This has gotten pretty painful, hasn't it? Filler. Facebath. Nonsense.
To be honest I'm still somewhat curious as to what the next arc would be. But if I don't quit sometime I'll never quit.
And just look at today's strip! Reversal of consequences, recap, recap, recap, recap, recap, filler, SmugGreg - it's perfectly engineered to tell me to me to go now. Run, while you still can.
Of course I'll probably still check the comic in a week or two to see if anything has happened. I'm weak. :smallsigh:

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
Well, I'm an amateur Mookologist, but this smacks of somebody who is easily pleased with himself. The sort of person who laughs at his own jokes way too readily. His job is well done when he gets to his "punchline," and the "story" and "pacing" are accidents.
-
Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
He has very few accidents these days.
And I thought he hadn't improved...
-
Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
A talking heads recap strip after Dominic already explained it to someone else ending with an appearance of Smug Greg.
Is anyone else starting to miss the Orc rape stuff? At least that was prime snarking bait. This is just dull. No wait. What I meant was that it feels like I'm being stabbed with a dull knife.
I don't blame Trazoi for wanting to swear off DD forever. The only good thing about this mini arc was the slight experimentation with artwork and a giant monster that doesn't look like a guy in a fatsuit. But this strip? This was the intermission flipping us off.
At this point the only way DD could be redeemed would be the Reveal of Mama Deegan being an unwitting human incarnation of Snuggly.
Sigh. I'm going to go see what's going on at Gunnerkrigg Court and Girl Genius.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
Oh. I really cannot add anything else. It's back...
-
Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
Why can't I quit you? :smallfrown:
-
Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
I just don't care anymore. If I stopped reading you guys I wouldn't have the will to check the comic.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
I wish I hadn't finished all the MLPs available on Youtube. At least I still have Ghost Trick to entertain me, even if Dominic Deegan refuses to.
-
Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
Bye Trazoi. You're a wiser man than I.

Would it help if I pointed out that there's a new episode airing tomorrow?

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
Farewell, Trazoi, and rest in the knowledge that your departure may have saved my sanity, since I'm right behind you in leaving. I'll give it one more week during which I plan to bring our snark archives up to date (I've been way to lazy/apathetic during maltak... sue me), and then it's good riddance.
-
Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
Yes, yes it would. Poooooonieeeeees.
-
Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
Hey, let's write a song about something the government is trying to cover up!
-
Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
Wow. Mookie wants us all to know how metal the things that go on in his comic are, so he has to reinforce it by having his characters write a metal song about how metal it is. :smallyuk:

Well... I actually liked the first 7 panels of today's comic even if they didn't add any new information. Dom's expressions and 'bardic' taling were pretty good. And last panel was ironic because we find the audience he chooses to tell his tale to are stupid smug morons (which are the adoring little brother and his friends).

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
So, the consequences are gone, nothing happened the entire week, the a part of the beast was defeated by a teddy bear and Facebath is back.
There will be greener pastures, Trazoi
-
Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
If Trazoi can muster the will to finally leave this comic to its death-spiral without looking back, I think it's a good time to do similar. Goodbye Dominic Deegan. You were fun for a while, then annoying, then fun to mock, then boring, and finally just plain sad. Through it all you never lost the potential for greatness, which somehow made the decline and fall even more depressing to witness.
Thanks to all the great luminaries of the thread for making it such a joy to read, even as the comic became painful to witness. And thanks again Trazoi, your departure looks like it may spark a mass evacuation at this rate :)
And Mookie, I know you aren't reading this, but if you are I would like you to know that for all your METAL and EPIC and VEGAN, your comic is by several orders of magnitude less entertaining than My Little Pony.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
Well trazoi. Goodby. If you wait for a day il compose a goodby song. Im, a good singer.
On the comic: Pointless AND anger causing.
Well this is the end.
-
Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
... well, with everyone who actually has read the entire thing leaving, this may be the end of Snark. I can only make so many jokes without committing to an archive binge.
-
Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
Oh good hell.
Go read the newspost.
I just. Ugh.
. . . On the one hand, we now know what this arc was aiming for. On the other hand, it's even stupider than I had expected.

I didn't intend for a mass evacuation to happen :smallfrown:. I had plans to quit reading in 2010 but never managed to break the habit. Heck, I'm probably going to keep reading. Just not daily - there isn't any point anymore. It might be more snarkable taken as whole weeks. Or months.
Man, remember the good old days of the vacation arc - where nothing would still happen but in gloriously snarkable ways? I miss those days. *sniff*
-
Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
Greg and his awful band are involved. Abandon all hope of this arc being remotely good any more.
-
Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
And so comes the End of the Snark.
Few would have predicted that My Little Pony would have had such a prominent hand in it's downfall. But then, the Apocalypse rarely comes in ways we'd expect.
See you all in the Pony thread.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
Man, I miss out on a few days and everything's gone to Rabbit Hell.

I do, however, absolutely insist that you come back at least once near the end, if the end of the comic is indeed nigh. If only to make one more joke about how there's no evidence that Szark is gay or something like that.

Nah. No way I'm going to stop. I made it through Maltak. Not even a wedding arc can be that terrible. Besides, I've been reading the damn comic for basically no reason but morbid curiosity and to participate in these threads for long enough that it's a matter of principle at this point. Even if I'm the only one left I'm still going to have snarky conversations with myself and people will be like, "Man, that guy's a complete tool."

But seriously, go away, SmugGreg. The adults are talking, or they would be if you weren't here right now. :smallmad:

That's the most accurate, most depressing description of this miniarc I've seen.
I... I can't help but be impressed by Mookie. He can make the internet stop hating. That's... that's something.
Really, it is.
I'm not leaving, though! I will see this trainwreck through to the end, along with AverageJoe, the new guys and anyone too stupid to quit! Wait, that came out wrong, didn't it?
Who's with us?! :smallmad:

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
If nobody else does it, I'm going to try throwing together wiki over the weekend, so I guess I'm staying for that.
(Current priority is breakfast, though, since I seem to have been starving myself by accident.)
