Later in the thread, he outright says he doesn't speak French, IIRC

It's sad that the Giant spends so much time dealing with the malcontents on the forum, and so little time answering the really important talking points like 'is Haley truly weak-willed' or 'FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, MALACK IS EVIL. HE'S CLEARLY EVIL, HE'S ALWAYS BEEN CLEARLY EVIL.'

The recent spate of malcontent threads are really unfortunate and, in my opinion, represent an extremely tiny minority who don't know when not to use the new thread button. I share your and the Giant's frustration with some of their ludicrous complaints. Sometimes I feel like they try to analyze OOTS as a complete story when it clearly is not over yet.
In any case, I hope that in some small way threads like Thanks for the nine days!, and this one, make up for it, since I think they represent the vast majority of OOTS readers: those who appreciate the quality of the storytelling and happily follow along on the adventure.

We can at least be content knowing it isn't getting much worse.
Anybody remember when this forum was divided equally in the debate of Belkars alignment? Or when this comic went online and a very vocal minority was of the opinion that obviously the two main bad guys entire relationship had been completely altered off camera?
Good times.

Haha, the Giant is pretty awesome.

Wow, I bet. Do you know where to find the relevant discussion thread?

It's right here.
Thankfully my initial comment was more incredulous than anything else. I got quickly talking into seeing just what was going on though.

You sound like you're talking about the #422 discussion, but your link goes to the #879 discussion. Hm. Anyway, this is the one I was looking for.

To be honest, it makes me wish we could vote to lock those kind of threads. It's not like they generate any content worth reading.

I don't know, I've found The Giant smacking them down to be pretty funny. And he's written quite a few insightful things about story composition and whatnot in the process.

Yea, but now there are too many for him to come up with funny retorts to all of them (I mean, that would fill enough jokes for one strip a day indefinitely, given how many weird threads keep popping up.)

I don't think either of those quotes really meet the criteria for index inclusion.

Re: The Index of the Giant's Comments
I was re-reading bits of the archive and remembered a particular thread connected with one comic, so I dug it up.
Tarquin refering to Amun-Zora when saying he can "bathe an ape" is not racist.
I dunno, the thread seems kinda troll-y to begin with and this should be fairly obvious to everyone (I've never seen it come up again), but I thought I'd toss it up here nonetheless, if anyone sees some worth in it.

Well, that thread was mildly amusing. At least, assuming the OP was a troll. It's more facepalmy if he wasn't, but that seems highly unlikely.

I really don't care much about alignment, but I stumbled across this old post from The Giant about what Lawful means in D&D.

Did Rich just said by mistake that V's a male?
"Miko goes nuts on V, critical hitting him with her katana and knocking him to -1 in one shot. She unleashes the rest of her full attack on Elan, knocking him to -8 too."

Re: The Index of the Giant's Comments
Rich just randomly uses him and her. It doesn't mean anything.
