Re: Nexus of the Future I - Floating Dreams of Riches - Day 1
"Hmmmm.... Sounds good. Maybe we can get the Technician to make a nice crib for when the little abomination comes, eh? Oh, this will be the best gathering this ship has seen yet..."
He rambles a bit more about decorations, vaguely swept up by Ranna into Zar Peter's direction.
-
Re: Nexus of the Future I - Floating Dreams of Riches - Day 1
Once again everyone attacks points at Zar Peter.
By this time he is not surprised, and runs down a corridor, abandoning a fine drink.
Giving chase you all stumble across a CLONE of Zar Peter. The real Zar Peter has vanished.
At least you all are able to lynch the clone.
Summary of Events- Zar Peter was the target of a lynching - But used a Personal Clone to escape.
- Day 9 Ends
- Night 9 Begins
-
Re: Nexus of the Future I - Floating Dreams of Riches - Day 1
How many times do you have to escape death?!
God danggit!
Goes down corridor mumbles about poison or something
-
Re: Nexus of the Future I - Floating Dreams of Riches - Day 1
Does anybody have a machine like mine, we could see what it does, hopefully it makes Zar Peter's head explode!
-
Re: Nexus of the Future I - Floating Dreams of Riches - Day 1
Oooops, We think We used the wrong gender with the last clone... have to fix that in the next one....
-
Re: Nexus of the Future I - Floating Dreams of Riches - Day 1
(( Bathy used my suggestion for your avvie! Looks great.))
Ghost Curly and Ghost Pwenet float aimlessly around the ship. This really is rather monotonous isn't it?
Yeah. Want to bet they'll do the same thing tomorrow?
No. That'd be like saying we'll wake up dead tomorrow. It's a certainty.
Good point. Say, d'you think this Night'll go faster than the others?
Doubt it. Curly sighs. Another dull day tomorrow?
Probably, want to go gamble on the Ghost Game? Good odds on the Aliems today.
Aliems have good odds? Maybe. But I'm not really a gambler. Let's go.
The two ghosts pin a ghostly note to the wall and hover off to the Gambling Hall.
-
Re: Nexus of the Future I - Floating Dreams of Riches - Day 1
((Because I'm that kind of person))
The ethereal remains of Keris, the proverbial Ghost in the Shell, hover over to read the note.
-
Re: Nexus of the Future I - Floating Dreams of Riches - Day 1
It's A Sign! From the Whalemayitsblowholeforeverbeclear! The end is nigh! Prepare yourselves for the end times! As the whale nears the end of its might, not to mention epic journey through the cosmos, we must brace ourselves for the surfacing of the great mammal! Join me brothers, sisters, miscellaneous lifeforms as we enter the time of the surfacing!
Dr. Bath goes to read the note, exclaiming that It's the messiah! at the end of each sentance.
Only the true messiah would be a note on a wall!
-
Re: Nexus of the Future I - Floating Dreams of Riches - Day 1
"You're mad," Fullbladder intones as he shuffles up to the excited Whalist. "The Messiah, if he or she... or it... exists, they (or he, she, or it) wouldn't manifest as a ghostly note. Let alone to a tiny know of humanity moving at huge speeds hundreds of lightyears from anywhere where we could do anything about it."
He stops to catch his breath, stroking his chin in a decidedly villainous way.
"Besides. It's common knowledge that end times will not come in form of freaky notes. The universe will coalesce into a single, crab-shaped anomoly and then explode, creating a new universe in it's death throes. What does that note say, anyway?"
Fullbladder attempts to read over Bath's shoulder, or perhaps push him out of the way. It's hard to tell at the moment.

Re: Nexus of the Future I - Floating Dreams of Riches - Day 1

Re: Nexus of the Future I - Floating Dreams of Riches - Day 1
The long night goes on as half of the AI network crashes and needs to be shut down and the other develops a serious "Marvin the Paranoid Android" complex and can't do anything except mope around and feel sorry for itself.
Anyways, the night breaks, and reveals that everyone is still alive. During the long night some personal events occurred, and items were created.
Summary of Events- A role may have changed
- Some items were created
- Night 9 ends
- Day 10 begins
[ooc]Sorry for the long night, between CurlyKitGirl lack of internet and personal issues here this took backstage.[/ooc]

Re: Nexus of the Future I - Floating Dreams of Riches - Day 1
Radikalskippy, he is still alive? We don't appreciate that!
-
Re: Nexus of the Future I - Floating Dreams of Riches - Day 1
I am still alive, Pete, and I still think you should stop your funny little games and die already.
-
Re: Nexus of the Future I - Floating Dreams of Riches - Day 1
If at first you don't succeed - try, try again.
*point at Zar Peter*

Re: Nexus of the Future I - Floating Dreams of Riches - Day 1
Must we continue with this exercise in futility? By the Whale mayitsblowholeforeverbeclear!
We must find the source of these 'a-li-emses' power ...their engineer! I've always suspected Topher. Preacher Bath eyes Topher suspicious- and not a little crazy -ly.
((But seriously guys we're just going to lose if we keep targeting Zar Peter, unless we find the maintenance drone. And topher has been incredably quiet recently...))
-
Re: Nexus of the Future I - Floating Dreams of Riches - Day 1
"Zar Peter, die, blah blah. Just die, blah blah.." says the shard dressed man, clearly annoyed ZP is not dead.

Well, since lynching Zar Peter hasn't worked yet, I'm willing to give this a try.
Point at Topher
-
Re: Nexus of the Future I - Floating Dreams of Riches - Day 1
Yes, the preacher is correct, I am sure we... The head starts to spin without control. ... I'm dizzy now, someone please help me befor eI puke on my own water.
Meanwhile one of the tiny mechanical arms points menacingly at Topher.

Re: Nexus of the Future I - Floating Dreams of Riches - Day 1
"Eh, I'm willing to give it a try. Lynching Pete has becomed boring. Lets see what result lynching of Topher will gave us."

Re: Nexus of the Future I - Floating Dreams of Riches - Day 1
Somewhere several Auditors of Reality appear, watching events transpire on this ill-fated ship as the various passengers, crew-members and aliens conspire to lynch a Innocent Refugee.
This was not suppose to be.
Clearly these humans have no concept of order.
I think we should....
The auditor that spoke the ill-fated I turns into a puff of blue flame before fading away, only to be replaced by yet another similar auditor.
Clearly we should focus on other more pressing matters.
Indeed
Agreed
The auditors fade away after watching poor innocent Topher being beaten within an inch of his life, and then the cosmos decide on a whim to cut two inches off of life, thus Topher is, very, dead.
What is even worse for Topher as his corpse is being dragged to a airlock, is that Death is on vacation and can't be bothered with a lowly Innocent Refugee, for fly-fishing is far more interesting.
Summary of Events- Topher was lynched - He was a Innocent Refugee
- Day 10 Ends
- Night 10 Begins

Re: Nexus of the Future I - Floating Dreams of Riches - Day 1
Nooooo!!! We wanted to abduct him! He could have done so much good in our Hive! You humans are evil!

Re: Nexus of the Future I - Floating Dreams of Riches - Day 1
During the short time between night and day, a union of alien and temporal takes place. Twisting in the heat of passion and mutual lust, they whisper sweet nothings to each other, planning the takeover of this ship of destiny. All too soon though they split off to perform their tasks.
The alien queen Zar Peter winds his way through the air ducts, protected by technologies provided to him by his maintenance drone Mordokai. Pausing in front of one vent, the queen makes a decision, and bursts into the room that is on the other side of the vent.
Enjoying a peaceful slumber the Innocent Refugee known as Ranna is awaken as the vent to her room breaks open, and Zar Peter works its way into the room. Rushing with inhuman grace and speed, the Alien Queen leaps upon the screaming Ranna and implants her with its offspring. Far too quickly to be called dramatic Ranna personality is overwritten by the Aliens, turning her into a Human Convert.
”Welcome my child, for your conversion satisfies the demands of my partner that you be changed so that future events unfold differently that what he wants. Welcome to my hive.”
Meanwhile in another part of the ship, Dr. Bath – Temporal Agent Blue of Excellence slides through a door. By slides through a door we mean that he uses temporal technology to make the door less real to him, allowing him easy access throughout the ship. Approaching the sleeping figure of Huyneo he looks down and smiles.
”The dark future that the Almighty Salmon would have ushered shall not happen, for you live. I have arranged with the Alien Queen to spare you. Have a good life.”
Attaching a small device onto Huyneo the Security Guard Dr. Bath watches as he is teleported into a waiting escape pod, at which point he awakens and starts pounding at the window. Smiling he walks through the floor towards his next target.
As if working on a unknown signal, Freshmeat the Human Convert, using his position of trust among the Innocent Refugees approaches the doors leading to the quarters of Shishnarfne. Opening the door he enters and fires a weapon provided to him, stunning Shishnarfne into a deep coma.
In another part of the ship Draken the Tribble within a Head-In-A-Jar approaches Lord Fullbladder. Signing a song of seduction and suggestions, he pokes and prods the Lord Fullbladder towards the room of Fin. Entering the room the final part of the mental suggestion takes place, and Lord Fullbladder attacks Fin, who awakens right before the attack and manages to defend himself. The two grab ritual weapons, long staffs with a half-moon blade and a weight at the other end, and Draken taps into the audio systems of the room and the following music players
Fight Scene
Unlike the original source material, the two kill each other in a blood battle while the bodiless Draken chuckles evily.
Poor Huyneo has beat his hands bloodly on the window of the escape pod, and has calmed down awaiting rescue when with a flicker of light the form of Radikalskippy the Technician appears. The two look at each other in shock before the escape pod jettisons from the ship, sending it flying far away.
As for the rest of the Innocent Refugees, during the course of the night they are stunned and captured, and dragged into a central room on the ship and bound to the walls. Zar Peter enters, looking worn and tired, and looks over towards Mordokai who has just compiled a list of Innocent Refugees still alive:- Shishnarfne
- Vavaara
- Aemoh
- Doseki
- Someonenonotyou
The rest of the Aleins enter as well, and they look over the assembled prisoners. The Innocent Refugees gasp in shock as they see the following Aliens:- Zar Peter – The Alien Queen
- Mordokai – The Maintenance Drone
- Freshmeat – Human Convert
- Ranna – Human Convert
- Draken – Tribble
Looking over the prisoners, Zar Peter laughs as it’s form starts to shift.
”At least the time has come for us to end this game. At long last I can drop this guise and reveal my true inner beauty. Why did you fools have to kill my lover Banjo, for that man kept me entertained for so many nights. But now it is time to expand my hive, and you will be the first wave of my children. Rejoice!”
By this point flesh has bubbled and stretched unnaturally, and Zar Peter rips out of his skin and reveals a monstrous form that can only be described as the lovechild of the psychotic parts of H.P. Lovecraft mind and a cockroach.
”No longer bound by the weak human form, prepare to enter your new lives!”
Standing off to the side, Dr. Bath smiles at the near completion of his mission and fades away to his proper time.
In space no one can hear you scream. Unless you happen to pass The Floating Dreams of Riches
Aliens Win! Humans are Not Superior
-
Re: Nexus of the Future I - Floating Dreams of Riches - Day 1
"I can't believe this," he says after realizing what has occurred
Walks over to the communications system and pulls the mike towards him
"Passengers of the Floating Dreams of Riches, this is Huyneo, an crew member of the ship. I'm sorry, we tired the best we could. I'm sorry,"
Goes to the food stores and gets a cup of tea
Goes to the window, staring at the ship solemnly and drinking his tea
and not a drop spilled.

Re: Nexus of the Future I - Floating Dreams of Riches - Day 1
Ah. Most excelent my friends, most excelent. Now it is about time we get my bloody head back on my bloody shoulders can we?
The bodyless head floats around the corpses, looking for some suitable bits to reshape itself, given some help.

Re: Nexus of the Future I - Floating Dreams of Riches - Day 1
Alright, that's it!
People that are heads in a jar shalt be lynched twice! :smalltongue:
But yay me for getting to live the bitter end!
I rather enjoyed this game, even though I did very little. Never even got a chance to buy an item and then have it destroyed, heh.
I'd really like to know though how many items you aliens had stockpiled though... sheesh :smalleek:
-
Re: Nexus of the Future I - Floating Dreams of Riches - Day 1
Oh dear... that's not good :smalleek:
Lave Blister really did enjoy entertaining the alien queen, pity he wasn't there to watch it all come down at the end!
Great game, good story and very entertaining. I had fun, thanks to the narrators for running it!
Mordokai being the Maintenance drone was surprising, I suspected Draken...shows you how good I am at these things.
-
Re: Nexus of the Future I - Floating Dreams of Riches - Day 1
Standing in the corner, maintenance drone mutters to himself:
"No more clones, no more clones. Please, no more clones!"
Seeing the wueen looking strangely at him he notices that he is still weating his human guise.
"Oh right!"
With that, Rudy's body changesinto that similar to the one of his queen, only little smaller and a lot less majestic.
"You people killed Nexus and he was a friend of mine! Oh, I'm going to enjoy punishing you, believe me that much :smallamused: "
With that, the features of alien become even more grotesque and every of the prisoners can feel that they are up to no good. If only they would knew, if only they would knew...
-----------------------
On a game, I had fun, but overall it was broken. All the items, the temporal agents, all the roles... It was kind of fun, but really, it was kind of broken, at least in my opinion.
This game could be over much quicker if Keris decided to join with humans. He scanned me on day two, with personal scanner, but luckily decided he would side with aliens. If he'd choose to side with humans aliens would loose this very soon.
I enjoyed the narrations and it was great being maintenance drone but the amount of clones I made.... :smalleek: I'm kind of surprised you didn't find me before, especially after I tried saving Frigs on day two.
Aliens had a whole lot of luck. Draken sided with us, Bath sided with us, we infected huyneo, the android sided with us... Looking back at it, we won more by luck than by skill. This is not really a win I'm proud ofm but a win is a win

We the narrators agreed with that. As the game started there were several things that we noticed happening that we didn't intend on. Plus there was a rash of unfortunate AFK's (such as Almighty Salmon to counter-act Dr. Bath).
Also I take some of the blame for the issues. I started this shortly after a major upheaval in my life, and at times my mind was not fully into the game, for which I wish to apologize.
Overall from the narrator point of view, yes the Aliens got VERY lucky. I have never seen a game where a Alpha would get voted to be lynched day after day after day and still live, and in fact brag about it during the evening. The only way that team human could have won was if they lynched Mordokai, then Zar Peter until he was out of items.
The reason I ended the game at this point was because with the items stockpiled, and Zar Peter now free to spread his essence into others it was impossible for team Human to pull out a win.
(Sidenote - Poor Poor Banjo. All his sacrificing for nothing):Spoiler
Show
[06:13] Banjo: Hehe, all that gratuitous sex with the alien queen though.....for nothing! Makes me want to cry =P
[06:14] Pwenet: *Statement*Your tear ducts were violated by the Alien Queen and are unusable at this time.
[06:14] Pwenet: :-p
[06:15] Banjo: Oh dear gods....thats disturbing purely because its something the real Dave Lister might actually have happen to him.
I do thank you all for the positive comments. Next time a game is run things will hopefully be more stable, but then again, stability is normal, and normal gets boring :smalltongue:
-
Re: Nexus of the Future I - Floating Dreams of Riches - Day 1
The problem is, they couldn't lynch me. If they pointed at me I'd just make a clone for myself and we'd be back to square one.
Unless the narrators decided to strike me with the fist of angry god, that is, narrator
