Sure. Do you have something particular in mind?
If not...
- Do you plan for the Nameless Summoner to somehow get his name back? We could work on that.
- Per Fade's backstory, he's looking for someone with control of Light to match/fuel/command his shadow abilities. Maybe he finds one, or a lead towards one.
- On my side, 'Nadas' is still hoping to find someone to teach him swordfighting, and (separately) to steal someone's body.
- I have an idea for a new character if you wanted to help introduce someone to the Nexus.
- AMEN was hoping to steal resources and money. Perhaps one of us could provide a target, and the other the robbers.

Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
Hey, so I haven't been following up as much as I should on the Riverside plot, so it may take a while for me to respond. Tomorrow morning at the latest.

Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
Question for VIGIL players in Riverside:
Maria (the exploding witch) is headed towards the VIGIL combatants, under orders of AMEN.
I would be fine with her against any of the VIGIL assault groups, but I understand that some people would prefer to not. So, does anybody volunteer for a witch to attack their VIGIL group?

Thankks for the offer.
I don't have thought out what exactly is up with nameless guy. Right now it's a mix of magic and an accident,
For Fade's backstory I'm a bit confused what you mean. The only thing he would need would be an abliity to create light so he can controll where his enemy throws a shadow.
The sword fighting is a bit tricky since ony one of my chars learns swordfighting. (Fade doesn't have any kind of stance or such. That's why I wonder how a fight between him and a swordsman will end)
For the letter these are also options, thought I don't know which char your new char would meet?
I guess I'm up for all, I would prefere either the nameless guy or your new char unless you prefere otherwise.

Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
What I meant about Fade was, in the directory, it says
Quote:
But there power has a price. They need a master someone who controlls the light. Cause of the less source of light in there realm all shadows gained that power need to go to exile and never come back. Fade is one of these cursed shadows. He is now on his research for the bright one he will offer his service.
But I think we may as well go with The Nameless Summoner.

Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
oh wow. I think i have to read over that again. somehow I got another BG in mind. maybe i should update te sheet
-
Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
And...trying again. Hopefully with this time not being immediately followed up by the better part of a month infested with gut-bombs utterly killing any motivation for anything.
Earl, I remember Natalie and Jamie were interacting a fair bit; still interested?
-
Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
Yep, still interested.
Can't remember what they were doing, though.
-
Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
Aside from Natalie having a secret crush on Jamie, I'm not sure there was much in particular.
After I get my brain in gear tonight I'll probably start posting for Jamie tomorrow evening, I think.
-
Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
Having Jamie meet the Junior Adventurer Squad is always an option.

Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
((since SC seems to have forgotten to check the top right of his screen today...))
hey SC, not sure i'm understanding the sphere thing in Riverside. so it's possible to communicate in -> out and out -> in? and only in -> in is barred? or is in -> out and out -> in still barred, in ADDITION to in -> in now also being barred?
-
Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
I got in touch with SC, and here's his answer:
"Basically, there is a communication blank in the zone. Everything inside it can’t accept signals and signals send that end up within it are nullified. So as long as a signal (like teleportation) ends on a location somewhere outside the zone, it goes through."

Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
Thanks, that makes more sense now.

Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
Hey folks. I threw a character into Outside. She's pretty cool, I like to think. Anyone can feel free to interact with her. c:

Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
I've got a character waiting to be served in Erin's Emporium, mallside.
-
Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
Oh, sorry. I or the other player involved there should respond soon.

Thanks. Another one of my characters might be in there soon too.

Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
Hey, is the chat for Nexus still on IRC or is there a Discord server now?
-
Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
the IRC is still active. There's a link in the OP of this thread with the location.
-
Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
I have a couple questions.
1) has there ever been a space thread in Nexus?
2) how many people would be interested in one?

There has in fact been two space threads in the nexus, neither survived for very long.
Not that it should stop you from making one though, I can't tell how many of the new players that are interested in having more space-themed interaction.
As for me, I prefer more grounded interaction. :smalltongue:
Space only really comes up in specific plots most of the time, and even then i don't think I've been involved in a single space plot while being involved in the nexus.
-
Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
Yes, there has. Spaceside, I think it was called. It was a while ago. I used it once, I think, and I probably won't use a new one. But then, the two genres most of my characters draw inspiration from are either High Fantasy or, far more rarely, Post-Apocalyptic. Space-based fiction interests me, but it doesn't inspire me like those do.
I can't get my head around time dilation; I find mentions of it break my suspension of disbelief far more reliably than faster-than-light travel, which is less possible.
-
Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
There has been. The Lantern thread was also in space, but I'm not going to go dig it up. And there have been various events in other threads that take place outside the atmosphere.
Generally, characters come to the Nexus from space. Only rarely do they go there. The Nexus rarely gets to the 'international' scale, much less the 'interplanetary'. Space is big and faraway and hard to make sense of in our settings. Space is empty and most characters have no reason to be there. Celestial bodies besides the sun and the moon can't be counted on to be respected outside your plot. I would not be optimistic about another space thread.
But I would support it.
I have a bundle of space sci-fi characters and have ended up in various space plots before.

Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
Thanks for the opinions everyone! I decided to go through with it. Say hello to Starside!
Note: the people who have suggested content should definitely post in Starside, so that the thread doesn't die out.
Addendum: everyone should post in Starside, it'll be fun! There's even a ready-made plot hook with the Quietus Dyson Sphere.

Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
Public apologies to anyone I missed the last few days, been sick.

Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
Hey Devixer, which thread did you want Willa to take your character?
-
Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
I suppose any would work. Outside, I guess?
-
Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
I think it's your turn in GLoG, Earl.
-
Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
Celticbear, your turn in the Hunting Grounds - Dust Storm and I. Starside - approaching the Drydocks.

Re: OOC 50: Over The Hill
Just wanted to let everyone know that my last post in Inside is open for just about anyone to interact with if they wish.
