Diva De, I think it would be very heartbreaking for Fin's family if he got killed just after coming back.

Erikun, because why not.
Diva De for the third wagon.
Retaliatory point at Fleeing Coward
Fleeing Coward. Can't think of a legitimate reason other than a slight distaste for live chickens. But a grilled one would be wonderful right now.
Narrator update: Apologies for day phase running long, though it was intentional in this case to give people more time to submit for the contest. For this purpose, I will allow the phase to run until Monday night when I get in from work. End of day narration will be posted at that point and the judges will have until the end of night to make their choices.
Sadly I'm just not very artsy.
Can the five judges let me know if they couldn't listen to my submission?
I listened to your submission it was quite impressive if short.
Roosters aren't so bad, Dive De.
I've created a little something as well!
To make things a bit easier for our judges, here are links to each of the submissions received thus far (I've given each a title):
Lindon - Danse attachée de corde
Spoiler
Seven girls danced seductively around a man sitting in the center, he appeared to be playing a flute of sorts, but it was the most entrancing music ever played. He stopped for a moment, and they all stopped in their place. It was as if his flute's noise was their movement. It looked beautiful, a level of beauty that was frightening. He began to play again, faster notes, and the girls began to spin and spin and dance in movements flowing perfectly to the sound of his instrument. The dance appeared choreographed, and at the same time, a perfect chaos. He was the true dancer, these girls were simply the perfect choice to follow his music. He had played on the streets every night for years, taught dance to these girls, taught them to lose themselves how he did, and now here he was, beautifully garbed, dancing in front of the Imperial Majesty and many other powerful folk. His notes began to slow, and so did the girls, so slow they seemed to move in slow motion, they appeared almost be floating, defying gravity. And then the music stopped. They all fell to the ground, cloaked by their beautiful black dresses, and the man stepped forward and a pure beautiful note came forth from his mouth- and he began to sing. The notes were pure and clean and his voice echoed throughout the room, hauntingly beautiful as everyone fell to silence. And then he smiled, and began to dance. A dance he had done a thousand times on a street corner, in a back alley, but never in front of people like this. He was excited, but his emotions would not be shown, all they needed to see were his feet. His legs moved swiftly and quickly, his voice rang out true, each note and rhythm perfectly in sync with each toe as it touched ground.
TinyMushroom - Raven par nuit

billtodamax - La composition en nuit (Composition)
Alarra - Même les monstres sont civils
The_Grimmace - Jeune dame dans les jardins
Elder Tsofu - Bonaparte franchissant le Grand-Saint-Bernard
Lord Loss - L'Aube Du Loup
M. Tsofu had literately worked day and night since the announcement of the arts competition, and now on the eve of the final day he felt confident in presenting his submission.

He felt that the heroic pose and inspiring object would combine into a piece that would lift peoples spirits through these troubled times.
QUESTION!
Do i pick one entry for the judge vote or more?
Judging Rules
Each judge gets to select three pieces in order of preference (1st, 2nd, 3rd), submitting their judgements to the narrators via PM once night begins. Votes will be tallied from all 5 judges and the winners will be determined thereby.
Winners will be noted as part of the night narration. Prizes awarded will be sent via PM with the exception of Imperial Favor tokens which will be mentioned in the aforementioned narration.
LeLoup walked into the art hall in his wolfen form, his oversized suit stained with blood. Those around him shrunk into the shadows, intimidated by the presence of the bold wolf. He didn't look at any of the people admiring the art. An empty space lay near the centre of the wall, there he placed a painting, removing the bag covering it as he did so. He had painted a few pictures of beautiful wolves in the winter, but none of them had turned out right. In the end, he chose to go with something more like an autobiography. ''L'Aube Du Loup'', he called it.
Having done his work, he left the bulding, snarling at the guards as he went by. The sun was setting. It was time to hunt.
:smalleek:
Well maybe I can get third.....
We didn't actually have to make the artwork ourselves, did we? Tsofu used a famous painting, so I assumed we could use stuff found on the net...
Going to go with Diva De before day ends
Eh? I would have found something to enter if I realized we could just grab whatever. I figured we had to do our own work.
Lynch vote is now concluded - narration to post shortly. Judges, you may begin deliberating.
I was under the impression that the work had to be our own as well.
I'd certainly recommend that those who created their submissions be rewarded for effort and creativity.
Yeah, of judges pick someone who just grabbed some artwork from the web, I'm gonna feel cheated.
This is the part of narrating/administrating I enjoy least - dealing with problems arising from an attempt to step outside of the box. Also, whether it's better to discuss this in thread (better cross-pollination of opinions) or via PMs (less game disruption).
So obviously there isn't an elegant answer for this, since I was insufficiently clear in the contest opener, and one way or another I leave people dissatisfied.
:sigh:
Either I rule out the last two entries (and possibly the photo?), which means I'm really making a contest that most people aren't going to compete in - which wasn't the purpose of the event. I mean, only seven players took part as it is (including the disputed ones).
Or I leave them in, and those who put hard work into the contest entries of their own feel ripped off or have to compete against several lifetimes' worth of artistic talent in the form of images of classical (and otherwise) artwork pulled off the internet.
Or I run two seperate contests, pushing this event into yet another day to give people time to participate in the one of their choosing.
Or I have the judges vote in two seperate categories and reduce prize support somewhat to make up for this fact.
Or I cancel the event entirely, take back the judge tokens, apologize to everyone for not having the good sense to realize a clarifier would be neccesary, and move on.
Or I take the weasel way out and let the judges decide how they want to do it individually - if they feel that people's hard work is more worthy of award, then they'll vote in favor of those entries.
Honestly ... I don't know what's best for the game and players at this point.
I'd just let it run its course. It's a good event idea. I chose not to enter simply because I'm not artistically creative nor do I enjoy trying to be.
My recommendation was to the players who are judges. I'd just encourage them to reward those who took the time to create something of their own.
I'd say let the contest run, and let the judges decide if a good piece from another artist should be ranked higher than a personally done artwork. I would suggest anyone looking to mention if they did each work by themselves or found it online.
I know that I didn't participate because I'd assumed the works were intended to be self-made, and there is little more than a MSPaint scribble I could complete within a day or so.
