Hmmm... How many sheep would've passed for me to have reached the count of 2,000?
Compute!

5471 sheep. :smallwink: Where's the poem from? Did you come up with it?

Go ahead and try, but remember this. I'll always be behind you, waiting to strike you down. I do this, because I am a Kingmaker.

And I'll be in your house, raiding your pantry.

My retort.
Even worse.

In the proud tradition of British males being bastions of honour, emotional stability and moral uprightness, this is me, not telling you that I am a boop up and a son of a boop.

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
And you, my father, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light. - Dylan Thomas.

Poor PZ seems to have had a really bad day. :smallfrown:
Someone should give him a hug. *looks around for someone to hug PZ*
When I'm bored, I sometimes read random peoples' blogs and post non sequitur comments.
Or I search for some random thing on YouTube and then use word association to decide what I'll search for next.
Or I'll read through xkcd archives again.
Or I'll harrass my cat. Everyone should have a pet they can annoy when they're bored.
-
Re: Dish's Delightfully Deranged and Deliciously Deliquent Random Banter # 106
Yeah, pets are great boredom busters, I have a hamster that essentially HAS to run around the lounge when I want it to, not when it wants to. Mind you, the little thing is a lazy sod, he'd never get any exercise if I didn't force the issue.

A fluffy white kitten has curled herself up on my lap. This is adoreable because, well, fluffy white soft warm purring kitten. However, it is increasing my boredom because I don't want to disturb her by moving. So I'm not doing anything.

Aren't you posting right now? That's something.

Yes, I'm posting quite a lot at the moment. And reading my LJ friendslist. Unfortunately, though, there are many other things I could / should be doing.

Re: Dish's Delightfully Deranged and Deliciously Deliquent Random Banter # 106
Ahh. Well, then: If the things you need to do are vital, than you should wake up the cat. If not, stay.

In this household, we understand that "purr" is shorthand for "I'm increasing my comfort by inconveniencing you!" Also I'd offer my lap as a substitute if I had any illusions about it being satisfactory to the cat without that inconveniencing factor.

It's ok, she's now moved. Right on top of the mouse. And is entertaining herself by right-clicking things when I'm not looking.

Back in 1st year, I reckoned I could probably get by well enough on 50% attendance. I never really tested this belief, but I'm still pretty sure I was right.

Yeah, but I'll bet youre' not even half as lazy as me. I can't even be bothered to feed myself and as a result have been starving to death.
Also, bad fortnight is bad.

I mostly occupy the overlap between laziness and efficiency, as discovered by V. Tugelbend.

My family got a Mac today. :smalleek: This is historic because, well, we never have before.
OK, we didn't 'get' it. We were 'given' it. But....
*fingers twitch*
No right click...no scroll wheel...none of my favorite keyboard shortcuts (not even CTRL+A?)....GAH!
I'm on MY computer right now. My comfortable Dell laptop. My brother has one too. So does my mom. But our family computer is now a Mac.
I have nothing against them; just for someone who's grown up on PCs and is a total poweruser (that is, uses keyboard shortcuts for everything), they're infuriating.
*headdesk*

Re: Dish's Delightfully Deranged and Deliciously Deliquent Random Banter # 106
Unless they've changed in the past 5 years or so, Macs have the same shortcut keys...you've just got to hit that funky pound sign at the bottom instead of ctrl.
I don't find anything particularly wrong with Macs, but I'm not going to pay more for an artsy computer when I'm not doing anything particularly artsy with it.
