[Carrie's Room]
No, I need to be able not to take the easy way out... and the best way you can do that is taking away what's festering in me before I snap and cheat my way to power I don't deserve. She sighs, slumping a little.

No, I need to be able not to take the easy way out... and the best way you can do that is taking away what's festering in me before I snap and cheat my way to power I don't deserve. She sighs, slumping a little.
The handsome man picks a mote of dust off his ostentatiously expensive black suit. I see your point, but I need to give you something in return.
She thinks.
A fountain pen with a shaft of bone and a bottle of ink made with the soot of a cremation oven, then.
[Tobias Office]
The giant stone scorpion knocks on the door. He still needs a talk with Tobias, since he isn't part in any Team.
[HALO Base - Strategy Room]
Vallasito is sitting in the Strategy Room in front of a Display Board, playing around with a few blueprint schematics of vehicles and structures. He seems fairly occupied by this menial task for the moment, but interaction with others would be welcome.
[Carrie's Room]
Deal. Now, if you'll let me into your room, we can get started.
[Office - Tovpir]
Enter. Tobias calls out.
[Office - Harald]
Ah. So what are your capabilities?
[Carrie's Room]
Very much on edge, she steps backward to let him in, still not really trusting him. But still she lets him in.
[Carrie's Room]
Reynard casually walks in and gives the winged goddess' bed an appraising look. Suddenly, he's holding the blanket over an open area of floor. The Trickster shakes the blanket to make it flare up in the center, then yanks the whole thing away to reveal a machine sitting where there definitely weren't any machine before. It looks a bit like two cloning vats stuck together. Just strip down, step into the one on the left, and think angry, hateful thoughts. It's like... when you split away an Aspect. Concentrate on the bit of evil in your heart and whatever else you don't want. The machine will do the rest.
[Carrie's Room]
Carrie is rather unnerved, but does so---making rather a point to cover herself with her wings as she undresses---and gets in, thinking hard.
Angry at whoever killed Sam.
Resentful at Chris for being away for so, so long.
Disgusted with herself for being so useless.
Regret for failing Dani.
[Bathroom => Forge]
Thariza exits the bathroom, having mostly dried herself, and makes her way to her forge. Maybe working will make her feel better. Even if the weapons she makes are mostly just for show, since she has all she needs.
[Carrie's Room]
Are you ready? Reynard's voice turns serious, even ever-so-slightly concerned. Then he pushes a button and makes a sardonic sign of the cross. I absolve you from your sins. The machine, a heavily modified Dup-O-Matic Reynard stole from HALO awhile back, attempts to take those feelings from Carrie's head, buffer them up with an appropriately evil mindset, and then create a body around them. The details are up to you, of course.
[Forge]
The pilot I'm trying to introduce happens across the forge and starts staring at Thariza.
[Carrie's Room]
What comes out looks just like Carrie at first, but changes as she starts to move. Skin gets a little pinker, hair goes from black to snowy white, eyes go dark, wings turn from vulture black to creamy off-white.
She stands, naked and blinking, and looks at Carrie, then Reynard.
The not-Carrie starts to giggle.
"I'm very fast and agile. I have enhanced strength and stamina too, though not on the same level as my speed. My spinal ridges, claws and teeth are titanium-hard and very sharp. I regenerate at a very high rate, provided I can fuel it. Any organic matter will do. I can subsist indefinitely off any plant or animal life, raw or cooked. I have an extensive knowledge of combat techniques, but I'm best at stealth. My specialty is covert infiltration with a specific objective - assassination, data or object retrieval, that sort of thing."
[Carrie's Room]
Hi, I'm Reynard and I'm hiring. What should I call you? He gives not-Carrie a charming smile and offers her his hand. His other hand discreetly takes out a smartphone and tries to take a few blackmail pictures of Carrie while she's distracted by her cloned self.
When nobody is looking at a table or desk or whatever is in the room, the requested fountain pen and ink bottle appear on top of it.
[Office - Harald]
I see... Tobias jots a few notes down. Why are you interested in joining HALO?
[Carrie's Room]
After having a giggle at the unclothed goddess, the not-Carrie looks at Reynard.
I think... Tenet. Yeah, Tenet is good. She stretches, grinning.
[Carrie's Room]
It's a pleasure to meet you, Tenet. Reynard eyes the stretching appreciatively. I want you to come with me and have a little discussion about business opportunities.
[Office - Tovpir]
Hopefully the door is no hand friendly. Otherwise there might be a few scrathes in the doorknob. Either way he should be able to make his way inside.
"You said all members who got no Team should come to you and here I am."
Think this scene is after the AMEnside fight.
Not going for the magical wake up in Civvy's bed not sure how she got there ending? :smalltongue:
Reina grumbles a great grumble of waking up but not wanting to.
"Yeah, k." Reina says not sure where Civvy means or she'd probably protest to drag it out.
"Anything around that isn't based on food?" She shouldn't have more than she's had. It'd ruin her figure and she promised Intrepid she'd stay in shape.
"What does a blacksmith make if not weapons?" The perfect weapon even. Isn't that the goal?
"Could always go to a tailor and get some proper clothes..." Say she had a dress made in heaven.
Excellent. What have you heard about HALO? We have a few different reputations depending on where you are in the Nexus.
Ah, hello Tovpir. Tobias nods and searches through a desk drawer for a file. Since a member of Patrol Team Beta was unfortunately killed in action, I was intending on assigning you there. You'd be working with Thariza Brighthorn under Hector's command. Do you have any problems with that?
The man blinks and looks around the room in delayed surprise. Oh, no, sorry... I've got no idea where I'm in. I'm new, sorry.
Riverside. He holds out his arm to Tenet, giving Carrie a cheerful grin. You're welcome, by the way.
[Carrie's Room]
Carrie just sort of... stares blankly, dazed. Not quite sure what's going on now. Maybe the extraction disoriented her.
Tenet takes his arm with a nod, grinning.
