Re: The Wolf Game - Stranded in space - Day seven
I have been working an angle - it's called pounding the idea into those stubborn people who always believe the worst in me that trying to get rid of me only harms their team.
My role name pretty much says it all - I am The Survivor. I couldn't care less which side wins as long as I'm living at the end of it.
-
Re: The Wolf Game - Stranded in space - Day seven
Wolfbane for an alternate wagon.
I'd also like to note there are no beast-like abilities listed on the first page under 'roles' and the only 'team' explicitly stated to have unlisted abilities is neutral. I'm more inclined to think Internet Flea as some sort of neutral, especially if this ability is an ability rather than some item.

...well Day 2 showed people liked you a lot when you were pretty quickly one of the obvious event winners. People trusted you to be town, and I think many still do. I'm not trying to get you killed; I'm trying to spark conversation, and I figured you would be willing and a lot of help. You've been paying attention, and I think I can trust your judgement. Thank you for your analysis; I plan to do my own sometime today.

Actually, the crew members are listed as "Unremarkable members of the crew... or are they?" There's a definite possibility of a crew member with a minor role, such as what happened with Deathslayer7 and I (you may have noticed that Deathslayer was just a crew member, even though we were lovers of a sort).
But yes, neutral is also a possibility. Regardless, town/neutral is not priority over wolf.

Tanar was gunning for him, which works in his defense if Tanar really was a wolf. But their interaction could also have been that of two traitors who were trading blows when DS's reveal mixed things up and they used the opportunity to throw one under the bus to make the other look good.

Yeah, I was trying to add an opinion to this section of thoughts, albeit not very well. >.>
EDIT - In that I'm leaning toward Internet Flea being 'Neutral' rather than 'Wolf' based on what he has said and done in-thread so far.

Re: The Wolf Game - Stranded in space - Day seven
Having been unable to find any booze, McGinty has resorted to huffing cleaning fluid from a dirty rag. With a crazed look in his bloodshot eyes, the doped-up crewman staggers towards Shadow, pointing his finger wildly, and slurring a barely-comprehensible accusation: "W-what's yer game, eh? S-seems like yer actin' all n-neutral, not carin' who's t-traitor and who's c-crew, but yer not like 'im..." His arm shoots out sideways, in the vague direction of Fleeing Coward. "...e's said right from the s-start what he's about. N-neutral scum 'e may be, but at least e's got the g-guts to admit it. Y-you, though... Y-you've been actin' like you w-want us to think you's a n-neutral, but without m-makin' any kind of c-claim. If y'ask m-me, that's ex-exec-e-exackly the k-kind of thing a t-traitor would want to d-do." Looking pleased with his monologue, McGinty smiles broadly at the rest of the crew, before collapsing face first onto the floor.

Re: The Wolf Game - Stranded in space - Day seven
OK so this is the third time or so that people want to say that I'm not involved.
A to McG's comment above, why would I make a claim about anything?
I've already told you why I'm quiet here.
There are roles that aren't listed. What's a Delusional Crew member? What's a Medic? Heck, my role isn't listed on the rules.
There are powers that players have that aren't listed in the rules. How did Ruki come back from the dead?
There are items that people have that can change what's happening. Heck, I have one of them, and if you try to lynch me you'll be wasting the day because I can change something.
I haven't role claimed in this thread because I despise role claims in a ganeral sense. And anyway, what good would it do me if I claimed any particular non-wolf role? Would you believe me? Fine. Pretend I claimed a neutral role.
And speaking of neutrals, we don't know thier roles or goals either. What happens when some of them strt fulfilling thier win conditions? WE're a week in, it's probably going to start happenning soon. Will they start leaving, throwing our timetable off and inadvertantly handing the game to the traitors, or will they stay and help banish the traitors? We don't know, because we don't know their roles.
I'm in no one's inner circle. I'm in no one's community. I'm just here by myself, with no idea what has been happening at all because there are too many things that weren't told to us.
So now I'm going to go back to my corner, and continue to not know what's going on.
And you're going to let me. Because if you try to stop me you'll be sorry that you did.
-
Re: The Wolf Game - Stranded in space - Day seven
*looks at Shadow* See now that's overly defensive aspi. The way I behaved was the way I pretty much always behave. Trying not to get lynched without a good solid reason, which is a lot harder for me than it sounds.
Also aspi, I'd like to ask why you didn't say anything about Count Dingdong what with the possibility of he and Deathslayer having lied to us about their roles.
I think I'm going to stay on otakuryoga's wagon since I see no reason to believe Tanar wasn't the Camouflage Expert given how he got lynched, so I don't see how anyone would be disguised at this point. That said, it would have been a solid policy for us to follow earlier. And I do think it's a good idea to have more than just one wagon a day. Hard to learn anything on days when everyone is on the same wagon or such.

I, uhh... what possibility? Deathslayer7 was just night-killed as a crew member. Deathslayer7 and I both vouched for each other, which highly supports our claim that we're partner roles (what would be the point of lying, and why in the world would someone support that if they didn't 100% trust the other player's alignment?), so I believe my claim is pretty much proven (and I'm dead in a night or two...). Perhaps you want to say that Deathslayer7 was disguised and then killed, but rules-as-written make it seem that the disguise only persists if they're lynched, not if they're night-killed (it'd be quite even more unfair otherwise...), though I'm perfectly fine with getting an answer from Nonayer first.
Basically, why in the world is that even a possibility? ...and what in the world would be the point of muddying the waters even more with it? :smallconfused:
Okay, let me follow aspi's reasoning and go to the one of his names that I agree is possible wolf: Ramsus. I've been giving you the benefit of the doubt, man, but the way you've been playing has been to add confusion and uncertainty to the mix. Points against you:
1) You were on the AsteronIronhoof wagon. Sure, that's not a big point, but it's something to look at.
2) You backed up the idea of lynching people integral in trying to change the lynch away from AsteronIronhoof. Again, not something big, but it's something when you consider that AsteronIronhoof was disguised.
3) You've been playing the "don't trust Fleeing Coward" card much of this game. Again, it's FC claiming neutral, so I see where you're coming from. But, well, it's not the only "don't trust!" sentiment you've been giving.
4) When Haruki came back, you pretty much started off by saying that we should no longer trust him. I agree on principle, but by that point, any information that would be problematic he already had... so nothing would be improved by NOT talking with him, even if he had switched teams.
5) Oh look, another post saying to distrust someone, even though there was "that whole lovers or whatever claim deal"
6) And now you're telling everyone not to trust me. I mean, seriously, what do I have to do to prove my role aside from being nightkilled? :smallsigh:
So yeah. Basically, from what I've seen of you this game, your modus operandi is to tell everyone not to trust anybody. FC, Haruki, DS7, me. I see little if any contribution otherwise. You've been following along otherwise, and at this point, I really don't see why I shouldn't vote you.
-
Re: The Wolf Game - Stranded in space - Day seven
What? Again, why should anyone blindly trust anyone? Only wolves want us to do that.
I said it's possible that you and Deathslayer were lying about your lovers claim as nothing of the sort came up when he died and I've never seen a game where lovers isn't something that shows up. The whole "not being able to speak about it" thing always struck me as fishy and as I said several times before Deathslayer struck me as really off most of the game. That said, until you mentioned it just now I hadn't considered the possibility of town having some kind of night kill and hitting Deathslayer with it while he was disguised. And frankly that's still really unlikely since the disguiser died before Deathslayer did. I never actually said why you guys might have lied, there's plenty reasons in a game like this to lie about your role. It does seem a mite defensive of you to automatically leap to the conclusion that I was calling you a wolf. Especially since if I strongly felt that way (more than say 40% sure) I would have just come out and said so.
And if we're going to compare people's play, the only thing you've seemed to do is hide behind the lover's claim and basically let your supposed lover do all the heavy lifting on arguments for the lynch while contributing almost nothing yourself as far as I recall (although honestly, nobody should trust my memory off-hand).
But since we're now discussing the possibility of Count Dingdong being a wolf (probably not a high chance, but might as well do the theory exercise) the best wolf scenario I see for why he and Deathslayer would lie about their roles would simply be Count Dingdong convincing Deathslayer he was something important and part of a network (which the wolves technically are so he'd have the other people to call on to back this up with in private) and to go along with a lie to confuse "the wolves". Then there's the possibility Count and Deathslayer were both town, but not what they said they were, and were claiming such to throw the wolves off while basically having Deathslayer act as the network's mouthpiece. And then there's the possibility they weren't lying at all and this game is just weird and being lovers apparently isn't important enough to announce upon death. (Weird but.... this game is full of weird.)
Not even gonna dignify the idea that telling people not to trust the most notorious liar on the forum is a "play" of any kind and a sign of wolfdom.
Edit: Wait a second..... Count Dingdong, if your lover is dead, why are you still alive? :smallconfused:
-
Re: The Wolf Game - Stranded in space - Day seven
So I'm going to jump in to say we still need support for a wagon today. Preferably two wagons; there's some weird stuff going on and I'm not entirely sure one is enough. I'm okay with any of the wagons so far, but unless something changes pretty quickly here I'd rather we lynch otakuryoga today, just because of how sketchy it was for him to show up right before the autolynch deadline. We still need two votes for that, to go through, and I'd like more votes on Wolfbane or Ramsus in case otaku won't lynch for whatever reason. Unless we want the Vigilante to decide, which... didn't work last time, so I don't trust it.

I never once said we were lovers or standard ones at that. :smalltongue: I said that he was my partner role, and I had to find him but was restricted in what I could say. He doesn't die with me, and we were crew members through and through. Essentially, we had a minor role that activated if we found each other: we were put in contact, confirmed of each other's role, and while we were both alive, we could get a third vote by voting for the same person (we tried to use it to enforce the tie yesterday). Now that Deathslayer7's dead, I've lost that power.
Basically, the part that said that crew members aren't just vanillagers... well, that applies to us at least. To anyone who asked (and some people did!), I told them that Deathslayer and I were just crew members with a partner. "Lovers" fits the bill for the role, but we don't die together.
That said, I do like your response; it seems genuine, and I'll trust my read here. I'll switch back to otakuryoga in hopes for a lynch and trying to get some input from him. Otakuryoga, who do you think is more suspicious than you, and why? Because, really, you're pretty far up there on my suspicion list.

You and Death both voted for IF yesterday. If you had a third vote, why is Tanar dead?

That's the "weird stuff" I mentioned. It's possible the wolves can block the lynch, or reduce votes or something. But I doubt they can stop two valid lynches at the same time so I'd like to get two wagons past minimum.
-
Re: The Wolf Game - Stranded in space - Day seven
Ok so.... vote tally time?
otakuryoga: 3 (Internet Flea, Ramsus, Count Dingdong)
Wolfbane: 3 (aspi, Rain Dragon, otakuryoga)
Internet Flea: 1 (Shadow)
Shadow: 1 (Mrs McGinty)
So yeah.... that's not enough to lynch anyone at all unless the Captain is on otakuryoga's wagon. Again, where the heck is everyone else? Unless we're doing another Captain test today (because we're trying to get them outed (and thus killed) or something?) it would be good if we got more people on the leading wagons.
Edit: Added otakuryoga's vote to the tally.

Re: The Wolf Game - Stranded in space - Day seven
Without much time to think about everything and less time to write much of anything, I'll tie otakuryoga with Wolf and hope this doesn't make me too suspicious.
So can anybody give me a short recap? I've actually managed to read everything, but frankly... all it does is confuse me. Who are good lynch targets and who is suspicous of being a traitor?

Well, given that the rules of this game state that there is no lynch on a tie, causing a tie about 2 hours before the day might end is a bit suspicious.
That said, you didn't actually tie them, Ramsus already included otakuryoga's vote retroactively in his tally. So we currently have:
otakuryoga: 4 (Internet Flea, Ramsus, Count Dingdong, Mordokai)
Wolfbane: 3 (aspi, Rain Dragon, otakuryoga)

Re: The Wolf Game - Stranded in space - Day seven
Hmmm, we're dangerously close to outing the Captain to the wolves or even winding up with no lynch at all. Could a couple people (basically whoever is awake before the day ends very soon) switch/vote for the first time on one of the two leading wagons so that doesn't happen? I would myself, but I'm already on the leading wagon and am about to go to sleep right now and don't want to risk screwing things up somehow.

Mhmm.
Switching to: Otakuryoga in that case.

Otakuryoga is more suspiciousn of the two. Though it would be preferable if wolfbane could start participating more after today.

Re: The Wolf Game - Stranded in space - Night Seven
Everyone was gathered on the bridge talking about their grim situation. No one really felt like another murder but they knew they had to go on. There weren't many of them left and it still seemed like anyone could be traitor. Paranoia ran high among the crew and trust was at an all time low. Everyone that seemed even remotely trustworthy were long dead. The few survivors had to rely on their wit to get out of this predicament alive.
"We need to determine who the last traitors are, otherwise we're all screwed!" someone spoke from the group.
"How are we going to do that, captain obvious?"
"How about we get rid of those that aren't usually here?"
Everyone fell silent at that suggestion as they looked around the room to see who was missing.
"Otakuryoga and Sange are almost never here!"
"I saw them sneaking together at some point!"
Thoroughly convinced of their guilt the crew began their hunt for the two.
***
Otakuryoga and Sange were together in the mess hall having a good meal and reminiscing about the good days when all they had to worry about were their duties on the ship and how they would spend their money once their tour with the navy was over. They both jumped out of their seats when the doors to the mess hall opened and the rest of the crew stormed in with crowbars and other improvised weapons. Knowing what was coming the two scrambled for one of the other exits from the room. The crew advanced steadily as if there was no need to hurry. When the two reached one of the doors they immediately noticed it was locked. They ran to all the other doors but they were all sealed shut and by this point they were cornered into a small section of the large room.
Their only option was to fight. Without saying a word to each other they picked up chairs and with a primal guttural roar they charged the incoming assailants. The crew was so surprised by this move that a few of them were knocked out by chairs to the head before they could even react. The two friends almost broke through to the only usable exit when agent Cobalt was there, but he was unarmed so the two took him lightly. He dodged their chairs and with a mighty kick he knocked a few teeth out of Sange's mouth. He didn't have time to celebrate his victory as Otaku was still swinging and it was increasingly harder to stay outside the range of his chaotic movements.
Kezzan sneaked behind the frenzied man and with a swift bottle to the head knocked him out cold. The rest of the crew had immobilized Sange in the meantime. With the fight now over all they had to do was to decide how to finish them off. Not feeling up to anything fancy after their little scuffle they tied the two to the same chairs they used as weapons and carried them to the hangar. They waited for them to wake up, then they took some guns from the armory and took potshots at the two. After all, the stars of the show needed to be awake for the event. The few remaining survivors were fairly bad shots so it took a while until they managed to score some hits. The two prisoners had to endure miss after nerve wrecking miss until finally someone had the mercy to land a fatal shot.
Day seven is now over. Night seven begins now and ends in 48 hours.

Re: The Wolf Game - Stranded in space - Night seven
Whelp, I had hoped to get a bit more out of that, but... if I'm going out, I'm going to go out with a bang!
aspi is a wolf
Yes, that's right. Why do I know that? Well, let's rewind a bit. Remember how Deathslayer7 said he scried AsteronIronhoof and found out he was town? Well... the scry was real, but I was the one with the item. Like what I assume was the case for most of the drones, there were 2 uses (both DS7's and mine had 2 uses). We figured that switching interpretations of who had what was important, so I stayed in the background and let DS7 do the talking and claim the scry and the item. In the meantime, I used my second scry on Tanar Aerdoth (it was important, what with the lynch result...) and got... an odd result.
Tanar Aerdoth was the Captain
How wolves reversed the tie on the Captain I cannot fathom, but it means that not only have we not killed a wolf yet (unless one of our town-lynches was wolf?) but that the disguiser is still out there. My hope is that it's aspi. Why? Well, let's see...

In his place, I had a one-use night kill and was almost assuredly the next death. So... let me go out with a bang and take out at least one wolf with me.
This is why I asked for aspi's input, and I was perhaps a bit transparent with my attempts at getting information from him. :smalltongue: Regardless, I've pretty much confirmed my suspicions of him, and you all have a bit to analyze! Mission accomplished...
So. Tonight. I welcome my death. I realize it's happening. I won't run. I'm killing aspi and getting my vengeance for Deathslayer and myself. I've been informed by Nonayer that the disguise doesn't hold for night-kills, so you'll see the truth of my statement upon night-end. As it is, I've kept silent about this new information for a reason: I wanted to see if anyone let anything slip, and I've at least confirmed my suspicions of aspi (he said Tanar couldn't have been disguised yesterday and then brings up the possibility of the disguiser still being alive today... huh :smallamused:). I had hoped that him being against otakuryoga's lynch might mean that otakuryoga was a wolf as well, but either he was disguised, or that was a wrong assumption. Regardless, I think today's lynch was the right one.
Good luck, town! Let's hope I've been of some help!
