Re: [Nexus] Temples of Dalachrech I
[Hermitage - Corridors]
It is likely, given that one staircase is closer to the door than the other, that Percival, Wenomir, and Cessie meet one another in short order. Percy is rounding a corner, starting down the stone stairs, when he sees the demon hunter and his elemental companion at the bottom.
"Who are you people?" He asks, knowing they're not of the Hermitage. "What are you doing in here?"

Well it would seem the Watch members have shown their hand. One doesn't make such a mistake unless they've already succeeded, or they're not here for that at all.
In any case, Percival's first priority is protecting the high priestess. Not just because it's his job, but also because she's Percy's anchor to the material plane. He rather likes this planet.
"I can't stop you. Go. Though I must ensure the safety of my priestess," He says, backing away slowly, hands kept far from his gun. Percival doubts he could take these two in a straight fight, even with his full host of demons. "I must protect the Lady Elezibethele."

Incidentally, the standard Durant only weighs approximately 73lbs or, more precisely, 33.0kg! While that's not heavy enough to crush a person or a thick sheet of metal, as you stated, distributed over such a compacted space, it won't necessarily be all too easy to acclimatize to and by no means conducive to adequate blood circulation! And Eericka acknowledges that straightaway! Because she cheats and reads the OoC text!
Eericka will prepare to deposit the wistful pokemon in Percival's bunk when it is practically snoozing by attempting to cradle it in her arms, taking great care to ensure that she will comfortably support the massive ant when she strides to the bunk to safely place him onto it.
As a side note, she'd better get her hands on a gun or sharp-edged cleaver or something to keep in reserve in case she ever runs into a terrifying ant-eater pokemon! :smalleek:
Yup! Eericka definitely isn't above slicing up an "innocent" pokemon on sight in order to protect her own!
Durant's not the smallest specimen of his species either. Probably not as heavy as his weight in steel, but the metallic insect certainly feels like it. Still, he is carried without resistance from anything but gravity, provided Eericka can adequately lift 85 or so pounds!
In any case, there were certainly some guns and sharp-edged things in Percy's trunk, if she were to be so bold. Durant doesn't look like he would need much protection, even from such dangerous predators as Heatmor, but one can never be too sure!
Durant curls up and begins to fall asleep, his tracheal system hissing loudly in a 'snore'.

Smart. Now, where is your Lady? He knows they need to break out the slave kept in her room but even if she's not there, she still needs to be apprehended. She can't get away with her torturing of the slaves.

"As I said, we don't want to hurt anyone, just to free the slaves. So hopefully your lady can be reasoned with." The elemental tells Percival. continuing to follow Wenomir.

Eericka struggles a bit with the task of transporting Durant's weighty body to the bunk, but she'll manage since she's had experience moving heavy, injured people before. The grip and the technique vary, but bearing weight via the arms ends up feeling almost the same in every case.
Anyway, once Durant has been put to bed and begins to snore, Eericka can't help but shudder. Ugh! That sibilant hissing is sooo unnerving! It might fray her nerves entirely eventually, but she's sure she can find something else to divert her attention away from the shrill noise while Durant slumbers.
Her curiosity finally getting the better of her, Eericka crawls on over to Percival's chest and attempts to silently flip the lid open. The avid medical specialist cannot help but wonder what makes Percy tick and what he chose to do with his past. She hopes his personal chest will hold the answers she seeks, but she doesn't risk touching anything. She understands knives as tools and weapons from her internment at the slave warehouse, but guns...
She also listens intently for Percy's approach. With any luck, she'll be finished long before WATCH delays him no more.

Charynrae's confident that Dalachrech will do it for her. Charynrae's hands continue to wander, though they aren't just focussed on what's new about Sylvia. Instead they're headed towards more private territory.
[Underside Temple]
Regardless, if the drow were to make a move to consolidate their power over all of Underside and spread their religion to each and every individual, Sylvia will be ready for them. She has faith and confidence that she won't let them hurt Charynrae! Because they sound like they are not above committing honorless transgressions against anyone and everyone if it earns them dosh or garners them power in another form.
So if a storm starts a-brewing, Sylvia isn't bound to treat the enemy as an equal or even an animal by her warrior's creed.
But now's not the time for dwelling upon such grim thoughts.
Sylvia releases a high-pitched yip as she realizes what Charynrae is up to. Curtains likely follow, as that is what Charynrae seems most interested in at the moment.

Re: [Nexus] Temples of Dalachrech I

"You don't need to speak with her. Take the slaves and go," Percival asks of the Watchmen, not trusting them in the least. If they'd wanted to speak with the lady, they wouldn't have broken in. "There's no reasoning to be done." Percival's hand hovers over his gun, twitching a little. More for the fact that it'll wake half the Hermitage than actually wound his assailants if it goes off.
Percival's Quarters
Eericka will find various clues, but nothing really conclusive. Folded on top of the chest's contents is a red armband, embroidered with a swastika inside a white circle. Percival's faded hat is just beneath that. It clearly hasn't been worn in ages, and is laden with a thick coating of dust. They're both sitting on a German MP42 machine gun, scorched and tinted slightly red from its time in hell. In one corner of the box, a small pile of letters sits, missives that seem to have been folded in on themselves many times, as if they've been read over and over. Beside that there is a small silver family crest, depicting a huge snowy mountain with a winged wyrm curled around it's peak.

Re: [Nexus] Temples of Dalachrech I
Hermitage- Corridors --> Escape 17 centipedes
There's a centipede around the next corner, headed towards the disturbance. It is currently unaware of the group behind it, otherwise it would turn to attack them.
Hermitage- Corridors --> Chaos
There's six doors on either side of the corridor they are currently fleeing. Smashing occurs, but there's only the occasional drape, tapestry or torch sconce to damage besides the doors. The corridors are largely empty of decoration and furniture. Or they could have gone straight ahead, through a large, ornate door into the Altar Room. Lots to damage there.
Hermitage- Elezibethele's Room
Elezibethele is currently asleep, lying next to Mine in her bed. Though Mine's collar is attached to a lead fastened to a ring mounted in the wall above his basket, so Mine has little room to manoeuvre. Useful for Elezibethele, that; there's a sword under her side of the bed.
((Nothing is happening here yet, I'm just posting it to show everyone what's happening here. She'll be woken by a suitably loud noise or other occurrence)).
Underside Temple
The curtain is pulled.

We know she keeps her own slaves. And we need to free them as well. Lead us to her, Wenomir says, his tone making it clear disobedience is not an option.

Hermitage-Escape!
A bug caught unawares is a dead bug. With one hand Justin draws his blaster pistol, and with the other he sticks out his hand, telling the party to stop. He fires the pistol aiming for the giant centipede's head. If it hits, it's head, and a good bit of the surrounding area, will be nothing but ashes. Justin himself will be a touch surprised at just how much power the beam has.

[Hermitage - Chaos]
Harnel is a linear thinker, and would have gone for the altar room, unless DC stopped him. So much to break there.
Rather than open the doors leading into the alter room, he'll cut them into chunks, likely leaving only small pieces of wood on the hinges.

"We know she keeps one slave in her room and we intend to free her, we don't wish to hurt your mistress however unless she forces us to." The elemental adds.

Re: [Nexus] Temples of Dalachrech I
Hermitage - different corridors
If Justin is successful in killing the centipede, then Brand and Waterstrider will continue to usher the slaves on.
Also, if Cessie knew how Elizabethele treated the slaves, she probably would feel differently about whether she should be harmed.
-
Re: [Nexus] Temples of Dalachrech I
Hermitage - Escape
Waterstrider likely dislike Justin's use of the blaster. Not because of the weapon itself, but because if it's loud, it'd have just announced their location to any other centipede in the area. Or worse things if they're around.
Even so, he'll continue to try and guide the slaves out.

"I'm afraid I can't trust you," Percival says, face falling in a grimace. He draws his gun, unless stopped somehow, and points it at the Watchmen. "Don't move. You too, elemental. Or I shoot the ugly one."

Re: [Nexus] Temples of Dalachrech I
[Underside Temple]
Well, once the scene resumes after all the romance and such is long gone, Sylvia will open up with a single whispered phrase.
"Do you want to go get something to eat?"
It would stand to reason that the couple's activities as of late have stirred up Sylvia's appetite! Her stomach doesn't yet grumble, but she could do with some edible foodstuffs!
I personally hope that Charyrae doesn't feel the same as her partner does at this time. This could turn out badly for Sylvia if she hungers for blood and her fangs make a guest appearance! :smalleek:

[Percival's Quarters]
Oh dang! A gun-thingy! :smalleek: Eericka's eyelids slide down to form thin little slits of distrust, affording her eyes minimal clearance to peer out at the outside world. She cautiously does her best to reseal the trunk and slowly backs away from it.
She's never been told how guns respond to pretty much anything. They are an enigma in her eyes. A dangerous mystery that has as much of a chance at killing her as it does opening her eyes to its secrets.
She'll seat herself at the table again and quietly skim through the duller sections of her recently acquired geography text, casting a fretful glance at Percy's personal chest every so often.
Guns. *Shiver.*

Sleeping in a real bed! A real bed! Mine's mind couldn't even fathom more luxury except for sleeping in a real bed with a hawt evil priestess of the god of invertebrates! Which is what is going on right now.
This is way better than any point in his life before now. Way better. So superior that he would happily have his tongue cut out every other day without a single word of complaint if it would reserve him this type of treatment every night.

Your funeral, Wenomir thinks as soon as Percival starts drawing his gun. He mutters a command word and disappears in a flash, immediately appearing behind Percival, then immediately slashing at the back of his neck. He had his chance, now all bets are off.
-
Re: [Nexus] Temples of Dalachrech I
Hermitage - Corridors
Cessie had seen guns before and she knew just how dangerous they were. A single projectile from them could easily overpower her force shield. In this elemental form they were a great deal less dangerous however considering it lacked internal organs.
She isn't fast enough to react between Percival drawing his gun and Wenomir teleporting so she won't act until the next round.
-
Re: [Nexus] Temples of Dalachrech I
Hermitage Corridors
Percival's head is taken neatly from his shoulders, tilting backwards and falling towards Wenomir. His life is seemingly ended without a sound.
Then the skull splits open to reveal an empty black maw, rimmed with curved fangs. Without any visible method of propulsion, it throws itself at Wenomir's face, hoping to catch him while he's still on his backswing and bite off his nose.
The demon's body falls to it's knees, skin and leather beginning to boil as it prepares to birth new life.
-
Re: [Nexus] Temples of Dalachrech I
[Hermitage - Corridors]
Wenomir indeed looks like he can't recover in time to evade the flying head... but just as it closes in on his face, he suddenly ducks so quickly it looks like the ground opened under him. He puts his right foot in front of him, steps forwards, stands up while turning around and makes a wide slash at the head, hoping that his sudden dodge has thrown it off.
-
Re: [Nexus] Temples of Dalachrech I
[Hermitage - Corridors]
Seeing Pervical to be some kind of spirit, Cessie have no obligations against burning his body to ashes. She would have been shocked at the reveal if she had not seen horrible things like it many times before. Spirits in her world can be horrible creatures.
The elemental closes in on the body and attempts to grab on it's shoulders with it's claws and then unleash it's heat through it. This should burn a normal human body to ashes in just a few seconds.
-
Re: [Nexus] Temples of Dalachrech I
Hermitage - Corridors
Percival's been burnt to nothing by hellfire a thousand times over. His body is unscathed by the elemental's assault. However, his 'head' does not survive this round. Wenomir's skillful swing bisects the monster, and it falls to the floor with a thud, dripping with some sort of vile fluid.
Percy's body succeeds in shapeshifting. It simply seems to fall apart, transforming into a small horde of monsters. His outstretched arm sloughs off, growing mouths and legs. A twisted beast of black leather and gnashing teeth is born from his chest. A snarling green imp climbs from one of his shoulders, dragging a shroud of darkness behind it. His flesh and clothes seem to be one single piece of matter from which these creatures are created. In the end, it's just a mound of darkness that keeps pushing out monsters.
They continue to spawn, and those that are fully manifested immediately leap upon Wenomir. The strongest is the size of a large dog, and together they try to drag him to the ground. Their gnashing, demonic teeth can bite through chainmail quite handily. The imp leaps for his face, swiping its vicious claws. Some sort of crab attempts to clamp down on his sword hand, chopping a finger or two right off. The others try to tear at his thighs and stomach, going for vital areas.
Along with that belt of Wenomir's. The slick, leathery beast, the largest of them all, jumps up to seize its buckle. It doesn't seem to worried about retaliation - Wenomir might be too busy fighting off the others, worrying about losing a limb or two.
-
Re: [Nexus] Temples of Dalachrech I
[Hermitage - Corridors]
Wenomir goes on the defensive, stepping back and swinging his sword in rapid, wide arcs, filling the air before him with a continuous curtain of steel. The leaping imps will be subject to a rapid, lethal barrage of strikes. The monster attacking his belt will be the target of a separate, more powerful slash to get it off. However, he has to continuously give ground and unless Cessie helps him, he might be overwhelmed.
-
Re: [Nexus] Temples of Dalachrech I
Hermitage - Corridors
Full immunity to fire? Well, the elemental realms probably got equal if not more heat then hell. But unleashing such forces would probably not end well for everyone inside the building.
Instead the fire elemental completely leaves it's humanoid-Cessie form and transforms into a large mass of fire which seems made up entirely of massive human-like arms ending with claws. These wicked talons will try to grab the various creatures attacking Wenomir and then tear them apart.
