Ahahaha, wonderful! Could you be talked into posting the lyrics?
I'm really glad so many people still want to stay and make DD enjoyable (and even more surprised that so many heeded my call - though I'm surprised none of you guys went the "you've got my bow" route :smalltongue:).
Also, yay, more Curly reviews! Gotta admit that's probably the most enjoyable thing we have right now!
Heh. I did my best with improv.
Here are the lyrics:
Spoiler
Show
We will (Whill) miss you Traizoi in our Thread
But in our Hearts you wont be Dead
Whill miss you for all the laughs you brought
You will never be forgot
Like the comic mookie makes
Its realy bad
It has bad outakes
But thanks to you and me and us
We can make this comic the best and stuuuf.
This is the Domonic Deagan Thread
Read the comic to find out that youd rather be dead
Because it realy has some poor plot points, and characters and art and realy insensitive stuff.
But that isnt enough
We will try forever
Our mission will end never
Whill try again,
again and again,
again and again
Yes, we now our stuff is futile
But whill try our best
We will put this comic to our
reely hard and difficult test
We want to show how mookie sucks at writing everything
But in our hearts we hear the music sing
(Of the Snarkers, of the Snarker thread)
(Of the Snarkers, of the Snarker thread)
Of the snarker thread
Whill miss you, we wave you goodbuy
Dont turn around anymore
The comic will just increase in quality
Like Jersey Shore (I never watched that show)
But the thing is youl soon see
Its still fun for you and me
So join us again
Our very best friend
Once youve, once youve got your fill of notseeingaterribleandverybadcomic!
You know what? We are wallowing way too much! We need to Restart the encyclopedia! Something to inject more flavour!

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
So, I'm looking into Wikispot now. Not entirely sure if a snark wiki fits with the community guidelines. Would people be interested in restricting themselves to (potentially extensive!) constructive criticism, or should we look elsewhere?

My worry is that either things could get out of hand, or our intent could be misconstrued by a casual observer.

Well the Bad Webcomic Wiki (They used wikidot, right?) got away with pretty everything and nobody ever took them down. Making up your own passive aggressive fanon for a webcomic seems pretty tame when that manages to fly. I don't think there's anyone clamoring to defend Dominic Deegan on a wiki, so the chances of being reported seem slim.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
No, see, Wikidot is distinct from Wikispot. The only reason I'm not facepalming at this, as you presumably are, is the fact that this week has sapped me of all motivation of any kind. This is why I'm leading a group project and trying to build consensus for the creation of a wiki. :smallconfused:

Oy, can't believe I didn't notice that. So yeah, I am facepalming, but only at myself.

You just described most of the strips in the past year or so.
The sad thing? Those might have been the better strips. Especially the photo excuses.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
So remind me, why does Dominic need to draw the Destroyer?
He's a Seer, with a collection of crystal balls that show images in them. He's been to the Plane of Destruction, and he's been in physical contact with the creature itself. I'm fairly certain that I can show you a strip where each of these three things alone are enough for Dominic to project an image for people to see, rather than doing it by hand. :smallconfused:
Unless his Second Sight isn't working properly.... Interpreted in the correct context, Dominic's reference to his "separate mental and physical projections" offer yet more evidence for the "Clone-Dominic Theory".
....Please don't correct me. The distant hope that I am right is the only thing keeping me going. :smallfrown:

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
I know its been mentioned, but I have to say it again, The whole "Lets humor dominic and his bad drawing" was screwed up considering the sketch really wasnt that bad. About the only thing missing was an example of the scale involved. Have him draw a tiny little stick figure and say, "That was the beast btw. Then put a dot next to that and say, "That was me"
Oh, that brings up another issue. Dom has shown that he is easily capable of increasing his mental projections size. http://www.dominic-deegan.com/view.php?date=2004-04-23 As an example. So why did he allow himself to feel all puny and weak compared to the beast?

Next time on DeeganBallZ!
Dominic tells the same story to Miranda, who rubs her chin and looks worried. Then she asks about the wedding plans.

I've done it before, I'll do it again!
Woo, I can't wait! I've already put plenty of obligations on my plate, but damned if I don't like the idea of LAT.

Archive trawling. Is that where we pick random comics and tear them apart, mocking mookie unmercifully?

Also sometimes we kick puppies and murder transients.

No, that's where we go through the whole archive tearing apart and mocking where appropriate.
The Let's Archive Trawl idea is to be carried out on other, better webcomics, so there should be a lot less mocking.
-
Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
Do the puppies look like small giant cats? I think that is too many adjectives.
So, Wikidot is fine with the BWW, Wikispaces hosts that Eragon thing with the drinking game and stuff. Clearly, either one would definitely fit us, tone-wise, and I'm more familiar with Wikidot.
If anyone has any issue with the way I'm making the wind blow, or thinks that we could get our tone to consistently work with Wikispot, let me know. I figure I'll gauge the reaction, and launch The New Encyclopedia Dominica in the morning.
Oh also, let me know if you'd prefer a different name.
-
Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
Better err on the side of caution and go with Wikidot, I'd say.
"The Encyclopedia Dominica" is the perfect name. Why would anyone want it differently? :smallwink:
It's awesome that you're doing this, mwchase! I'm sorry I don't have much input, but I know next to nothing about wikis (and don't have the time to learn, unfortunately).

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
I second everything Glass Mouse said concerning the wiki.
Also what she said in regards to TheArsenal's musical farewell to Trazoi, for that matter.

I don't post here all that often anymore, but I'll be damned if I let Mookie beat me. His next project, on the other hand, can go **** itself.

I'd have gone that route, but "you've got my keyboard" just doesn't have the right ring to it.
Now, to drag this thread back to My Little Pony; I was, um, trying to figure out what cutie marks Dominic Deegan characters would have if they were ponies. Dominic should have a stylized eye that radiates wavy lines, Luna needs multiple cutie marks, Rachel can have either a brick or a face, Donovan gets something music related, of course, Karnak needs food on his flank, and the less said about Stonewater's mark, the better. I got stuck on figuring out Greg's, though I just realized that his loss of white magic could be taken to mean that he lost his cutie mark as well.
I need help.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
Augh... Late-night RP... not enough food... I'm going to get to work, just as soon as I have some breakfast.
Now, looking to the future, I want to mostly be responsible for the tech side of things, because that's what really interests me. I'm fine devoting my free time to bashing out new CSS (or checking over CSS that someone else has bashed out, if they felt like it), or making pages easier to edit, or whatever. I don't feel like mediating or moderating or anything like that, so I'm going to really appreciate it if someone else steps up in that regard.
Was even too sleepy to watch any more MLP:FiM, and too bad, because I wished to experience more of this peculiar "smiling out of simple happiness" sensation.

Now, now, there's always a chance the next project will be better.
The law of constant worsening is tied to Dominic Deegan, not to Mookie's career.
As for the people committing to the long term, I'll be here, but I'm not a real snarker anyway, so declaring myself in or out doesn't really mean anything.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
Okay, the wiki now exists at http://encyclopedia-dominica.wikidot.com/. Would people rather jump right in and get to work, or is there any initial setup that people want? Wikidot is pretty flexible, so if you want, for example, custom page categories (I'm pretty sure you can make those on your own, but as admin, I can make them nicer in various ways. I'm actually not sure if regular users can't do that, but I'm pretty sure it's my responsibility, either way.), css themes (which I can set per-category, joy!), or pages as forms (which lets you do stuff like fill in fields for character profiles, stuff like that), let me know... somewhere. Anything else you want, it probably doesn't hurt to ask. At the moment, the site is just-created. (So especially let me know if I have to tweak the access settings any.)
-
Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
Awesomeawesomeawesome!
Apparantly, I can't create new pages unless I'm an admin? Aw.
I say, if you'd like to make a cool design or something, go for it! Anything you do will be cooler than the current design.
Other than that, meh. If given the opportunity to jump right in and experiment my way into the wiki, I'll probably do that. First step is putting everything we have into that wiki, in any case.
-
Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
I think I fixed that. Right now, it's open-season on joining; I'm assuming the default settings won't let anything too crazy happen if anybody trawls for open wikis, and if it does, then I suppose I'll have learned a valuable lesson.

Re: Dominic Deegan: Oracle for Hire, Mk. XXXIII: DeeganBallZ
Id still like to know why dom had himself be so tiny in comparison to the beast and the guardian when we have seen his ability to increase his size.
