Thanks for the advice regarding the long lost daughter, i will take it when im done grinding faction at the shroom race :)
Unterzee 15? I feel like I should know what you're talking about, but I had a mostly sleepless night and I'm not at my best...
Make a screenshot of your inventory? Most items shouldn't be a problem to recognize.Quote:

I have finally talked with the thunder, and it has changed me somewhat.
my eyes witnessed the storm, and took a part of it with them.

You mentioned the Unfinished Hat (whoops my bad! I messed up switching the last phase of Investigating 12 with the Explorer of the Underzee.) Still, while I don't need the Unterzee (that should have been 12 not 15) 12, getting the materials and Investigating Ranks' to progress then end of that story is a many-days-long endeavor when in the region (not even counting the time needed to sail there and back.) I'm not going to Polythreme until I'm also ready to handle Jack. Perhaps I can stay there up to an additional 20 turns when everything else is done to pick up some Romantic Notions, but that hat isn't something one succeeds in easily when they are in the ability of they just got a ship. And it's bad enough I have to schedule a time-consuming Ambition Iron Republic trip so I'd rather not make additional immediate zailing voyages unless necessary.
Sceenshot my stats? Excuse me a moment...

Sometime I forget non-wiki outside game sharing options with FL.

Understandable. On the plus side, now I know what you meant earlier ;)
Don't forget to get the key before going there. And craft some Portfolios of Souls (2 actually).Quote:

What items for BDR did you use for your previous estimate (B 4 D 2 R 7 for a total of 13)? Because either I'm missing something obvious, or one of us failed some math (as far as I can tell, you can get 6 BDR from the expanded inventory and 3 from the regular one)...Quote:
Does your alt still need the first point of Notability? I just drew the Amaneusis. And speaking of that - anyone in need of rats or jewels?
D'oh! I didn't know about the portfolio of souls. Crap on a crap-stick, I missed that! (And I have no Rubbery Hound yet, as well as I can't even remember the last time I got that "Below the Neath" card.) Looks like I have to hold off on my Embassy Room if I need to make two of them.
Oh and by "Key" you did mean Stone Tentacle? (Safe Passage, I have, of course.) The Key need is why I kept mentioning Hunter's keep or the "Keep" earlier. Assumed it was common knowledge all Ambitions need it or an alternate (Nemesis has no alternate.) I'm likely going to take a short time there and sail onto the IR, assuming it doesn't take more than 14 days if I leave soon after my TTH after taking care of the Nadir and having enough MW when I leave just in case. (Why you see I don't want to also go to Polythene also at this time.)
And when I do finish up in the Republic, I plan on getting a certain +1 B +1 D journal which will add +1 overall BDR to my weapons slot....
I might have listed each stat not as BDR but maximum individual.
The max total BDR I can get is: Respectable 6, Bizaare 5, Dreaded 2 or 13. Technically, even if I could get an individual one higher at times if it's a specific check for one of the BDR (eg, Bizarre check,) the listed 13 ATM before getting more BDR items is as high as I can get it (I think that requires something like 25 Making waves for Notability 4?)
Oh, and since luck is reflective, my unlucky main meant my alt luckily drew the Amaneusis card just hours before TTH. After a notable number of (ahem) Rather Decadent Evenings offered, she bought her entry/Notability quite easily, the Bohemian Hedonist deviant Author that she was. (And she had pictures of those Evenings, but the Ministry of Public Decency had to confiscate them.)
On a completely unrelated note, she happened to (yet again) return from the Tomb Colonies just before that Amaneusis visit.
Nope, absolutely no relation to that and not waiting to buy any more Solution, none whatsoever and nothing to do with her returning unrepentant....
Woot! In approximately 2 more hours I will have my Brass Embassy Lodgings. I need one final casing run, then I"ll have just enough to finish up my Connected:Hell(it's at 47 right now), and I drew the card I needed last night! Super stoked :) Even though I actually prefer my Bazaar lodgings, I just like knowing that I have another one of the major lodgings finished :)
Well, as of a few hours ago, I robbed the Brass Embasy! Sorry if I stole from anyone's personal lodgings. Just...It's funny to put one over on the devils.
So that's where all my brass went :smalleek:
I am so glad you don't actually steal from each other... though I do need to start the PvP things soon.
Well I officially have my Brass Embassy lodgings ^^ Gotta say though, not sure what to start working towards next. I have a few choices, just not sure which one to pursue. Could continue on with my ambition, or I could try to finish up the affair with the box, or I could get the other side of the map and then head towards Polythreme and continue on with the Jack case, or I could try to get all the research necessary to get myself back into the university. Probably a few other things else as well, but those are the primary things for now I think.
Oh btw, where can I exchange Connected:Hell for items? I'm assuming there's a place like that like there is for just about everything else, and since getting my Brass EMbassy lodgings didn't actually USE any of my connected:Hell I figured I'd cash in some of it.
In the Forgotten Quarter.
It isn't mentioned anywhere before you go to the IR - which is why I had to go back to London when I did my Ambition.
Yeah.Quote:

The Formula is 20-BDR+4*Notability.Quote:

I'm so very veryjealousproud of you for that accomplishment! Congratulations!
Aha, that saved me a question if it reset it or not. Nice to know it will not. You can exchange your Connected: Hell at this location (120 CP for 240 brass Silver under the Forgotten Quarter,) or things like -20 CP for up-trading Brandy for Rings to later exchange or sell.
(That written, you might consider saving the connection if you're going to use it for upgrading to a Sanctum five-card lodging with the 50 Connected: Hell, 9 Notability, 200+ stat for the POSI Tier 2, 7 Dreaded and the Reported Location of the One-Time Prince of Hell. If you're waiting until Sackmas and will sell your soul for it, you can get it for a lot cheaper of course and not need said connected score.)
Let me know when you do and I'll play K&C with you.
Sadly I sold my soul way back before I quit the first time, and I have no clue on how to get it back except that it's likely fate locked ><
I also have no clue on how to raise my Notability >< I know it has something to do with making waves, but that's about it.
On another note, got to go back into the Cave of the Nadir and FINALLY got a card that let me upgrade one of my items :) Upgraded my Neathglass Goggles into Irrigo Goggles. Sadly I actually don't need them anymore since I have the Watcher Disguise which gives me 6 Watchful/Shadowy, and I won't be giving up my Watcher Profession for quite a while(free antique mysteries!)
I already have the first point, it's the points after that, that I'm unsure on how to obtain.
Also, no Fun with the Fisher Kings is not the start to get back my soul, just checked and tried all the options. One was an increase for connected: urchins, another was for pocketful of change and counting the days increase and the other was for a "bunch of oddities"
Alrighty, I guess after that I need to look up how to increase my making waves with a consistent option instead of relying on upgrading items or opportunity cards. The sooner I can get my Notability to 9, the quicker I can get my first 5 card lodging since I can sell the location of the cave of nadir for the item required to upgrade my Brass Embassy lodgings.
As for the Soul thing, the Fisher Kings is a bust. Just checked and tried all the options. One was an increase for connected: urchins, another was for pocketful of change and counting the days increase and the other was for a "bunch of oddities"
It's the bundle of oddities option you want. There's a very low chance from Bundle of Oddities to get you your soul back.
Not anymore. You used to get your soul back when you got a bundle with exactly 100 value, now it requires 200. The option to regain it from the Fisherkings turned out to be too good for people who could sell their souls for 312 echo items.
Unless you're really, really desperate for it, wait till Sackmas. You'll get the upgrades for a much smaller cost.
The bundle of oddities is the way to regain your soul (well, not this particular one) - you need to get a bundle of exactly 200 value (it is determined randomly for each bundle you get) and only some can reach the value. Potential sources of your soul include:Quote:

- One's Public card
- Hoist the Black Flag card (zailing)
- Trade Favors with the Urchins (from the Trade favours in the Flit card)
- Trade Fourth City Rags (from Wolfstack in the Fog, Standard card only drawn in Wolfstack)
- A little extortion (same source)
- Trade Black Felt garments (also from Wolfstack in the Fog)
- Grab whatever you can carry (Bonfire of the Decencies, Rare Wolfstack card)
- Hello, what's this? (From The Velocipede squad races by, rare card in Veilgarden)
- the bundles other players can send you via the gift card
- The student body (available only if you haven't finished the University investigations storyline)
Which is fine, since the Sackmas option requires you to have no soul.
Sorry for being such a bother, but I have(another!) question: How do you acquire a "Destiny"? I've seen them mentioned a few times on the fallen london forums, but don't see to much when I look them up.
Opportunity cards around halloween. It costs fate to get any other time of the year IIRC, although the Fruit of the Zeebat festival (if it is reoccurring), I recall may have an option, as may Christmas.
Essentially, seasonal events. They aren't to hard to get if you are online at that time of year.
the_truthseeker: On the topic of Knife & Candle, we haven't finished our game, its your move ATM.
I'm not as expert as some other of these members are, but I did pick this up so far:
If you're still soul-less, as mentioned, you can stay that way until December and upgrade your Brass Embassy 4-card with only 8 (PTPT: the Taste of) Lacre and 3 Notability, but this only works while you're soulless/have your very own infernal contract. If/when you need your soul back, it used to be possible with fishing with the Fisher kings, but I believe that's 1-120 ranked Bundle of Oddities while that "Something Unexpected" option is now raised to 200 to retrieve it.
Besides paying 15 Fate for it, you have to find bundles that go to 200 or higher, but not too high (the ones that go to 1000 give a one-in-a-thousand shot.)
As Fyr mentioned they are:
One's Public card(Not only have I never gotten this option from the Speak for a Little While and Ask Them to Disperse option before the reward to rank 200 bump, the wiki now shows it only goes to 197, not 200.)
Hoist the Black Flag card (zailing)
Trade Favors with the Urchins (from the Trade favours in the Flit card)
Trade Fourth City Rags (from Wolfstack in the Fog, Standard card only drawn in Wolfstack)
A little extortion (same source)
Trade Black Felt garments (also from Wolfstack in the Fog)
Grab whatever you can carry (Bonfire of the Decencies, Rare Wolfstack card)
Hello, what's this? (From The Velocipede squad races by, rare card in Veilgarden)
the bundles other players can send you via the gift card
The student body (available only if you haven't finished the University investigations storyline)
As noted, the I-haven't-finished-my-investigation "The Student Body" is the only non-card drawn option that can be constantly re-done immediately until you pass it's term passing and have to reset it (and once you conclude the investigation, it's gone for good. Also, unless there's one that stops exactly at 200, it's one of the closest options you can randomly roll for. At the time of this reply, 206 is the closest range we now have.) The rest rely on the RNG for standard or less drawing odds. Many require you to be in a specific area only when drawing. The Give a Gift and Grab Whatever You Can Carry (besides the former perhaps standard frequency drawing compared to other cards) are the worst as you literally have a 1 in 1000 chance (okay, technically now 1 in 1008) of getting it (and the sender for the Give a Gift-whether it's an alt or a good friend-has to spend 10 Echoes just to send that random rolled gift to you.)
Still, unless in the Foreign Office allowing a free draw, the 12.80 cost of the Black-felt garments one gives around 1-3 Echoes average on its reward and almost never is worth it compared to that card's other choices when it comes to the "more regularly drawn" Oddity options on that card.
Notability is raised by increasing your MW and cashing in them to the Amaneusis card drawn. The higher the Notability, the higher you need MW. Of course, having more Bizarre/Dreadful/Respectful (BDR) total items equipped, the lower that required total is. As Fyr gratefully posted, the formula is: 20-BDR+4*Notability.
Finally, I need to go over options regarding your Hat Irrigo item:
- First off, getting 1 blackmail, 1 AM and 100 pearls and some dubious testimony/Sworn Statements weekly will not be enough at 32 Echoes. The Blackmail is useful, but the rest falls just short for a weekly reward of somebody regularly in the Nadir now, especially once POSI is achieved. POSI costs go way the heck up and remedy options do too (as well as their effectiveness goes way down.) You'll start to need to trade in amounts of multiple items including AM at one time (off the top of my head regarding AM, your Hotel Royal Beth for 50 and buying a Rat companion when applicable at 15, and if needed--update them to Primeval Hints at 7-1 since it's 87.5 echoes of AM and a Benthic drop for a 62.5 E PH so getting free rare ones when not needed immediately are more cost effective. But it's best to keep PH for their Ambition if Bag a Legend and feeding your Watchful-based Raven twice first. Then short of re-assigning them to become Closest To: Bohemians after leaving another Faction, there isn't any regular need to spend them and can be sold for 62.50 Echoes--should you get any spares won and not converting them of course.)
- Therefore it's better to go to Agent and get 10 Presbyterate Passphrases and 10 Identity Uncovered per week at 50 Echoes total worth. As noted, this is often for value trade in over direct selling. Even if you keep all the PP for conversion, you can sell off some IU at up to 25 Echoes if your IU is at a comfortable surplus. You rarely can even sell extra AM and bonus items after PP conversions (which you frequently will get with extra items in the conversion when Successful. 25 PP exchanged gets you 5 AM and when successful in luck, around 100 Cryptic Clues or even 5 Blackmail Material on a rare success instead.)
- But once you get 2 Notability, draw the Unsigned Message card and update to Agent, your headgear is gone and becomes a weapon chess piece (and updates to +9+9 for Watchful and Shadowy.) This means your headgear hat/mask is gone, so you'll need some stat-equivalent or higher. The closest for Shadowy is the Sneak-Thief's mask at +5 Shadowy. So your Irrigo Goggles at +6 Watchful now are used on that Stat check until you get something better (I'd recommend the Semiotic Monocle and as much Correspondence rank to 10 as possible which is great for staring into snow lacre pails at Sackmas time.)
- The good news is (if you're willing to risk it not being used in future content,) those Irrigo goggles aren't required by anything, so once you have something better than +6 for hats, you now can sell those goggles for as much as you paid for the original Luminous Neathglass goggles: 28.80 echoes! (So since you have to pay that much then draw the card in the Nadir to update it's not a money making scheme, but it can be a money-back option once you outgrow them permanently.) As for me, I keep them as a trophy but know I can sell them for reimbursement.
Yeah what he said. If you already got a destiny around Hallowmas (or any other special event) you get the same Destiny options on other holidays like Sackmass. Fated destinies (like companions) can give you multiple stat bumps on a single Destiny. (I chose a Fate option and based on unknown selection options to me at the time, I ended up with the Backstage destiny for example.)
%$&! It didn't notify me like before. I was waiting for your move. I'm glad to move next and should be at the time of this update.
I mentioned it since several people said they got their soul back from that card. Since the value required for getting your soul also was confirmed by more than one person, I'd argue the wiki might be wrong here ("something troublesome had a range of 101-200 (now it is 101-199), which would make this bundle stop at 197 a bit weird - though not impossible).
What do I use a counterfeit head of john the baptist for?
The only option I have unlocked so far is "use it for practical jokes"(and I'm nearly at "kiss it". Just need two more points of hedonist)
It is an item for Knife and Candle (FL's PvP system), where it can be used to change your stats. Employing it in practical jokes has an equal chance to give you a modest benefit (some connected: bohemian and Incendiary Gossip) or to harm you (some scandal, suspicion and a minor drop in connected: constables). Kissing the lips is a very bad ideaSpoilera large drop in connected: bohemian (50 cp), a huge drop in connected: society (100 cp), a load of scandal (36 cp), some nightmares and getting sent to the Tomb-Colonies
Must...resist....and...failed....
After screams and several people fainted dead away, a nearly-former Bohemian "sicko" woman simply replied before being dragged off,
Spoiler: Don't read it, it's sickSpoiler: No, really, please, it's not worth it.Spoiler: You were warned"All I did was let it kiss me on the lips; nobody requested which ones...."
Even my Snow would decline that...wow, I found her discomfort zone existed!
Some days I swear that the random # generator in this game is totally against me. I just failed a task that I had a 90% chance to succeed FIVE times in a row. I mean, what in the hells is going on here?!
Ok, rant over. LOL. I've decided to not pursue anything major right now, I'm just going to mess about in the various places and get myself a bit more reacquainted with stuff before I move forward in the game.
