So I'm finally done moving. It only took like a week and a half. Moved the last of my stuff yesterday. Which was my birthday! So that was fun.
It finally hit me that I'm living with two women now. They spent like half an hour last night talking about their body type (with me going 0_o all the way through). Also, there is hair everywhere.
It hit 2°C here last night. That is quite possibly the coldest it's been here in the last 20 years. I'm getting a huge ol' gas heater, like, today.

Twin Peaks was one of the weirdest tv shows of my youth. Actually, there's nothing that comes close to how weird it was. There were scenes that were played out in reverse, ladies talking to logs, thinking the log was her dead husband, an FBI Agent who was obsessed with strong coffee and after a while, I think David Lynch forgot what the initial synopsis of the series was supposed to be and it degenerated into his coffee-and-sugar-rush induced hallucinations.
Fascinating to watch back then, though. Not sure how well it's aged.

It begins as a mystery story, then turns into supernatural horror teen drama something. Beautifully shot - Lynch knows his craft - and well acted. The script stops making sense somewhere around the midst of the 2nd season and never really recovers. There are plenty of fascinating ideas but they're not well integrated and there's no real ending. And the views on women trouble me a lot.
Some things I now take for granted that were absent in 1991
- no Internet
- no cell phones
- no DNA tests
And we get to see David Duchovny play a transgender FBI agent.

I deny ever living in Twin Peaks and ever being in the FBI. :smallwink:
Alas, there was no Skyrim last night. I did walk with the two littles to the park, and then we watched some Hoarders- Where are they now? which was actually pretty interesting (though a bit sad). I also got most of the way through The Fifth Elephant. I'll probably finish it today.
Trying to log in to my work computer, which once again is stupid and thinks it isn't connected to the internet. :smallannoyed:

Twin Peaks is my favourite TV show and the inspiration for all my writing.

A suspiciously specific denial.

How do you even drink coffee? The few times I've tried it, it was terrible. The only good part about coffee is the smell.

Coffee makes people into superhumans. This is a true fact.
Of course, that's just an excuse. The reason is that it's super addictivedelicious

I'm with you, Zodi. My mother recently converted after 50 years not drinking the stuff...is it weird that I was disappointed in her? :smallconfused:

I can't even stand the smell.

Re: AtlanteanTroll's Additional Tirade @ Atrocious Threads Random Banter #207
You people are all daft. Coffee should be drank the Italian way, anyway.
-
Re: AtlanteanTroll's Additional Tirade @ Atrocious Threads Random Banter #207
As with tea, almost all coffee is poor quality, stale, and improperly prepared. For one thing, the beans should be no more than a few weeks since roasting, and no more than a few days since grinding. I don't blame anybody for not liking coffee if all they have ever drank is Folgers. Nor for not liking tea if all they have ever drank is Lipton.

The new Zelda game has a female Link who has magitech steampunk stuff.
Your life is forfeit.

Confronting new flatmate about some issues I'm not too happy about, especially as she's breaking rules of the lease agreement. Wish me luck, I hope this goes down maturely and that I don't panic. :smalleek:

I'm watching Twin Peaks at the moment - you would have been watching TV in the early 90's, right? And all Canadians are like that. I think LaZodiac smuggles it in emptied Wii consoles.

Be sleep deprived repeatedly, for several weeks. Then have someone offer you coffee. You'll learn to love it. :smalltongue:

It looked a bit more so than usual, I think. They did make a big dramatic thing out of revealing him/herself, too - that supports that there was something surprising we were supposed to take note of.
Personally I'm holding out hope that they took note of Clockwork Empire and Diaz is just under an agreement not to say so until more teasers are out (this hope will inevitably be proven false).

Yes, but androgynous Link was also wearing blue, as opposed to a standard issue Kokiri Green tunic.

Okay I thought there was some reference I was missing. I have never seen that show -- I was still a wee lad in the early '90s, building Lego after school and carving fortifications in the snowbanks.
But even so, yes... Canadians are all like that. The American cocaine money keeps us in toques.
