Re: Mysteries of the Stick
Will the MitD turn to the side of good?
What will O-chul and Hinjo find on their attempt to locate Kraagor's gate?
How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop?
Why do kids love Cinnamon Toast Crunch?

You're not quite right here: its, "A riddle wrapped in a mystery stuffed into a conundrum inside an enigma cloaked in darkness locked in a box."

Re: Mysteries of the Stick
How has no one mentioned the whole Fyron's son? You know, that thing which is basically a retcon by this point?

Let's find out. A-one, a-two, a-three--CRUNCH!
Three.

Yeah, that's just what I was going to say. Most of the OP's questions I have no idea how they will come to pass but I'm quite sure we'll find out and I'm looking forward to it. But the whole Fyron's son thing bothers me for some reason, because at the moment it just don't make no sense at all.

Er, that doesn't "stand to reason" at all. Nothing whatsoever has been said or seen that suggests looking at the Snarl has that sort of effect on people, and we've seen people in-panel looking directly at it. Besides, it doesn't seem all that likely that Shojo could know that the Snarl had already destroyed the first world, yet doesn't know that people are incapable of perceiving it correctly.

Considering Fyron's son has been mention both before and after the seen in SoD which doesn't show him, it is not a retcon, it is a mystery.
If the scene which came later had not mentioned the son you might have a point, but it did :)

That's kind of a trick question, 'cause it's O-Chul and Lien who are trying to find Kraagor's Gate.
A couple that haven't been mentioned:
What are the 9 (or more) sides to the conflict?
Regardless of V's gender, what gender is V's mate?

Re: Mysteries of the Stick
Thanks for all the stuff. Just to make clear this thread is not to answer questions (that's for the rest of the forum) but to put the questions unanswered on here. I cannot have asked them all and I'd like others to help. The thread is to help people remember the comic's convulted storylines and threads and at the end of the comic, this thread will be a primary resource to find questions which Mr B still has not answered by then (thanks for posting on my thread Giant). Also does any one have any ideas on how to sort the OP it is getting very long.

Its a freakin' God-killing abomination made from the very snarls in the threads of reality itself! That like, even worse than Cthulhu, how can witnessing something like that NOT leave you as a broken husk. Beside, we have never seen anyone looking at the Snarl, we've seen images of people looking at the Snarl described by people who haven't actually seen the Snarl themselves. :smalltongue:
Perhaps it doesn't even have a real shape, as it is a being of pure chaos, and thus is perceived differently by each person.

Only if you accept the lovecraftian notion that such things drive poeple insane. I, for example, feel more sane and calm when I look in my room and it's in its natural state (as opposed to clean and orderly).

And yet, Shojo's story is about the Snarl, not about a planet that kills people.
I too think you're letting the works of HP Lovecraft influence your thinking a little too much here.

Re: Mysteries of the Stick
Most of these things here are more like unresolved plots/subplots rather than mysteries. I say, we make a poll to vote on a list of The 7 Mysteries of OOTS.
Of course, the difference between a mystery and a plot element is that the plot won't require the former one to be resolved

Re: Mysteries of the Stick
What is Varsuuvius’ gender?
We will never know. There really is no need to speculate, as the Giant has made it clear there will never be any leads to the truth behind this mystery.
What is MitD?
I think there's an entire thread devoted to this very subject.
When will Xykon and Redcloak betray each other? Who will make the first move?
How do we know they will? This seems more like a speculation than a mystery to me.
What broke up the Scribble so much?
The guilt. When Kraagor died defending the Scribblers, it weighed on their consience heavily.
How did Kraagor die?
He was killed by a reaching tendril from the Snarl.
Who was the eye trailing Mr Scruffy from?
Almost certainly Zz,dtri. But let's just wait for it to be confirmed.
When will Roy learn the Mageslayer trick?
Is that the one Horace taught him? He already learned that.
What happened when Roy and Durkon visited the Oracle the first time?
They asked where Xykon was. The Oracle replied, "In his throne room." Unhappy with this answer, they dangled him out the window until they were permitted a second question. They subsequently remembered him as a beautiful woman whom Roy seduced.
How will Durkon’s return be posthomonous?
Ummm... it will be posthumous because he will be dead.
Will Belkar kill Varsuuvius?
Unlikely.
Will Xykon come within 1000 feet of Girad’s gate?
Yes, for sure. That's what the Oracle said.
Where does Xykon go when he comes back with new tricks?
What does this mean?
-
Re: Mysteries of the Stick
Who's Kraggnor?
Is he related to Kraggor, the scribblers' barbarian?
-
Re: Mysteries of the Stick
Where is Xykon's phylactery?
Why is the Oracle on the "Bad Guys" side of the OotS poster?
Is Tsukiko's ritual what we think is? Will she end up helping Xykon control a gate?

Don't you hate it when you know the answer for something, but the Phantasm hasn't been around so you can't look in his siggie?

They're both relatives of Kraagor, the dwarven member of the Order of the Scribble.

Don't worry, I try to always keep that signature on standby.
The answer is here. It's just to make the poster look nice and balanced.

Re: Mysteries of the Stick
You can use the "Members List" to look up a particular person. But yeah, I figured the answer was something like that, I just didn't think The Giant would actually bother giving an answer to something so trivial.

This is not a plot point, and we will never know. The Giant had that much decided on long enough ago that it's in the badly-outdated FAQ on this very site.

This is poorly worded, at best. We know what broke up the Order of the Scribble - quarreling over how best to defend the Gates. I think the question you wanted ask would be: "What caused the intense distrust between Girard and Soon?"

This isn't really a plot point, given what little relevance it could possibly have on the story has long since passed, with us getting enough information on it that there are no real lingering questions of any importance surrounding it.

Better way to phrase this: "What was the Oracle alluding to when he started to bring up an excuse about Belkar killing Vaarsuvius?" (Also, you misspelled V's name.)

Same misspelling of "Kraagor" as before.

I seriously doubt that's a plot point so much as a way to foreshadow new factions we didn't know about as of that strip entering the conflict (such as the IFCC) and give the forums something to speculate wildly about for pretty much the rest of the strip's life.

First, this is not a plot point. Second, given's V's sex will never be revealed and part of the reason for her spouse's ambiguity is to preserve V's (and generally run with that motif for the character, expanding it to her sexuality since their kids are adopted), I'd say we can be almost certain that this too will never be revealed.
