so is anyone else in a situation like me?
you religiously avoided as much royal marriage coverage as humanly possible and just found yourself disgusted with how much time people wasted on it?
and now know that you will be sitting and watching and rewatching and rewatching the same thing (now done with pastel colored marshmallow ponies)
(thus making it even MORE strange for an adult male to be interested in) and talking about it for weeks afterward?

I find nothing unusual about this at all. Except when you say weeks afterward, you really mean months, since there won't be a new episode all summer.

Nothing to be ashamed of. If my extensive political knowledge* is correct, then ponies are at least three orders of magnitude more important than the Prince of Whales and the Princess of Southampton or whatever title that Kate Winslet girl has now.

...Yes, that. It's even worse for me, we had a royal wedding here too which I thought the same way about. But when it's Pony? Then it's okay.

Whenever I decide to fake multiple personality disorder roleplay here and not just on the IRC (granted, that's not often), I mostly use Mtangulizi (zebra healer, partly cyborg), Kém (griffon spy, currently my avatar), or Zumaridi (zebra demigoddess of hedonism). Melierax (griffon tyrant and general psychopath) and Yakuti (Zumaridi's evil sister) show up at times as well, but they're creepy.

Luna took swift action upon her return from her 1000 years of banishment. Very swift action.
And, if I may, I'd like to bemoan the unfairness of the universe in a non-pony related manner. So, a classmate of mine has gotten a summer internship working with the in-house counsel for Marvel comics. That basically means she'll do a bunch of copyright law and licensing work and so forth. However, she just told me that she has never read a single comic book in her entire life. Not that I applied for that job, but considering the number of nerds I know personally, it seems like one of those moments when the universe is being ironic for kicks.

See, I was going to be all witty and snarky, then Anarion had to go and say anything that needed to be said on the matter. I'm just filing this whole business under "Disturbing moments when I realize how far gone to ponies I truly am."

I would not want to be a lawyer for any industry that I like, especially creative industries. The day when I have to send out a cease-and-desist to some bright-eyed young author because he inadvertently infringed on an obscure copyright... it's probably better that someone impartial has the position.

My thoughts more or less only since my thoughts on intellectual property are not exspressable in polite company... much less on this board.
Though not like everyone in this thread ain't a pirate so it would be highly... ironic... to remain polite.

You mean like, every day of my life?
I spent my whole time preparing for my math finals, my worst subject, and was completely unprepared for my english final, my best subject. the irony is
that I passed the English one no problem, while I might still have failed my math final.
One of my friends worked their eyes out studying, and got a 5 question quiz on one subject for their final.
another of my friends sat down with all his other friends to for some relaxation time, playing some videogames, and both his xbox 260 and his ps3 died.
life is absurd. truth of the universe. the moment you think you got everything figured out, is the moment when life smiles, takes out something new from their "unexpected circumstances" drawer and drops it upon ye. then when your bewildered and questioning all this absurdity is happening, life is laughing evilly and eating popcorn.

Oddly, despite my chosen profession, I still retain the naivete and optimism that one could influence the business by advising corporate leadership in order to be less evil and still make profits. I could totally see becoming Hasbro's in-house counsel at some point in the future. If I did so, I might be forced to make YouTube take down videos, but I would also push for the company to take advantage of the Internet and alternate business models. Because, frankly, I think that making My Little Pony free, even by accident, has been nothing but advantageous for Hasbro and that shouldn't just be a fluke.

Shh you are sounding suspiciously like Love & Tolerate and we can't have that.
(Also Hasbro will never be forgiven in my book but that's neither here nor there... or neither hay nor mare?)

Re: My Little Pony XL: The Plot Thickens!
Going to just leave this here. In case anyone is interested, it was my write-off entry to the ponychan's /fic/ contest, albeit polished as much as it can be.
Will probably publish it to FimFiction after a few more editing passes. Probably not likely to get onto Equestria Daily due to subject matter and relative unoriginality.
Anyway, back to lurking!
Also, those of you who helped out in the Training Grounds, thank you for very much! Every little bit of help is appreciated.

You make a good point. Being evil is just poor business strategy.

The update on the topic that we got told us that it wasn't Hasbro's decision to change the episode; it was a move made by the episode's writer, Amy Keating Rogers. She has some excellent reasons for doing so, including but not limited to her mentally disabled child. I don't agree with her choice, but I can't hold it as a grudge against her.
