Especially as your title character sort of needs it. How many times have his romantic interests perma-deadtimed now? :smalltongue:

That sounds... awesomely hilarious.
*puts on welcome hat* Welcome to ffrp. As is my usual response when greeting people, I can't recommend the Nexus enough. Magic is most definitely available, though keep in mind that there's oh so much more than that.
@Gulaghar: Thanks for the warm welcome. I'll be sure to check it out, assuming I can avoid getting lost in the sheer size of the place. :smallwink:
As for psiclone57's idea, which I missed earlier, I think it's great. It'll certainly lead to a lot of interesting situations.
Okay, Fabulous!!
The thread is up: [IEDS] Interdimensional Evil Dating Service
Do come check it out <3
I'll just provide everyone with a link, because awesomeness.
Oh gog I need to get in on this delirious biznasty.
I won't do a mad scientist 'cause there's a bunch already...
I'll just go the ridiculous route and make an evil daemon secretary psion lady.
Hello everyone, I'm maximus25. I'd love to start roleplaying here, the bleach universe seems nice. I'd love to start doing some role playing.
Let's see how much interest I can generate for Persona In The Playground!
I may or may not be addicted to those games. (i am going to pretend i am not)
Would be pretty damn fun, in my opinion. Would take a lot of work though.
Hi, I'm M. Mayonnaise, but you can call me M.
I've been playing roleplaying games like D&D on this very forum for awhile; though I haven't done much with that recently, I'd like to try out freeform roleplaying.
I like the fantasy/sci-fi genres, and enjoy making characters with antihero-esque tendencies. Bleach and the Nexus both look interesting to me, though I have only a vague understanding of the former; will that be a serious problem?
Wow, I had no idea there was a thriving freeform community here at GitP. Nice.
I'm Ziegander, and usually in non-D&D parts of the internet that is my nom de plume. I totally love free-form RP and I'm glad to have found a place for it here. I've only played in, I think, three FFRP threads before, but it's always been a pleasure. I'd love to be a part of just about any story really, though I have a taste for thrilling heroics as well as fantasy (in all its flavors).
I'm excited to start looking around...
Hello, I'm Shadesinger (well, it's my user name. If it was my real name my parents would be disowned. :smallamused:). Feel free to invent any other names from that.
I've always had an interest in role play, but never really had the chance outside of CRPGS.
I'm most familiar with D&D 3.5ed Forgotten Realms, but I don't know the rules,I'm dumb like thatsince I didn't really get the chance to learn them properly or use them.
I prefer high fantasy settings, but I'm open to other stuff.
But umm... any advice as to where to start?
Hey, Shadesinger! Welcome to FFRP!
If you want high-fantasy, I'd recommend the Nexus. It's a wonderful little place of insanity.
Hello.
I too recommend the Nexus. It's not solely high fantasy, there's sci-fi and all sorts of stuff mixed in as well, but of all the various settings, it's closest to a pure high fantasy FFRP.
Free Form? Kind of like an interactive story? Diceless game?
Well, I am looking for a Native American themed game, low on magic, high on character development, social interaction, and survival skills. And not being chewed on by a killer whale.
I think my profile photo kind of gives that away...now where IS that seal?
Kind of, but not quite. I'd like freeform to being more akin to collaborative fiction, with some obvious caveats and differences.
Ummm... about that. We don't have anything like that per say. Or rather, we don't have anything that is only that. The Nexus, which is one of FFRP's largest institutions, is a gigantic multi-verse crossover thing. So you could be a Native American who comes from a place where there is no magic, always looking for the whascallywabbitseal. But you'd be rubbing shoulders with possibly every other kind of fiction and setting (and characters from there) within the sphere of human storytelling.
So if bumping into a cyborg, a mummy, an ancient samurai, and a wise cracking modern street thief would not be to your taste, you might find that FFRP has little to offer to you in that regard.
So, what happened to FMAitp? It's in the second post, but isn't anywhere on the forum. I was looking forward to playing in it, but can't find it. :(
IMHO, it wasn't so much lack of interest as lack of direction which killed FMAiTP. It started well enough, having garnered a decent amount of players using the popular 'Start while everyone's eager and work out the details as we go along' philosophy. Unfortunately nobody ever really got around to the second part, resulting in an RP that was high on players but low on plot. There were no real villains to fight, no major factions to join beyond the Amestrian military and no common goals for people to work towards. As such, most characters were forced to be rogues and loners who spent their time inside their own personal subplots.
It's a shame, but that's the way things go sometimes. And who knows? Maybe one day there'll be enough interested players around to stage a revival.
Not sure how much popularity it's got but looking to start a Soul Eater In the Playground game here. No idea if it's been tried before but having looked over the other animeitp games it doesn't look like many survived save the Bleach game.
I have a thread, and some ideas. I'm hoping to gain some interest and get it off the ground
Has anyone tried an ffrp that takes place in a zombie apocalypse yet?
I ran one back on Enup some time ago.
It seemed to work out pretty well and it was a ton of work, but quite fun.
Anyone interested in an Utena-style RP?
Hello, (Possibly again) people. I have contemplated getting into Free-form-rps for a time now, and I guess now's a better chance as any. I'm most prevalent in DnD/Swords&Sorcery type games, but I have wanted to get into other types such as existing universes to anime and TV-shows.
Hello, Jaccer! Welcome to FFRP!
I'd recommend you head to the Nexus, as it contains a little bit of everything you mentioned, and a few more things. Also, it's crazy.
To say that the Nexus 'contains a little bit of everything you mentioned' is redundant (and somewhat misleading), because it contains a little bit of everything period. While Jaccer's request is open to interpretation, he seemed to be asking about FFRPs which modelled existing Anime/TV/D&D universes; As opposed to ones which simply included a few Anime/TV/D&D elements. With that in mind, perhaps a more focused RP (such as one of the AnimeITPs) might be a better fit for his request.
Well, I apologize for making a misleading statement, I hadn't meant to do that. And yeah, I hadn't known exactly what Jaccer meant, and jumped the gun a little.
