Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Highlights for me:
The opening veiw of the place was better than the one we got from Deaths Domain. Plenty of wierd places to look over and snach ideas from, too.
Weird monsters. From the grey beaked guys to the two-headed weirdos, the whole place teemed with so much diversity it puts the Candy Kingdom to shame.
We get a few seconds of Marceline in a suit, before, you know, she starts growing tenticals and jazz. Presumably the scraching sound I heard a few moments into veiwing was that of artists scribbling with fury.
Slenderman-ish Finn. No, realy, look at that thing. That gem must be different on Humans than whatever you call grey/blue skinned magical demon-thingies. Wonder what would happen if Jake put it on?
Oh, and Abadeer. Makes up for a season being away be uttering and preforming some of the most heartwarming/amusing/horrible things seen in the show so far. I mean, realy, "Daddies little monster" and "Let's bury the hatchet. See how I'm not killing you?" is alongside such wonderful acts like tricking said daughter into becoming effectivly a brainwashed demon-thing? Wonderful guy, made even worse if you think that to him its perfectly fine, having worn a gem with the same mind-altering properties as other magical artifacts seen so far for most of his life.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Man, CE Finn was like CE Aang in Avatar State.:smalleek: It also adds some depth into Marceline's Dad. He had the amulet his whole life. Perhaps that's how he turned so evil. Along with the Ice King's backstory, there are some pretty interesting villains. I want Me-Mow to return too.
I'm looking forward to future episodes this season too, especially "the Lich."

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
One plot flaw I saw with Me-Mow was this: Why didn't Jake just expand so large that his nostrils were huge and Me-Mow just fell out?
That said, it was still a cool episode and Me-Mow was pretty cool. Also, Princess Wildberry's medical condition was hilarious.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Makes one wonder if every kingdom in Ooo could be traced to some human who found a object of power and eventualy warped a bit after learning that they could like, shape suger into buildings and people or bring life to fire and crap.
On the other hand, Lemongrab is supposed to turn up again later into the season, and the episode is supposed to be about him and Princess Bubblegum. If we go by his amusing/depressing way of life in Too Young, this may either be hilarious or on a level of wham as Holly Jolly Secrets.

Look at the characters: it's a bizarre, surreal comedy. Don't over think it. Why didn't Jake just expand his liver at the start? Besides, look at the mental states of most of the characters. What was his plan for escaping the gladiator stadium?
-
Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Me-Mow would've just latched on. Have you ever played with a kitten? Think about just how sharp their little claws are. Now imagine that inside your nose.
Besides... Fifty-one times dog liver was hilarious enough for me to forgive almost anything that might've been wrong.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
He also didnt know what to do.
He didnt know the poison was liver based.
Up next THE LICH
Oh yeah

What a truly vile man. I interpret he was an evil businessman before the mushroom war.
Heheh, the family business. See all that chaos out there? The night-o-sphere feeds on that chaos. Heheh, paraphrased. :P
Marceline didn't have bitemarks in the child-hood flash-back in "Marceline's Closet" so she probably was apparently turned somewhere between talking-to-dolls-little-girlhood and being a teenager with a crappy boyfriend. I don't know if it's been clarified yet if she did it on her own or if Hunson somehow afflicted vampirism on her?
I think maybe... grey/blue-toned people with elf-ears are a demon type? There's the red-toned people too but they are less formed and seem subservient. Weird. Maybe grey toned and blue toned demons are different but viable. *shrug*
Muy favourite thing about Hunson is how he moves when he is wearing his original, humanoid shape. He goes all spidery. He doesn't bend right. He's usually looking slightly in the wrong direction, cuz that body doesn't feel right anymore. I have a feeling his family has been using that amulet to run the business for a whooooooooole lot of generations. Hunson was probably chaotic evil without the amulet. He was raised that way by a pro.
Also... am I doing it wrong or is the cartoon network actually saying repeats tonight instead of a new one? :( The main page for adventure time says new ones every monday, too. This makes me sad.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Marceline is a thousand years old. The mushroom war happened a thousand years ago.
Being a businessman might have been a family buisnes.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Yeah, its entirely possible that he went up north to Scandanavia, got a neat little gift from the guy he was helping move large amounts of jewelry vi internatinal waters, and later slowly turned into the cyan-skinned freak he is today. Of course, this conflicts with his daughter already not being "human" before the end of the world, but it fits neverless.
-
Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
She could be a demon Vampire.
-
Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Nah, we have seen demons. My guess is half-whateverherdadis, if only because she and her dad managed to survive the end of the world and jazz scavaging. Note that she got her little bite mark sometime after the whole fries incident, so she had to have had some way of surviving the whole "obliteration of mankind and radioactive fallout" part of the whole thing before being able to ignore it vi undeath.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
B-Mo playing soccer=SUPER CUTE!!!
Also, the reveal at the end=EPIC!!!:smalleek:

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
I only caught the last few minutes of the episode...
From the previews, I figured out that the book they mentioned was going to be the Enchiridion. But that reveal at the end... Wow... I don't think anyone could've guessed that was coming.

Yeah, that's the only book of importance mentioned. Nice continuity with it. This is going to make the episode...
...all the more epic.
That bear is a cunning mastermind!

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Holy crap...
Spoiler
Show
At this rate, Billys song will be prophetic. After all, Finn has delt with a evil ocean (at least to him), a firey noble (well, not in person), and he has fought with a bear (well, he yelled at it, but thats fighting in a different way.). Now all he must do is fight the Lich....King. :smalleek:

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
He already beat the Lich... Twice. Granted, neither was entirely on his own and the Lich has been shown to learn from past defeats, but they count. So here's a checklist...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWUV8Qeofjw
Greatest warrior ever? Check.
A hero of renown? Yep.
Beat an evil ocean? You know it.
Cast the Lich King down? Twice.
Defeated Fire Kingdom nobility? He did.
Had a princess offer him her hair? Yes.
Fought a bear? A-huh.
-
Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Besides that, Finn has already gone into several worlds and defeated a Demon Lord, so all thats missing is him walking up ice stairs made by the Ice King to use the things he learned about himself while facing the ocean to beat the magical wards in a grand tower, all while using the little chunk of Bubblegums hair to replicate a key. Then, and only then, he could free Flame Princess and give her a kiss. :smalltongue:
EDIT: Actualy just added my guess on TV Tropes in the WMG section.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Dude, Jake totally said "grok"! Hell yeah Stranger in a Strange Land reference!
-
Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
I think Finn should stay a hug wolf in the next episode. It might help him fight the Lich.
-
Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Dude, power of love defeated him already. He would probably turn Jake into a shadow on a wall with those radiation-fualed powers of his.

Love? No. It was power of liking someone a lot. There's a difference.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Well, had a thought: how long is this show going to last? I mean, it's past the traditinal limits for run-time for animated shows (75 episodes, 100 episodes, ect) and just by going by on the other longer-running shows on CN, about seven seasons seems likely to me. Of course, anyone else have anything to say about it?

Hard to say. This could be Cartoon Network's equivalent of the Simpsons.
-
Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
It's certainly funnier than modern episodes of The Simpsons.
-
Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Or worse. It could become cartoon networks Spongebob.
Ugh. Either way these new kids channels need to stop pushing crappy sitcoms and get some awesome cartoons.

I agree. Level Up is the most offensive thing to geekdom and gaming since the Phantom Menace.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
I remember cartoon network of the past (and I rewatched some of the shows so its not just nostalgia goggles) . Filled with some Mediocre-Great cartoons. Thats fine. Its alright to have some mediocre cartoons.
Its just now all Crap except for 1 amazing cartoon. 1 cartoon can't carry an entire channel!:smallyuk:
