Re: Nexus OoC IV: We're All Mad Here
Just the latest fad in characters. Like Catpeople, Exalteds, Demons, Angels, Vampires...

When the heck did bards become popular? :smallconfused:
When they became Leader roles?
...or yeah, a fad. :smalltongue:
I could always do a Catperson Exalted Bard. Who summons demons.
That's actually a viable concept. :smalleek:

Vampires was, but I don't remember Angels.

Re: Nexus OoC IV: We're All Mad Here
*appears* Someone is talking about me!
Anyway.
Can't help but wonder why anyone defined as good would want to destabilize the Empire now. Past bitterness, maybe, but times have changed as far as general morality goes.
Heck, if it's the military police thing, I've even tried to relax that a bit, though you weren't here to see that happen, HG.

@^: Yeah, I know. I saw it going a bit overboard. None of my characters would want it gone as it is now.
...it'd still make an interesting plot, though. Hmmm... maybe a plot where there isn't so much actual fighting as diplomacy trying to keep the Empire stable?

Re: Nexus OoC IV: We're All Mad Here
Vampires was a fad waaaaaay long ago. Early GLoG history.
Angels was a brief fad. Didn't last as long as some of the others, but there were several introduced by different players in a short period. Viola's character Mizeri, and Nephrim, and a few others.

Make it summon vampiric angels instead then.

I have a part-time catperson, a bard that was my second character ever, one Exalted (or two, depending on how you count), one dead vampire, and no angels or demons.
:smallfrown:

I didn't make Rot during no fad! :smallannoyed:
-
Re: Nexus OoC IV: We're All Mad Here
Nah. I'll probably have Zamira summon an Elemental or two at one point, though.
Lunars don't strike me as the type to do demon-summoning.
And unless some mad Twilight went a bit nuts in the first age, they're the most likely to be catpeople.
...the above situation is more likely than you'd think. The Solars in the last part of the First Age... :smalleek:
*now has an idea for a Twilight catgirl Sorceror*

Rot qualifies as a fad in and of himself? :smallconfused:
I think he could qualify as one. Without the diminishing appeal.
*keeps the catpeople fad dragging and dragging...* :smallcool:

Not sure what you mean.
But Butler definitely keeps the catpeople fad alive. He could be crowned king of catpeople if he weren't so Butlery.

It was just a general compliment as to Rot's appeal. Take it or give it back. :smallyuk: :smalltongue:

BLARGH. @_@; Half and a quarter hour late. Shower and haircut took too long. First, replying to things in OOC.

Also, I'm sure I could think of one, given enough time.
Also, *PROD* D= Pleease post in PACK again? Davidson is really eager to be a part of the Nexus.
"I am?"
Shush. -_-;

For future reference, MY catperson was made because she already existed in a different game, and I wanted to see how she would react to the Nexians.
I'm rather liking how it has turned out. :3
But I generally do not follow fads. Just the beat of my own drum.

Everything is a viable concept in the Nexus. If I named a concept here, someone would make it just to prove it was a viable concept in the Nexus.

Re: Nexus OoC IV: We're All Mad Here
Ooo! Introbulus! Name a concept! I needs some new characters. No! I don't! Bad imagination! *whacks self with stick* :smallannoyed:

Re: Nexus OoC IV: We're All Mad Here
No, that's a viable concept IN THE GAME OF EXALTED. :smalltongue:
That said, I don't do demon-summoning characters.
I might do an Air People Twilight Caste, though.
-
Re: Nexus OoC IV: We're All Mad Here
Most of the fads tend to be individual players deciding independently to make that type of character. It's like Nexus says 'Hmm... need moar catpeople' and sends out a bunch of inspiration tendrils.
*Except Exalted. That one kind of spread like a virus as players collected Exalted material.
-
Re: Nexus OoC IV: We're All Mad Here
Going to sleep, or Deadtime as I believe it's called.

I blame/credit horngeek for all this. Which may or may not be justified.

BWAHAHAHA!
Blame the Storyteller and players of the game God-Kings of Lotus on this forum- reading their crazy/awesome antics got me into Exalted in the first place.
That, and Jukashi, the author of Keychain of Creation.
-
Re: Nexus OoC IV: We're All Mad Here
Amber and Neon Knight had Exalteds first, I think. Or around the same time.
-
Re: Nexus OoC IV: We're All Mad Here
Never got the Exalted thing. :smallyuk:
Seems a bit too powerful in a setting with non-Exalteds for me to have fun playing one.
But I don't mind others playing em. Just not my style.
-
Re: Nexus OoC IV: We're All Mad Here
Let the record show that The Moff is a technically a low-level rogue. He's probably picked up some wacky prestige classes by now, of course... :smalltongue:
-
Re: Nexus OoC IV: We're All Mad Here
Yeah, they did- NK had a Day Caste, and Amber had an Alchemical.
But I didn't actually realise that until after I introduced my own Exalted.

Good point. If it weren't for Jukashi, I certainly wouldn't be playing one.
Spoiler
Show
Of course, I wouldn't know about Keychain if it weren't for someone linking it in a RB. Which I wouldn't have seen if Phase hadn't named it what he did. And I wouldn't be here at all if I hadn't seen Cog_n_taz mention GitP. And I would never have read that if it hadn't been for Charles Phipps's thread about Eberron. And I would never have read that if not for [scary offline friend A]. And I would never have ...
Okay, I'm going to stop tracing this back and just credit Jukashi for everything.

... Yeah, but I never consider Raril a bard in my head. He just doesn't seem flamboyant enough or something. I dunno, it just never sticks there and so I forget almost every time. Sowwy.
