All i see is a big old pile of bandwidth exceeded.
As long as you know it ;)
Which would be?Quote:
(Uh oh...looks like Ego hasn't been doing her job :smallwink:)
The fact that you don't have a tv is interesting in itself, but more so adding that you have internet and is used to watch things. Tv sucks anyway, I think I could live without it. My ex gf didn't have one, but then she came at my place and would become addicted to it. And someone needs to slap me and ask me WTF I'm remembering my ex for... :( :( :(Quote:
Yeah, my dad is a soccer FANATIC. He comes home from work every day and watches MLS. Which is why we don't have a TV in the first place, because Mom didn't want him to spend all his time watching sports...hooray for internet.
Definitely. I never saw the funny part of watching other people playing sports. I mean, yes, the entertainment, the spectacular feats of skill. But meh.Quote:
Just realized that two of my brothers are out playing soccer as we speak. :smallamused: Better than watching I guess, huh?
Oh, so you were a soccer girl. You know, it's funny for us* to see that in the US is mostly something young girls play. That's cute. It also gave birth to expressions like "soccer mom" whose reference I still don't totally grasp.Quote:
(I was a grass-gatherer throughout my short career in the sport. I was probably the least agressive player on record. I had fun but I cringe remembering how awful I must have been...:smalltongue:)
But here it's a manly sport, and it can be quite rough. That is, girls usually don't play it.
Is it here where I say I kinda suck at it? Meh, I've never been a sports person. But whenever I play I make a nimble, versatile defender ^^
*Argentina, rest of the soccer-playing world, aka "the world" :p
Ah well. I have others.Quote:

Tacticle error, m'dear. http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k9...Lee/thlee4.gifQuote:

(That one shows up, right?)
Moon, this is what we're getting: http://i129.photobucket.com/albums/p...screenshot.jpg
Like I said, it show up just fine on my computer. Untill I refresh it, 'nyway. Very weird.
I knew some Turkish folk once. Don't know what happened to them, they just fell off the radar one day.
Cool people, though. You'd be surprised what you have in common with people with which you have nothing in common.
FdL, soccer mom. On a more personal bias, they're the absolute scariest things to encounter on the roads, and that's when they're not late getting their kids to practice.
Thanks, Von. I'm off to research.
But for what you say I guess it's generally used as a pejorative term. I don't know why I think of the opposite.
*cries over page stretchage*
No problem. The spontaneity comes from me watching tv and just then seeing the remark.
Hey, we got a well-timed slap routine. We can go on tour now. People base their showbiz careers on less (hmmm, but most have boobies)
Well, we seem to be lacking in that area, but I'm sure we can make up for it with raw talent and general likability (That is an odd looking word.)
I just realized I had never changed my location and gender back from Mistaken Identity week. Time to get on that.
And at the right time too :p Welcome back to your usual gender.
Yeah we do have oodles of likeability ^^ That's like a charisma bonus, it can't go wrong.
I read a bit about soccer moms and yes, I hate them. There's that sort of people around here too. It's a sociocultural thing I guess.
Regardless of being moms or dads, I hate when people drive their kids to school or pick them up, and just park their cars in long queues of confusion and madness of blinking car lights. Which makes driving past a school at certain times an infuriating experience. The streets of my city aren't very wide, you know.
But coming back to my soccer mom confusion, it's probably that I relate it to a physical sterotype of an older woman that I like...Don't pay too much attention to my fantasies, it leads upto no good :p
Coming froma high school soccer player in the U.S., male soccer sucks over here. We get about a tenth of the fans that the girls do, if that. We also have to play on a field that is lopsided and filled with holes. We had someone mess up an ankle last year. Of course, the girls grass never grows above a few centimeters, and its always perfectly level. And, even though I like to play soccer a lot, professional, to me at least, stinks so bad that I never watch it. Now, the World Cup, on the other hand, is good stuff. My aunt loves foreign soccer so much that she got a special TV thingy where she can watch pretty much all of the European leagues. That's just my opinion, though.
I don't really like soccer, but if I had to watch it, I'd prefer to watch women's soccer than men's soccer.
World Cup is an event, yeah. It's fun, except that it's gets tiresome. See, I hate overhype, when people don't seem to be able to talk of anything else, and my natural reaction is to avoid the subject entirely. So last WC I didn't care a bit really. I was in denial. See what people does to me?
*Walks in with a big tank*
Did somebody order *Looks down* Vanilla Scenting with extra minty freshness? 'Cause I got a tank of vanilla flavoring that should do the trick.
*Sprays FDL with Vanilla Flavoring*
Yay, vanilla scent! Only...*sniff* lose the "minty" freshness because I despise mint :s
It came close, but maybe I'm too picky, I know :p
The place I take my car to be washed uses this vanilla scent. I love it. It's one of those happy smells, I associate it with the pride and joy of a clean car ^^
Lose minty freshness? Okay. *Dials a knob on the side of the tank* Have some vanilla scent! *Sprays FDL with vanilla flavoring*
And how cool is it to have a vanilla scented car. I must find one of those. They must have magical powers.
Yeah, it IS cool. Besides it's original. :smallcool: Also I think chicks dig it (see earlier reference).
I don't like much those other alternatives to smelling. Like pine, lemon, much less apple or other fruity scents. Yuck. I'd sell the car if I got one of those. Or rub it all over with garlic to counter it, dunno.
Edit: It must be said that generally I'm a little "nose deaf", that is, I don't get much of my sense of smell. It's weird, because it comes and goes in intensity. It's not like I'm "blind" of it.
Maybe that's why I like some special smells. In my childhood we used to go to a market where they had fresh fish, and also at portuary towns, I've loved the smell of fresh fish since. And it's weird because people hate it.
I love the smell of a stall that sells fresh fish and seafood. It's great, though I certainly wouldn't scent my car like that (chicks don't dig it. aww, who am I kidding? it's been ages since a female human being climbed into my car :p)
I stuck out soccer for three years, from the age of 5 to 8, but I never really enjoyed it. My brother has been playing since he was about 3 (we started the same year) and is struggling with his first year as a high school player, but he'll do fine. Soccer's cool but I just can't play it. Maybe cuz I'm not a runner.
Me, I'm sticking to tennis. :smalltongue: That's in the family, all the way back to my great-great grandfather, and even though I'm not a particularly athletic person, I've been playing three quarters of my life and that counts for something.
Yeah...I have two parents who are natural athletes and two of my three brothers are the same. The third brother gets by on sheer stubbornness and I guess I could too if I cared, but I'm so supercompetitive that I'd just rather avoid competition at all, if that makes sense. :smalltongue:
*Stands up and trips over FDL*
Well i actually was hitting Fdl... going for the airplane reference there. BUt when life gives you grenades make nazi soup.
Airplane is a good movie, but I don't get the reference. What scene is that from.?
*Bends down to apologize to FdL and gets hit by North standing back up.*
