, too).

Re: 3.5e Batman Campaign (2.0) [2nd Thread]
I do have emergency black tentacles, and if I cast a cloud of knives I can keep doing decent damage for three more rounds.
I also have a deep slumber in my back pocket, so could try and avert the fight by throwing it early, but these are spellcasters so my chances aren’t great.
-
Re: 3.5e Batman Campaign (2.0) [2nd Thread]
Right, there's at least two more mages around - the necromancer who went to get friends, and Lonnie "The Boy". This might be a cut-and-run situation, depending on how much smoke comes down the stairs - they are coming expecting captives after all, so they might actually not be prepared and it could even work out in our favour. But I recommend Kate bonking this surrenderee unconcious with the poleaxe of friendship, then taking cover while everyone else hides and gets ready to jump them when they come around the corner - or else Oracle could try her luck triggering some of the traps.

Re: 3.5e Batman Campaign (2.0) [2nd Thread]
Sorry about the long wait again! Work has been aaaaaaaaaawful! Anyway, I feel like you guys are in a pretty great position to launch an ambush, so I didn't see any reason to drag this scene out any longer. What do we wanna do?
-
Re: 3.5e Batman Campaign (2.0) [2nd Thread]
Just Kysel and the necro with no goons?! Hooray! A break! It’s ambush time! Will post when I get home.

Glad to see your guys are still doing the Gotham thing great :smallcool:
I saw jbe and feathers now in a recruitment for a game that was basically if everything went terribly wrong in Gotham (most of the bat family are gone, Damien goes crazy, becomes a vampire, all criminals are feed to him, very very yikes). It made me nostalgic to say hi :smalltongue:
Before I semi disappear again

Oh dang, that does sound interesting! Is that on this forum? I'll have to check it out.
BTW I refused to kill Stephanie and Robyn off so if you ever feel the hankering to jump back in your spot will still be held open for you ;-)

It's kind of amazing! Like sure it's RNG but it's got that piddly little save and yet...AND YET...for most of these big set piece fights, you only need one failed save and it's an absolute game changer lol.
...Really need to start fielding enemies with a poison immunity....

Hi, JWL, I hope the other DC game gets off the ground.
Since you suggested it, I will use my surprise round to teleport, though I am running dangerously low on PP

You did; Barbara sun-lasered and star-nuked them to ash!

Holy smokes, these grapples are coming in literally clutch. Clutching our enemies, I mean.

Roger roger. You're the best judge on the use of those points. We just gotta work through these goons and we'll be okay!
But heck, it looks like a lot of these dudes are getting locked down with grapple-tentacles mostly. It's hard not to say this is the ideal time for one of those fireball charges, even if it's going to set this library on fire and start flooding the place with smoke from the burning books. I suspect it won't burn down the house (we're in a stone dungeon) but it'll gut this library and maybe set off a bunch of magical traps.. Hmm.. Well, if not AOE, we just gotta chop through these guys one at a time. Rogues have lousy fort; maybe I'll get another nap-time. I have two more shuriken with poison loaded.

She did...she did...didn't she?
Okay, Damien's up, then a mess of thug turns (can rogues an/or grapple out of this mess? We'll see!), then the ladies.

Re: 3.5e Batman Campaign (2.0) [2nd Thread]
Oh, nice. Okay, so they were all surprised! Kysel is still restrained? I'ma chop him good, then!
EDIT: Not that it matters for my turn, but Kate dimension doored up to us? Or to behind Kysel's backup dancers?

Sounds like she's playing with time again, so who knows when/what she'll do.
Kysel can't grapple free until, best case scenario, his first turn. Courtesy of your Surprise Round (god those are powerful as hell) he has not had one yet lol.

Re: 3.5e Batman Campaign (2.0) [2nd Thread]
Just as well because without them we would be shafted. This is going way better than it might have; but we have to stop that runner and then get Anarky… and ALSO the gem.
