The closest I got was when my wife asked me to help her make a D&D character... and then gave up after ten minutes saying it was lame. :smallfrown:
@Dirky: I skipped breakfast this morning...again... and I likely won't be having a lunch either because I woke up late and didn't have time to pack one.

The trick is not to care, then it comes much faster than you thought it would. Just like how water doesn't boil if I stare at it, but that might just be my ice vision.

I once had a chance to buy one.
I didn't because it was $45 and my mom would have killed me if she saw it.:smallfrown:

Yeah, the Sophies have always been expensive, especially that one. Strange given Reaper's discount mini business model.
I remember when I still frequented Reaper for my Warlord armies and laughed as I built a 2000+ pt army, fully pewter, for a fraction of what the same army would've cost for Games Workshop...

Re: The Kiwi's Kinkily Knotted and Kookily Kickass Random Banter #114
I dunno about boyfriends and wifes and things getting into your RPGs, but I think I got my mum into WoW.
I was doing an instance on my paladin and she was all, so what are you doing? I see. And that person there, what are they? Ok then. OH, KILL THAT MONSTER!
It was slightly scary.
I'm trying my hardest to get my BF into wow; the closest I got was getting him to pick my mount and getting his sister into it.
It's actually starting to annoy me. Stupid RTS boy that he is.

My parents were playing D&D well before I was born. That's probably the reason my older brother and hence I started playing it.

My dad used to play D&D, Warhammer (40K and normal) and Shadowrun. He was the one who got me into D&D and I'm sort of interested in Warhammer and I think I might like Shadowrun if it's anything like the books. Now he just plays WoW, which I don't think I have the "stamina" to play, I can't sit in front of a game for hours and hours doing the same thing, I'd be able to do instances but I wouldn't be able to do the grinding and stuff. Although I have done PvP grinding for my dad before. Alterac Valley is fun.

Re: The Kiwi's Kinkily Knotted and Kookily Kickass Random Banter #114
I'm not entirely sure my parents even knew what ADnD was until I picked it up.
I guess you could say I don't have the stamina for MMO's. I play for about a week or so before it just gets dull. A large game of Sins of a Solar Empire or Missionforce: Cyberstorm, though, can keep me going for quite a while.

Re: The Kiwi's Kinkily Knotted and Kookily Kickass Random Banter #114
My dad at some point tried to get into D&D, bought some stuff, but never really got going with it. Many years later, my brother and I took an interest in it, and the stuff came in useful at last.

What do you mean by at last? Do you mean that it was useful as a basis for an imaginative story involving dragons and magicians?

:smallconfused: I mean 'at last' in the sense it is usually used. The stuff had been sitting there unused for years, and then we made use of it. At last.
And yes, it helped start off our first D&D campaign.
Of course, it was all rather old, so we ended up updating everything to 3.5 after the first adventure, but still. And it still has a certain nostalgia value. Ah, thAC0...

I usually use 3.5 via the SRD, but I have a Players Handbook, but I don't know which edition it's from. It says Core Rule book 1 and it's from when Trap Sense was part of uncanny dodge and animal companion couldn't upgrade.

-10 for resorting to bad bawdy humor
Total Score over 2 rounds: -24

Heh. Cristo and Tooby are like their very own best friends and nemeses in the playground when you get 'em together like this.
The interplay is really quite entertaining. Good Show, Sirs!
Now. For the spiked pit traps underneath the mud-wrestling vat....

No traps, instead we put each into a bikini and a white T-shirt. I'm pretty sure that we could sell tickets to all of the ladies here.

I'm pretty sure he'd find himself with an axe buried halfway through his torso. And so we see what fighters use power attack for.
Uses of Power Attack
- Great for opening doors.
- Great for decapitating your enemies.
- Great for cutting cake.
- Great for politics and diplomacy (who is going to argue with a very large axe)
