So, Glados is going to come back from hell?
That's going to be...interesting.
Whatever you do, don't tell Soft.
They'll probably end up having a colt named Wheatly, also, Johnsworth was the undercover alien pony in Celestia's Resistance
Name: Soft serve
Appearance: http://i1206.photobucket.com/albums/...kyuubipony.png
Skills: Makes a mean drink, hard worker, and has magic. one of the best huggers you'll ever find. She's also a pretty darn good fighter if she gets in a situation where she needs it.
Gestalt Level 10 Surrealistik Paladin/Sorcerer.
Strength:12
Constitution:12
Dexterity:16
Intelligence:12
Wisdom:14
Charisma:18
60 HP
Cutie Mark: A bear hugging a heart. Her talent is making people feel better when they're down.
Biography: Soft is just about as happy in this world as in the other RP, but her background is fairly dark in this one as well. She was raised normally, but when the war came, she insisted on fighting. She trained with the shortsword and longsword, but eventually came to rely on the zweihoofer for its ability to kill with a single blow. She has been known to fight hoof to hoof if it came to it, or if she wanted to fight a pony non-lethally. It was said that when she was on the battlefield, anypony nearby felt bolstered by her mere presence, but it has yet to be explained whether this is some sort of magic she possesses, or if it was all in the heads of the soldiers who fought with her. Only her and Smoothie know which pony she was in a relationship with that lead to her giving birth to Hullabaloo.
Personality: It's a serious world so she's a serious pony.
Berserk button Lay one hoof on Hullabaloo and you'll have at least one of her signature blades at your throat.
Decided she deserved a new post since she's different in this universe.
Alright, to stop Zach from being a god, this is what the cone is. I once came up with the idea while making D&D stuff.
Cone of Double-Helix time removal
Use: Takes 20 minutes of your life(unless an effect says otherwise) to use as power for the effects.
Effects:
Making things big and small.
Copying things permenetly.
Copying things for 5-7 days(Life returns at the removal of the copy)
Protection from Fire and Ice(passive)
Name: Issun
Race: Ponyfly
Appearance: Issun is about an inch tall, with insect wings that he uses to hover around. His coat is a light brown, his mane black, and he wears a large (for him) hat and cloak. His cutie mark can only be seen upon very close inspection, and is usually covered by his cloak.
Age: ?? (Never mentions it)
Skills: Issun is a very skilled artist, and he's actually pretty good with a sword too (if one ignores the fact that it's smaller than a toothpick). He has shown the ability to (minorly) alter reality with his inkbrush, and his sword is rumored to have the ability to cut through time and space (though it's one of the few abilities that he actually doesn't brag about if it's true).
Like all ponyflies, Issun is far more durable than his miniature stature would suggest. He regularly takes blows that, by scale, would kill normal ponies and gets up without any lasting injury moments later.
Biography: Issun hails from a ponyfly village located deep within an enchanted forest far to the north. Very few are the ponies who can enter this forest and not become hopelessly lost. The ponyfly community there is one of the few places that still openly practices Spirit Worship (the worship of nature spirits), a religion that is all but dead in most of Equestria. Most ponyflies allowed out of this community are considered Spiritual envoys, their job being to rekindle faith in the nature spirits they worship among the other pony races.
Oddly, it was this practice that led to Issun running away from home, as he didn't want to be a Spiritual envoy, a position that his grandfather, the chieftan, had been grooming him for. Issun wandered across Equestria until he found himself tasked to aid a pure white mare he would refer to as 'Ammy'. While Ammy joined a heroic band known as the Starlight Six, and Issun traveled with her the entire time, he was never formally a member of the band until a year ago when Ammy mysteriously vanished and he joined the other five in being honored for the band's deeds, upon which the group officially disbanded.
Issun claims that the mysterious Ammy was, and still is, actually an ancient and powerful Sun spirit, and he currently preaches (off and on) her virtues as the Spiritual envoy he originally tried to avoid becoming.
Personality: Issun is a womanizer, but is actually rather harmless in this way (which may be mostly due to his size). He is easily distracted by a pretty face and has a bad habit of judging a mare's personality based upon her looks. Issun tends to be a bragger, a trait only made worse when ponies realize he isn't completely full of himself. He is brash, rude, and lazy; with a hair-trigger temper; and has a habit of jumping to conclusions which are often wrong. His common solution to social problems is increasing the volume of his voice. That said, he's got a good heart and firm morals.
Relationships:
Acquaintances: Many
Casual Friendships: Not so many. Issun comes across rather rough.
Close Friendships: Former adventuring buddies.
Family: Ishaku (Grandfather)
Intimate Relationships: None (despite any claims he makes to the contrary)
Cutie Mark: An ink brush.
Grills has to talk to the Captain. Are there any special mannerisms he'd have? Or reactions to the idea of additional security from the outside?
Need to know how pissed off he'd get if Grills said something.
He dislikes having multiple organizations providing security. Invariably something happens that causes tensions between the two groups, especially when jurisdiction is called into question.
About the only thing that will set him off is any suggestion that would mean endangering the town or the ponies in it. He doesn't smile, period, and he tends to give off a serious air to the point of oppressiveness (I've met people like this. All they have to do is sit and glare at you and you'll tell them everything just to get out of that room).
Special mannerisms: He's very unexpressive actually. He might rest his chin on his hooves, like a person folds their hands under their chin in such a way that it enhances their glare. (Basically, sit down, take your hands and interlock your fingers, rest your elbows on the surface in front of you, rest your chin on your interlocking fingers, and glare steadily at the seat opposite yours. The Captain does the pony equivalent of this.)
His temper is the kind that builds slowly. He is not prone to random yelling. You know he's getting angry when his tone becomes frosty and extra-flat. He generally doesn't get violent unless he honestly believes something is an immediate danger.
If he uses the word 'explain' it probably means that he thinks he's going to be unhappy with something, or already is, and he wants to know exactly how unhappy he is supposed to be with it. He really dislikes ponies keeping secrets from him in regards to official business, because he's seen ponies get hurt because of such secrets before.
Does this help?
-----------------------------------------------------
Also, I'd like it if someone would make a young filly-foal about Hullabaloo's age, maybe a bit older, that is the Captain's niece.
Requests regarding her:
Her mother is the Captain's much younger sister (mid/late-20s. I realize that age gaps like this among siblings are highly unusual, but they aren't impossible or unheard of).
She adores her uncle, and is the darling of the guardhouse. She's able to come and go from any non-restricted area (such as Lock-up) whenever she pleases and pretty much all of the guards adore her.
She's convinced that the reason her uncle never smiles or laughs is because the bad monsters stole his smile and laughter.
She was tormented by a couple of other foals that the Boogeypony would come and kidnap her in her sleep. The only reason she is able to sleep at night now is because her mother convinced her that the Boogeypony would never dare to hurt her because its too scared of her uncle. She now honestly believes that the Boogeypony checks its closet for her uncle every night.
She and her mother are the only ponies in town that are able to reliably melt (though only partially) the Captain's rough exterior.
I would like to personally thank Zach for setting me up perfectly to use one of my favorite comedic lines from cinema...
I have to apologize to everyone. I'll have to deadtime most of tomorrow. I'm being tapped to help my brother move into his new apartment and I have no idea how long it will take.
Apologies if I'm holding up the plot, but this is kind of important.
Deadtiming in a short while.
And also, about the ponyhammer games, I'll reread the basics before replying. But we'll probably fudge the rules up anyway. :smallamused:
500 is small, 1000 is normal, 2000 is big.
And no such thing as 'gearsets'. You choose equipment per model, normally.
And Dawnbringer?
There's the Nightbringer, who is essentially a god, but he's perfectly killable.
Now MONOLITHS. Ugh.
....
ya know, i really shouldn't be surprised. :smalltongue:
But be aware: Ponyhammer isn't an exact copy of warhammer (i was actually thinking of naming some of the Space Marene chapters after the Mane characters of the TV show, or something related to them ["Applebuckers! Victory is ours!"]) and I've only played DoW2: Retribution, which is only even close to the tabletop in terms of fluff. I made up 'gearsets' on the spot, and they essentially mean certain army builds and gear combos. Banned would mean it's considered extremely cheap and/or stupid, so it's removed to keep the game interesting. (Autowar means constructing an entire army out of drones, which in this are cheaper than regular troops. They wouldn't be very well coordinated but there'd be enough of them that it wouldn't matter.)
That's fine. xD
Be aware that if any of my characters play, they'll be using Tyrasprites. :smalltongue:
...or is it Paranids?
I truly wonder what the hay you're talking about
I'm making it up as i go :smalltongue:
Licker Tyrant is a build which lets your Hive Tyrant play like a Licker. It's really quite annoying.
World Wide Hive is a synapse trick that renders the damage done by a break null and void by linking all tyrasprites on the board together.
Space Sprite build means a build that makes tyrasprites small in number but ridiculously strong even without synapse. If you wanted to do that you shoulda just picked space marines.
Heh heh. As I said, we're fudging rules as we go along.
If you want Space Mareines chapter names, look no further than here.
Tyrasprites sounds better.
Another NPC, the town forepony (foreman). This is the stallion in charge of construction and reconstruction projects for the town.
Name: Rockem Wrench
Title: Bridle Shores Town Forepony
Race: Earth Pony
Appearance: His coat and mane have been stained so many times by so many substances that nopony is certain what his original coloration is.
Age: Mid-30s
Skills: The town Forepony is capable of building just about anything you ask him to. He's in charge of construction efforts in town as well as machine repair as the town is small enough that he doubles as the head mechanic. He has a sizable workforce of ponies at his command, and he can usually hit up the town guard for some ponies that need to do 'community service' if the job is particularly big or urgent and he needs some extra hooves.
He's the third strongest pony in town, unenhanced, but he also has a sizable collection of strength enhancing magic items that he uses for his job and never goes anywhere without wearing at least three. He thus frequently lifts things much larger and heavier than he is with relative ease.
He also owns a single construction model mecha that some of his workers operate when extra-heavy lifting is required. This mecha has been modified so many times, and by so many ponies, that it barely resembles its original appearance.
His favorite weapon is an object simply known as 'The Wrench'. This wrench is, however, ridiculously large and is clearly meant for turning nuts and bolts as thick as an adult stallion's torso. The size alone is usually enough of an intimidation factor to discourage any opponent, especially since his enhanced strength means he can carry it with one hoof.
Biography: (suggestions would be appreciated)
Personality: Pretty jovial, and has a very loud voice. He is an exacting taskmaster, but also a rewarding one as well.
Relationships: The ponies that work for him love him as dearly as anyone could love their boss.
Cutie Mark: A wrench.
I'd say have her show up before the group leaves.
Deadtiming. Soft will elaborate on her own story once somepony asks her.
Before it is then. Thank you.
I might not, but Mica would despite her typically formal demeanor. She can feel his honest concern, but she doesn't possess the background knowledge that would suggest Fenrir was 'overworrying'. She'll be able to get a better idea of the situation upon meeting Smoothie herself though.
Oh, Crisis one thing I'd like to bring up. If you want one of your characters to defeat Simmer somehow, I don't mind. However, I would like both Smoothie and Soft Serve to be able to be the hero at some point in this RP. How that will come about I don't know, but I'm hoping it will.
I figure once each of our characters get to do something like this (By which I mean the entire thread, not just us) We can sort of end the story. Naturally, this doesn't necessarily mean that the Grimdark RP would come to an end, just that the story involving our current characters would have a relatively happy ending.
I don't know. Just an idea I had. Feel free to shoot it down.
Going to be deadtiming soon.
If anypony else doesn't mind, in this mission Zach will almost die, nopony else though will be in danger, in the end he will just need prosthetic legs, and I was thinking of a steampunk version of automail. But it would be too unbalanced, so just fully regular prosthetics is what he would be getting.
I agree with the sentiment. I'm already trying to think up a few plots with some of my villains that will allow for someone else's character(s) to shine rather than my own.
As for Simmer's defeat, would your plan be adaptable to a Simmer who's already been damaged rather than a fresh Simmer? If so, I have zero problems with sharing the victory.
My personal stance on character death and dismemberment is that it is up to the player of the character as to when, how, and why such things happen if they happen at all. If this is what you want to do with your character, go for it.
Completely. It's actually what I was planning on anyway.
I have a funny image of Soft getting beaten by him after fighting him, being flung into the ground like a loony toon, then once he's defeated have her do a weak fist pump with just her arm being visible from the hole before weakly saying "Whoo hoo. Level up" and having the arm drop again.
