I've already tried that. she just gives me dirty looks and says I dont need to be spending so much time on the internet. :smallannoyed: its not like i have anything better to do.

That's basically my parents' attitude towards my excessive use of laptop. As long as I don't start to fail, they're ok with it.

I really should finish my English homework... I need to have it finished for tomorrow. Aaah, the joys of the Random Banter thread!

These, Boxer shorts, as you call them, are in fact what I was referring to.
You really should get a new pair.

Re: Perenelle's Pleasantly Playful and Passionately Peculiar Random Banter #133
I'm the exact opposite. I do spend too much time on the computer, and my grades fall because of it. Having someone restrict my time would probably be better for my grades. However, if that were the default and I made a bet that if I fail anything I have restricted computer time, my grades would still fall. There's a lot of room for a mediocre student to fall before they actually fail.

There is no "short" in my boxers, thank you. Nor are my swim trunks "shorts". That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.
But really, shorts are uncomfy, and no one wants to see my scar-covered lower legs. >.<

I'll disagree with both of those. Shorts are much more comfortable in certain weathers. And there are people.
-
Re: Perenelle's Pleasantly Playful and Passionately Peculiar Random Banter #133
i for one hate wearing shorts, as i never feel right in them, my legs feel bare and unprotected:smallconfused:

Re: Perenelle's Pleasantly Playful and Passionately Peculiar Random Banter #133
I'm a jeans guy normally, but shorts are handy in the summer. Especially when travelling. Because ANYWHERE is warmer than here in the summer. Well, not really true, but you know what I mean.

Summers here are regularly in the 100/40 degree + range. I have burned myself on metal left in the sun for half a minute, it's so hot. I still wear my jeans. >.>
And what people? You wanna see my scars? 'cause I have TONS of them. >.<

Yeah. Summer here is usually around 30, on an especially hot day.
And sure, show us your scars!

You should try wearing shorts. Maybe with sunscreen, if you have to be out too long. I don't know.
Eh, why not?

Nah. I don't feel hot in jeans. *shrugs*
And in order to do that, I'd have to shave my head. And be naked. Sorry. =P
*hugs*...maybe if you come visit sometime. :smallwink:

Or just point out where the scar is. You can kinda feel it, actually.

I have bumpy scar on the back of my head, too, from a snowboarding accident when I was 6 or 7.

Speaking of hot weather and shorts, it was really warm here today. Like, in the upper 60's warm. Why is that strange?
It's mid-November in central New York.
We're not supposed to be this warm in mid-November Central New York.
Eh...but I didn't even go outside today. :/ Too much work to get done. Tomorrow, if it's that nice out though, you better believe I'm going out.
Edit: My head is just sorta naturally bumpy...D:

Wear your scars with pride! Who knows? Maybe it'll inspire you getting a scar worth impressing women at parties with. :smallwink:

You know how the weather is in certain places. In Milwaukee, for example, you might get one nice day followed by eight days or was it weeks of snow.
The same might apply for New York, only without as much snow.

I finished my English! 3000 words, 9 pages double spaced.

So, here's what I just emailed my writing professor.

Oh dearest professor, I fear I bring you bad news
I mean no offence, and I know it’ll leave my grade slightly bruised
You see, for the past four days I’ve been disgustingly sick
And take my word, it’s not that I’m lovesick
The computer screen makes my head want to explode
I have a scratchy throat, and there’s a funny feeling in my nose
I’m writing this now with my screen dimmed all the way down
And cotton in my ears to block out my little brothers’ sounds
Right now I just don’t think I can finish that essay
I even opened up the document, but my brain wouldn’t cooperate
I was writing about linguistics, my mother’s favourite field
And I think I managed to not go off on some weird spiel
I loved the subject, I had lots more that I wanted to say
And I may do so for myself, just on a later date
But I’ve spent all of today either asleep or reading Poe
It’s the 200th anniversary of his birth this year, you know
And MWA* put out this great anthology
I snatched a week ago when I was at the library
Maybe it’s just my slight fever, but I don’t find him scary this time around
Even though at twelve, he made me jump at every little sound...
...Where was I?
Oh, yes.
I’m sorry for the lack of essay this time around
Please don’t judge me too harshly, (though I know you’re contractually bound)
But hey, here’s something you won’t have to deal with tonight
And that’s my comma abuse problem, which I hear is quite a fright
So with that thought, good professor, I leave you to rest
And hope I don’t puke in class tomorrow, since that would make a mess
*Mystery Writers of America
I'm lucky though, he drops our lowest 2 grades, so it's not that big a deal. But this prof's got a good sense of humour, I hope it'll make him laugh.:smalltongue:

Bah. I still have to write my modern lit response paper (not a real essay, just a short unpolished piece of writing discussing basically whatever we want). I'm talking about the executed Irish Republicans in Yeats' Easter 1916 being "reborn" as they are memorialized.
I don't want to finish it. :smallsigh:

Humor is always good for lightening a mood, but I am not sure how your teacher would grade it. Maybe a CD or D from a following the assignment point.

It's awesome, but I couldn't get into the rhyme scheme, if there was one beyond "Rhyme every now and then."

I agree—it's an awesome poem-ish thing, but the rhyme scheme is a little funky/nonexistent. :smalltongue:
The part where "lovesick" appears to be rhymed with "sick" especially bothered me.

Eh, I wasn't sending it in for a grade, more as an explanation of why I wasn't turning in an essay.

Thanks. Dunno if there really was a rhyme scheme, it just happened to be whatever came out. I wrote it in fewer than ten minutes, and I'm not exactly at my best here. It wasn't meant to be taken as actual 'literature', so don't analyse it too much, mm-kay? :smalltongue:
