In my, admittedly short, experience of ABR, non-FFF plots do not last very long.

This is my character for the SS plot.
His name is Felix and he is the ships cook. At his prime he was one of the most feared pirates in the world but now he is just a drunken old man with a few tricks up his sleeve.

Also, has the name of the ship been decided.

My character is probably more experienced but he can no longer use that experience as he's too old.

Lets abbreviate it TSS, otherwise it might be to reminiscent of World War 2 times

At first I thought you were proposing that the ship's name be "TSS (whatever)", and my mind leapt to the conclusion that you were abbreviating "Threeshades's Ship". :smallwink:
So, are all the character's going to be on the one ship? Or will there be multiple ships, like a Viking ship for Keveak, a pirate ship for the main guys, and other random ships other characters may occupy?
And do we have a definite plot yet, or even an antagonist other than the kung-fu Lord Zeppelin?

How about a Cthulhu rip-off and his dark cult?

I thought Gremlin wanted vikings?
I just want a character who grew up as a (possibly) viking slave, escaped and ended up as a pirate.

I'll post a picture soon, but here is my characters backstory:
He is a Viking exile, formerly a Jarl. Disliked for his cruel ways (he's a bit of a sadist), he was cast out. He left on his wolfship with only his giant eagle for company and all his savings, when the pirates struck. Olaf (imaginative name, huh?)took many of the pirates with him, but eventually he was overwhelmed. He was taken prisoner, the pirates thinking to holds him ransom. His eagle, a Viking's pride, was killed and used for meat. The pirates had a sense of humor, and fed their prisoners with the meat. When Olaf heard the guards laughing about it, something inside him cracked. He went berserk, and somehow blasted the wall of the ship apart with his paws. He swam to shore, and nursed himself back to health. He purchased a new wolfship, a new eagle, and left in search of one who would help him destroy the pirates.

Viking ships are called Knarr (cargo ships made for exploring) Karve (smaller Knarr) and the big ones who was their pride was called dragon ships not wolf ships... I'm not trying to sound like Mad but Wolf ships are only in one book series I've read (those in that book weren't even called vikings by the way) And what's with the eagle? (I'm not saying TSS vikings can't have them I'm just asking)

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XXV: The Future (Imperfect) is...Soon
Gremlin loves eagles, so he tries to incorporate it in his characters. Like I love cyclops and masked men (especially of the gas mask sort).

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XXV: The Future (Imperfect) is...Soon
Okay, concept art for my TSS character has arrived. Here it is:
http://a.imagehost.org/0679/Sea_Scro...cept_art_3.png
The basic concept for him was that he is a rookie who joined pirate crew for his own reasons, whatever they may be (as they are yet...secret. Spooky, ain't it? :smalltongue:). His sword is kinda heilroom and he is still quite young lad, and has much to learn, or at least that much that he does not cleave himself apart in combat :smalltongue:

Will Sclav (left) and Bursuc (right)
Story: Will Sclav began his life as a slave of a viking village in the north, his life was normal for a slave until one day he, the other slaves cutting wood and their guards was attacked by a big badger-like beast. It killed all but Will and one of the guards who dragged Will home after he (Will not th guard) was bitten by the beast. Since that nothing important happened until one year later when a drunken viking tried to kill him and Will transformed into a werebadger form that later would name itself Bursuc and killed the viking, after that he fled and miraculously succeeded in escaping on a small fishing boat and sail out into the world. When Will found land again he was at an island far souther than the viking one where he had lived all his life and was free for the first time, sadly his lack of knowledge (mainly of the law) soon got him hunted by the local police, luckily the pirate ship was docked at a nearby beach and he succeeded escaping onto it. Hearing bout the free and lawless lifestyle of the pirates he soon ended up joining them on their adventures.
Other details: His were-badger transformation can manifest when he is in great danger or when his willpower can't control Bursuc. He has a fear of large animals and one of freezing to death, both originates from slavehood traumas.
And yes, he is supposed to look like a girl :smalltongue:
Fighting style: Will fights with hand-to-hand combat and so does Bursuc though his attacks are far more fierce.
EDIT:
Comments? Critism?

Re: Avatar Battle Royale Discussion Thread XXV: The Future (Imperfect) is...Soon
Here goes:
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y19...ateCaptain.png
Captain Lewis "'Stashing" Manpower
'Stashing is one, if not the one most freared pirates sailing the world of TSS (I thought we could simply call the world Aquaroy), he commands not one ship but a fleet of four ships loaded with loot-thirsty privateers. He also is on a life long quest for the biggest hat in the world. So far he is the owner of the largest wearable hat known to man.
No time for writing more, will complete this later.

Okay, I have given in, and am making a Sea Scoundrel.
Question, do we have a helmsman or navigator?

Just scanning through the current bios, it doesn't seem like anyone is.
However, not many people have actually specified their rank, so I may be wrong.

I'm basing these Vikings after the Vikings in Ranger's Apprentice (which you may be referring to, they really were Vikings, they simply were not referred to as such). These Vikings call them wolfships (because, while dragons don't really scare cats, dogs do). Also, the Viking ships actually weren't that big, they were WAY smaller than normal ships and pretty cramped. However, they were pretty fast, explaining why they could get away from the big, slow navy. Also, obviously, Kitten Viking ships (don't call them kittens, though, that makes them pretty angry)are much smaller, to account for their absence of strength (or opposable thumbs). In fact, Viking Kittens possess all the strength of a typical kitten. Unless they berserk, in which case they become just as strong and deadly as a human Viking berserking. :smallamused:
A wolfship is operated by a magical device called a roddare. This moves the oars back and forth, and is the Viking's only means of propulsion. However, this takes a lot of energy out of a shaman (see below)to make, which is why they make the ships so small.
Viking Kittens (who call themselves Små kattedyr, or 'Småkattes')are one of the few races that have an aptitude for magic, and possess many shamans (or Sjamanisme)among their ranks (in fact, every other wolfship generally has at least one shaman on board.
The eagle? Viking kittens riding giant eagles are awesome. Duh.
EDIT: After spending some time trying to draw an eagle, I've decided that Olaf did not get a replacement eagle. I can't draw one to save my life.

Making some sort of aquatic looter type character. He gets all the loot from the sunken ships.

Olaf the Småkatte.
Another EDIT: I just noticed Nameless's character. Dude, that isn't a cat. Must we have these catgirls/catboys? They're just a medium for fanservice. Also, they'e ridiculous.

I'm throwing around an idea for a pirate who is a humanoid electric eel. :smalltongue:
