Here,, there are torches on the caution barrier instead of lights or reflectors in panel 10.

Indeed. :smallfrown: I'm currently on a binge of 90s/late 80s animated shows.
Anywho, while I did notice that Qarr shrank at some point, I never noticed how much. He goes from around the size of a medium character's body to smaller than the average character's head. It seems like the Giant forgot to make him larger for panel 3 of #584 after it zoomed in a bit and that size just stuck.

INNT: in comic #610 Belkar knows the time is running out because he hears the music, just like Inception! Or are they both based on something else entirely?
-
Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
What music? He's just annoyed that mental-Shojo keeps yelling at him.

Panel #9, Shojo's comment.

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
That comic came out two years before Inception did.

You know what the music means.

His nephew, technically.
Here, apparently dwarves have two livers? Never noticed that before.

In 611, Mr. Scruffy does serious damage to the caster and to the dwarf.

That's very well caught - I had always seen the injuries to the caster, but had never seen those horrific striations across the dwarf's chest before!
Those are adamantine Claws of Death right there! :smallcool:

Thanks to the OotS trivia thread, I just noticed that there is a demon roach version of Rich Uncle Pennybags, standing on a Monopoly house, no less...

Nice catch.
Turns out we've already seen housecat vs commoner?
<edit>
On closer inspection, Belkar also landed a stab. Double team.

And you know, he was probably a thief.

Sadly, no proof of that. Mr. Scruffy certainly tangled with them, but neither of them get Xs for eyes until Belkar gets to them. There is a serious (if line width matters) gash to the caster when/after Belkar flips past that is not seen while Mr. Scruffy is engaged, and Belkar's dagger is seen going into the dwarf's head.

I just got that Gannji's "son of a mongoose" line was a reptilian twist on calling someone a son of a snake.

I don't understand.
Rewinn said 'serious damage'. You don't get Xs for 'serious damage'. Surely he should have said, 'Mr Scruffy Kills the caster and dwarf' if that's what he had meant.
Secondly, if you take several hits, some might call that 'serious damage' even if it wouldn't stop a dragon, giant or 10th-level fighter-type.
I count no fewer than seven (7) hits on the caster by Mr Scruffy before Belkar gets involved (though some are v.small). Now, likely Mr Scruffy does very little real damage, true, but if you accept the phrase 'serious damage' as meaning in its context 'wow, loads of hits and probably quite a few hit points gone', then I think we should allow the praise for Mr Scruffy to stand.
Further, the two sets of triple lines across the dwarf are from Mr Scruffy. Whether there primarily for comic effect (of a kind) or not, they nonetheless stand for a good double hit by Mr Scruffy dealing a few hit points of damage each.
I don't think anyone is arguing that Mr Scruffy actually killed them - especially since we can clearly see that Belkar does...

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
I just noticed that in War and XPs, the Giant made Redcloak's holy symbol/Xykon's phylactery white in strips #368-376 in order to match the redesign it gets in #414 (and retroactively in SoD). However, there's also a goof because he skips #331 yetSpoiler
Show
bonus strip #320a has the white holy symbol/phylactery.
So, in-comichronologically speaking, Redcloak's holy symbol goes from white to black to white to black to white. :smalltongue: (Well, it's an art upgrade, so I guess we're supposed to pretend it was always drawn that way.)

I take back my prior statement to the extent that "serious damage" does not equal "death". I do not concede that several scratches constitutes "serious damage".
That being said, you are correct, I misunderstood the original post and Mr. Scruffy certainly did an impressive amount of attacks and possibly helped enable Belkar to make his attacks.

Durkon says V rolles natural 2 on dispell magic check, since 2 isn't natural therefore it probably refers to V magic abilities being poor

What about #780?
Is it possible that Mr Scruffy did the same amount of damage to the caster, but the caster had enough HPs to survive the first attack. And that he died from the combined damage of two attacks, from Belkar and Scruffy together.

Not anymore it isnt, 2 was bullied by 3 and 7 and in despair signed itself up for genetic trials and is now mutated beyond the point of no return.

Got me baffled as well. EvilSnail, when someone rolls a "natural" anything, it means that's the actual number they got on the dice before any modifications due to skills or stats are made--I'm not sure what you think it means, but a natural 2 is as possible as a natural 1, 9, or 20 (on a d20, at any rate).
