What's so bad about it? Nontraditional, sure, but it seems like a workable idea at the very least.

There is a slight chest and a pony tail. Pretty sure it's female. Additionally, she's got Gerudo bracers on, and Gerudo are female only sans Ganondorf.

i'm sorry, but to me link still looks male, maybe if i could find a better picture of link, or if i could see the video my thoughts might change, but for now i'm under the impression that he's still just an androgynous elf
i also can't find anything about gerudo bracers, however that might have something to do with my inability to access half the internet at school :smallsigh:
there might be some reason why (s)he has gerudo bracers

We'll see. And what I mean is, on her wrists, are the same wraps Ganondorf had in Ocarina of Time.

Not quite. There's no "schools of magic" nonsense, there's no Prince Link who's an incompetent coward, there's no sudden role-reversal for no reason other than feminism. There's steampunk/magitech, but its design fits in with stuff we've seen in other games, not tacked-on for no reason. In short, it's not Skyrim with Zelda as the hero.
Spoiler: Reasons why I dislike sudden Zelda-Link role-reversal, spoilers for Skyward Sword

Link, Zelda and Ganon are part of a cycle of reincarnations dating back to the earliest days of Hyrule. It's why there's always a courageous hero Link, a wise monarch Zelda and a cruel villain Ganon to hound them for eternity. Suddenly swapping any of their roles doesn't work. Sure, a female Link or male Zelda wouldn't be much of a problem, but feminists on Tumblr always do the same thing: Make Link a simpering little powerless coward and Zelda the infallible hero who's, with little to no regard for prior lore, not to mention they seldom even acknowledge Sheik, Zelda's awesome disguise that fooled Ganon the entire time and shows Zelda doesn't need any radical changes to be awesome and skilled.
I'm not really seeing much of a "chest" on our new friend Blue Link to be honest, though they look a bit more androgynous than regular ol' Link. Male or female, I really like how they look and I like the magi-tech designs. I'm just hoping they don't go too steampunk and keep it "Zelda" enough. It looks like they've got the right idea so far.
Also the above should answer Qwerty's question.
On a lighter note, the other stuff Nintendo showed has got me hyped!

Oh, then it's not exactly noteworthy for it to be called steampunkery then. xD
Well, yeah. It's Tumblr. You can't expect there to exist reasonable people on Tumblr. That's like expecting reasoned discourse on 4chan or something(anything) other than misogyny and/or bile out of r/theredpill. :smalltongue: Also, petty escapism.

Instinctively, I would personally say that Link just looks androgynous, but I won't rule out that what I interpret as a fold on the tunic actually is a chest. As for the ponytail, I'm... actually starting to wonder if I don't know of more boys with ponytails than girls...

As someone who has never played Star Fox, should I get the 3DS game off of what was revealed at E3?

The 3DS Star Fox game is in fact a remake of the Nintendo 64 one, which just happens to be the best in the series. I would highly recommend the 3DS one, it's very faithful to the N64 version, with a few graphical improvements, a few extra bits of dialogue and if I'm not mistaken it also has the ability to save between levels, which the original lacked.
It's not a very long game, but it has good replay value due to the branching paths between levels and high-score medals to collect.
I haven't actually seen much of the E3 Star Fox reveal, only a few screenshots and my brother (who stayed up to watch it) telling me "oh by the way, new Star Fox". But I'd recommend Star Fox on the 3DS anyway.

In that case, I'll get it! I've always heard people praising the N64 Star Fox, but I've never gotten around to giving it a try. I guess that this 3DS game will be my chance.

Interesting factoid. Supposedly guys with long hair have healthier hair than girls. The logic being that a ponytail is the most guys would do with their hair, while girls it all fancy and subsequently damage it more.

Calling it now: Link (as in, whoever bears the triforce of courage in this game) has a sister and we play as that sister throughout the game, hence why they look so similar even though this apparently isn't Link.
....
Stop looking at me like that, it's not that far-fetched.
