Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
That is a terrible pun and they should be ashamed :smalltongue:

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Anybody noticed how they just leave Anakin's steaming, suffering trunk standing in the pouring rain? Truly, they care!

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
It annoyed me when I saw it the first time in theatre. When someone has damaged or destroyed skin, the very first priority is to prevent dirt getting into it and limit loss of body heat. They also leave the remains of his clothes on when they put the suit on.
But then, the same medical system had a perfectly healthy woman die on the table because she lost the will to live.

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
It took me a couple seconds to get the Emperor's joke (though I got Anakin's right away).
I don't think that could have been more perfect.

I got it pretty fast due to one of my friend's groaner jokes; "Where does George Washington keep his armies?" "In his sleavies" >.<

Oh gods that list is useful. Can we get that first posted?

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Funny thing is, their worlds within comic's worlds don't just cut out movie after movie, since in Barnacles & Bilgewater world Star Wars exists.

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
My favorite part of the newest one: I was wondering why they started with part three of the movies, and they had an answer!

Most roleplaying campaigns run chronologically, so it made the most sense to start at the beginning of the story. That means starting with Part III, set in 1885. The game is a western frontier steampunk game, which will evolve over time to involve subsequent generations of the original PCs' descendants, with anachronistic technology, but without any time travel involved at all.

But I've only seen part I. T.T
And isn't it that while they're back in 1885, their characters are older than in part I and have all the experiences of parts I and II? Their argument is invalid!

The same futuristic medical system that couldn't keep her from being in pain during childbirth.

Also, while I can see the 1885 (starring Clint Eastwood) and 2015 (starring Marty McFly Jr.) plots existing more or less in a vacuum, I really don't see how they'd get much out of 1955 or 1985 without the time travel plot. Maybe Bizarro 1985, but how would that even come about?

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Well... I'm glad Palpatine is not too stupid... it's great when you have a perfect leash around your player's neck. A thief I knew gad a ring on his finger that was 'blessed' to keep him in check. But life support control works fine as well, I guess.

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Anakin is Darth Vader. Just like in the films. So will Annie be playing Vader in the OT?
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
So glad they kept the Big No.
We're what, a week away maybe from A New Hope?
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Now, get me some tea. Perfect. The smile from the part just before that line really sales this comic.
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
I think Vader will become an NPC. DMing two groups at the same time is an awful lot of work and DMing is a major theme of the comic.
The only player I think already know will be playing which character is Pete. If you're a muchkin with a min-mxed character that worked well for you, you play it again!

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
I'm not sure how I feel about the faux French accent on Tarkin. For Dooku it made sense, he was already an absurd character to begin with, but I can't envision Peter Cushing's Tarkin yelling "Sacrebleu!"
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Gah! I thought we were done with the annoying French accents.

I think it's the only accent the GM can do.
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
I woulda gone with either no accent, or a German or Russian accent.
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Don't you people see, Tarkin is Dooku's son! Well, at least that is possible.

Don't forget bad Japanese. Or maybe you should forget it. :smalltongue:
One more reason to hope that Annie becomes the GM for the original movies, I'm sure she would have a bit more range than that.

Doesn't Ben have a decent range as well, or at least he attended the same drama classes as Annie did?
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
True, but I can't see Ben as a GM, while Annie we already know has run at least one game, and Darth Vader doesn't make sense as a PC.
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Just popping in to make a prediction right now.
The Death Star will be known as the War Moon.
It will be introduced with the line, "That's no battle-station, that's a moon!"
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Damn, people, hurry up!
How many more can there be before the new game? Maybe 3 or 4?

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
You know, I'm wondering how Bail even managed to get a wife in this version. :smalltongue:
