Re: Report Inappropriate Ads Here
From the Kickstarter page the ad links to, in case it's helpful:
Quote:
Soft Core pits friends against each other on teams, looking to take each other out, with either points or drinks. As you play through lightning fast rounds, you will use the cards in your hand to tell a story based on the rounds genre card. After a few rounds the team with the highest score wins, but don't think the game will go that smoothly!
...
Soft Core is a collaborative drinking game played with at least two people, but preferably with six or more. This game is about everyone helping describe scenes from a "not so quality" soft core movie.
This can be done by describing the ridiculous situations happening in the film, or creating dialogue for the characters using the cards in your hand. You do this by using the cards with your own humor, combining them in three ridiculous sentences.

Re: Report Inappropriate Ads Here
I see the "softcore" Ad too

Re: Report Inappropriate Ads Here
Saw it as well, and the lipstick stain and 'soft core' combination really doesn't seem safe for work.

2.) Region (Pick one: USA, Canada, Europe, or Rest of the World): USA
3.) Location of ad (Top box or bottom box): Bottom
4.) Brief description of objectionable content (including a name or other identifying characteristic): A very scantily clad woman was depicted. Also said something about "I need a tee shirt". Also, a word in some weird font. I think it was something like "Skollily", but the middle two letters were stick figures. In the time it took to report the ad, it was replaced by something else, so I am running off memory.

1.) Date and time ad was visible: 5:22 AM CST
2.) Region (Pick one: USA, Canada, Europe, or Rest of the World): USA
3.) Location of ad (Top box or bottom box): Bottom
4.) Brief description of objectionable content (including a name or other identifying characteristic): Picture is of an older gentleman (labeled Supervillain) and a significantly younger shirtless man (labeled Superhero). Reading through the first arc of the story, the lead-in is about the older Supervillain completely outmatching the seventeen-year-old superhero in a fight, and then blackmailing him into providing a sexual favor. Regardless of the genders involved, this set-up (using a 17 yo's sexual preference to blackmail them into providing sexual favors) feels super-sketchy to me.
EDIT: Reading a bit further, it was apparently just an act on the supervillains part, but letting the teen keep that kind of rapey impression is still a **** move.

I think the mere mention of "Sex Criminals." Makes it not suitable for the boards.

Description: "Does Free Will Really Exist? Or is it just an Illusion?" on a background of mottled teal, light blue and green. Its asks you to click "HERE" if you think free will exists and "HERE" is there's no free will. This may be a minor and within advertisers freedom, but its a banner, it doesn't matter where I click its the same. You can argue that the illusion of choice is relevant to the quandary they raise and maybe its valid, but I thought I would report it all the same.

But whats actually inappropriate about it? Adds are, pretty much by definition, clickbait already.

Clickbait would be "Is there free will? Click here to find out". "Click here for option A and here for option B" when the banner can only offer 1 option is arguably false advertising. I know its a minor issue, but some could find the practice objectionable, which is why I reported it.

Re: Report Inappropriate Ads Here
Mapping links to different parts of an image is definitely possible, though I don't know if they're actually doing so there or if it's possible within what's doable by a PW-hosted ad. Have you checked that they actually go to different places, or are you just assuming it?

I would point out that, from your description (I don't actually see the add in question) the add does not indicate that they would take you to different places.

Re: Report Inappropriate Ads Here
Have we really reached the point where we're reporting ads because we don't get the joke?

Since 'implying' isn't saying much, I followed the link. Can confirm, is NSFW. We're talking full-frontal nudity up ins.
And I just realized that the artist has a patreon where you can pay extra to NOT see breasts. My whole world is upside down.

They draw the clothing over the nudity. I know a lot of artists like that, but most of them draw people like they are taking an anatomy course.

Just to explain, it's a game
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Democracy_(video_game)
a rather famous and well-built management game about politics.
But dunno if it's allowed to be advertised in forum or not *shrugs*

Was reported here, a few months ago

"The game in the previous report sounds fine. No action on that one."

That was for a different game in the same franchise, which dealt with purely fictional countries. Now, this one is dealing with highly fictionalised versions of real countries in Africa, so I don't know if it changes anything.
To be clear, the game doesn't try to push any kind of political agenda, it just uses real countries as the basis for a (highly abstracted) simulation. The accuracy of modelling is about as close as the civilisations in the original Civilization game (which is to say, not accurate at all).
At any rate, no further reports are required, Rich will make the final decision. Keep in mind that what's allowed to be advertised is different to what's allowed to be discussed on the forums.

FWIW, this is not correct. From the vanilla game onwards, all countries have been "real" (the starting ones being US, Germany, Britain, France and a few others).

Then Wikipedia has mislead me. It was not wrong, per se, but worded in such a way which implied that all of the games since Democracy 2 were using fictional countries at first glance. The store pages (direct and Steam) also made no mention of the countries.
If the previous advertisement was for Democracy or Democracy 3 (not Democracy 2), I guess it's not different after all.

This ad is back as of 9:05 EDT in USA. I don't think that The Giant every commented on whether or not this was an acceptable ad.
