Aya's second arrow strikes true, and a moment later the goblins charge forward. Magnus and Mirielle both score a hit on the first goblin reaching them, but fail to bring their target down before they get swarmed. The two Bues on the left follow more slowly, mentally assaulting Keeva and Mirielle, while the last Blue summons two orbs of cackling electricity, sending them forth to strike at Aya and Magnus.

Sidestepping the arrows, Aya bats at the bolt of electricity with her bow, allowing its own innate properties to deflect part of the charge. Grimacing, she attempts to finish off the blue she hit earlier.

Magnus
Magnus takes a substantial hit from the electricity, but the bugbear's one hit barely scratches him. He calls out, "Jorran! Could use you up front! Keeva, Aya, try to stay on the blues!" With that, Magnus strikes at the hobgoblin attacking Mirielle.
SpoilerReflex failed, SR penetrated, 17 damage, + a 7 damage hit from R2 - 6 DR = 13 damage and 5 in delay pool.

Mirielle's long hours of prayer, study, and contemplation has allowed her remarkable control over her thoughts, and she promptly squelches the attempt to attack her mind. She likewise catches the clumsily swung weapons on her shield before attacking the wounded goblin to her side.

Keeva moans out a confirmation, as pain brings her to a sharp halt in her focus. She brings up her crossbow, aiming at the Blue Aya marks with her arrow.
SpoilerWell! Keeva is at a resounding 8/30 HP. Since Mirielle doesn't need that healing from Magnus, any chance you could throw it Keeva's way?Nevermind. I'm bad at reading.
Reloading for move, IoP for Swift, attacking as standard against B2. B3, if Aya drops it before Keeva can fire.

One of the Blues catches an arrow in the eye, sending him sprawling to the ground. Magnus and Mirielle have no luck delivering a meaningful blow with the goblins pushing at them forcefully until Jorran charges in, wounding one of the attacker grievously. Two goblins incapacitated by their wounds fall back, but the hole is quickly filled. The various goblinkin continue their assault with blade, arrow and perhaps worst of all, mental powers.

The goblin's mental assault is clever, but Aya partitions it off into an uninterested part of her mind, and it accomplishes nothing but shaving off a fraction of her passion. Firing a pair of arrows past the sides of its barely-exposed head, she tests its willingness to dodge.

Just in case Mirielle's attack doesn't bring the thing down. I have enough AoO:s to a round.
Aya delivers two stinging hits to the apparently quite surprised Blue taking cover behind the column, and instead of preparing another psionic assault he turns his powers on himself, suffusing his body with psionic energy to give it much needed resilience after two near fatal hits. One of the retreating goblins is cut down, and Jorran's manic demeanor sends another one running as well as the bugbear who just suffered a telling blow from Magnus's hammer. The bugbear is brought low by Mirielle soon as his back turns, and while the goblin manages to get away from you, he is cut down by the bodyguard of the Blue in a demonstration to the others. It seems desertion and cowardice aren't tolerated around here.
The ranks at the frontline quickly refill again, and the assault continues, though some of the goblins lost a bit of their resolve.

All the shots go wide, but both Jorran and Mirielle strike down a goblin in melee, and the reserves standing by to refill the ranks have diminished somewhat. The Blue behind the column summons two orbs of fire and sends them flying with a flick of his wrist, striking at Aya and Jorran after swooping over the line of goblins. The other Blue was getting increasingly frustrated as all targets withstood his mental assault, and now he instead shot a ray of lightning from his outstretched finger at Keeva, pouring much of his focus into the power.

Reload, IoP on Aya, firing at A3.
[roll0]
[roll1]
Mirielle notices Keeva's distress, but she decides she can't risk casting a healing spell while she's defending against the goblins. Gritting her teeth, she pulls the wand out of her belt and taps Keeva with it. Keeva feels a cool breeze as the magic begins to slowly close her wounds.
"Get a bit back outside," she shouts over the din of the battle, "and keep using that wand of yours. It's more important that you stay alive than that you shoot a few goblins."
SpoilerDrawing wand of lesser vigor and using it on Keeva (fast healing 1 for 11 rounds). Perhaps Keeva should 5-foot step to I17 or so to prevent B1 from attacking her.

Magnus takes another swipe at the goblin that ducked his last blow, shouting at the blues, "I will die of old age before your kin wound me, and as long as I am here, they'll never get to our archers!"

It is tough taking aim with the thick melee mere feet away blocking the view, but Keeva's spell guides one of Aya's arrows through a narrow gap in the lines at an opportune moment and it strikes the Blue behind the pillar. Two more goblins fall to Jorran and Magnus as they resolutely stand their ground, not giving a foot to the goblinkin. The psions send their attending bodyguards forward, dissatified with the performance of the lesser goblins, and the Blue behind the pillar sends globes of fire at Aya and Keeva to finally put an end to the projectiles coming his way. The other Blue, however, reaches for and readies a crossbow, panting in exhaustion after he depleted his psychic potential.
