Yes, it looks good! she says. You're so good at cooking...
Helen grabs a plate.
I was trained for a couple of years about cooking, so I ought to be. She says with a smile, serving up a plate for Helen.
Oh, nice. Helen says.
She grabs a fork...and starts eating it. It's really delicious.
Thanks. She gets her own plate of food.
So...have you met any guys recently? Helen asks. Astrid so so good at cooking, it shouldn't be hard to find someone. 'Cause the fastest way to a man's heart is through his stomach.
Astrid shakes her head. Not really. I think it might help if I left the base more often. She says with a shrug sitting down to eat.
Oh! Helen sits down also.
You should try going to the Taverna, it's not too far away, Helen says, eating more of the eggs.
Yes, I've visited it before I came here.
Oh, yeah. I never did find out what exactly you did before coming here... Helen says. So what did you used to do, again?
I was a... personal servant. Basically doing what I do here but for one man instead of a full base.
Oh? How did you like that? And was he cute? asks Helen with a sly grin.
She's still eating.
I... am much happier here. And no he definitely was not cute, or even remotely interested in me that way. She sounds sort of relived there.
Oh, that's good, Helen sighs with relief.
Well, what with you working here all the time, she says, what do you do for fun?
I work more, and sometimes I work out to keep in shape. Not much else. Sometimes I read a bit.
Well, that could be fun. Helen says. Yes, it could.
...I have to go now. 'Bye!
Helen gets up and takes her plate to the sink, saying Well, it was nice talking to you, Astrid. See ya! She walks away to the deadtime room.
Astrid waves goodbye. Then gets up and cleans up around the kitchen.
((Bye.))
[Infirmary]
Butler number 3, not be confused with Butler 2 in the tavern or Butler 1 in the library, waits for Magtok to finally be ready.
[Infirmary]
Indeed, Magtok #7140 is ready to operate and stuff. The infirmary's about 300% cleaner than the normal standards for sterile, as the cyborg's had plenty of time to prepare in all of those deadtime interruptions the last few days.
Are we all set, Butler?
[Infirmary]
"Ready when you are sir. Hurry up and look at my head so I can get some more Nuka-Cola sir." Before he grows irritable and slightly less friendly and bouncy from the radiation withdrawals.
He lies down on whatever table Magtok has set up.
Infirmary
Magtok attempts to sedate the catboy with an injection into a vein, and waits for a reaction. After that crazy healing magic incident Butler had with Quinn, he's not going to be taking any chances with the manservant's screwy physiology.
[Infirmary]
Butler is snoozing away happily, blissful and entirely trustful of anything Magtok would do. Grinning away.
Since Butler's player was mean enough to have his last surgery occur during Decker's deadtime, she isn't going to miss this one. She's all sterilized, her feathers tucked away in hospital scrubs, as she sits quietly next to him holding his hand, and trying to stay out of Magtok's way.
[Infirmary]
In this situation, that grin is more than a little disconcerting. Regardless, Magtok sets about his work, using a sort of MagGadget that makes a geiger counter look like a silly child's toy to plot his course and hunt for the damage he unwittingly afflicted upon Butler.
[Infirmary]
There it is! Right on the smile part of the brain. May explain the grin.
The Mag-inflicted tumor blinks from being spotted and waves back at him.
[Rose Garden]
Helen, the succubus, is sitting on a bench in the rose garden, reading a letter written in some language or other.
She's just sitting there, reading, and smelling the roses.
*Tap Tap Tap*
There's a tapping on the door.
____
Coming through the HALO portal is Marcos, having felt some urge to come here.
Helen hears the tapping noise, and reaizes it's the door! She gets up and runs to open the door, because nobody else is.
Oh! Hello! says the demon holding a note.
Infirmary
Magtok bites his lip and backs away at first, giving Decker a "Oh holy fudge! Are you seeing this madness too, or is it just me?" look as he does so. He takes a seat in a chair, stares at the thingy with his eye twitching a bit, and has to take a few deep breaths before he can pick himself back up again.
H-hey there, l-little guy! Now just hold on a sec, this might sting a little...
Magtok tries to figure out precisely where the tumor begins and ends, sets a precise arm motion command to his shiny gloved hand, and then takes a plasma scalpel to precisely sever the foul thing's wretched form from Butler's brain.
Behind the door is a sixteen-year-old, with a smile on his face. He has a note in one hand and a bottle in the other. A picture's worth a thousand words.
"Hey."
So...what can I help you with? asks Helen.
She looks down and notices that she's still holding the note, so she slips it in her pocket.
She also has 2 swords. And something else, hidden...
