I'll let Custom Werewolf II answer this:

I think I'll stick to that idea, only announcing the roles as you get lynched/killed.

So yeah, blind.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just to keep everyone updated....
I've chosen the final roles to be used. I will send everyone a PM tomorrow sometime.
Also, something to keep in mind when playing:
Don't assume that because Player A is dead, that it's alright to chat with him about the game. There may be an ability to raise the dead, or some such. So be careful.
Okay, so if anyone hasn't received a Role PM, and is currently in this game, let me know via PM.
The game will officially begin Monday. :smallsmile:
Re: Custom Werewolf III: In Need of Trees
Day 0
Everyone in the caravan was tired. It'd been a two week trek to get here, their new home. It had been promised to be a paradise. The brochures had shown a lush forest surrounding a beautiful silvery-blue lake, with pre-made log houses that most people would sell their first-born for.
It hadn't been too bad at first. A simple walk through a lovely forest had been quite nice, and a very promising beginning. They had camped outdoors under a brilliantly shining moon three nights straight. The next two days rained, making everyone miserable, until their pixie leader, Lexington reminded them of the new homes they would be living in, with peace and quiet. A clean lake owned by no one else but the twenty one of them. What's a few nights of misery to gain a lifetime of pleasure? she said happily, and everyone agreed.
After the second day, the rained stopped, as did the forest. It suddenly opened up to a grassy prairie. Which wasn't so bad, and they could see the green of their home forest up ahead. It was only a few days away, to be sure. They could see it, and it brought joy to their hearts.
What they didn't see, was that the land was steadily descending downwards, stretching the "few more days" into another week. The prairie gave way to a sparse, almost desert, terrain. They stopped for a couple days near a river, to bath and boil water to refill their canteens. They could see that the next part of their trip was going to make everything before seem easy.
What had been a easy descent would become a sharp ascent to get there. We're almost there, I can feel it! Lexington said shining with positive energy. Some grumbled among themselves that she had it easy, after-all, she was flying. One traveler was even heard to say something about tearing her wings off. But who said it, either no one knew, or they didn't feel like admitting they heard it.
One positive thing was that they entered the new forest after the second day, which gave them shade from the sun. Another two days after that, and they reached the peak of the hill, or mountain, or whatever it was. Nobody really cared by that point, they were just happy it flattened out again, the worse was surely over.
But they were wrong. As they trudged along, the ground began to feel softer, almost spongy. Then Zjoot screamed out loud. Everyone turned to see what was wrong, only to find a giant wolf on top of the man, trying to tear his face off. Zjoot had his hands on the beasts jaws, holding them away from his neck.
Everyone rushed to his aid, hitting the wolf with everything they had, trying to save their future (they hoped) neighbor. It wasn't much of a fight, and the wolf lost in the end. But not without its consequences. Zjoot had been bitten. After wrapping his wound, Zjoot insisted on walking on his own. But that only lasted for the rest of that day. The next day, he had a fever, and they made a make-shift stretcher to carry him on, as well as spears, in case any other wolves decided they were food.
The last day had been the worse. The soft spongy ground turned to mosquito infested wetlands, with snakes writhing in the trees and the water. There was no dry place to set up camp, and so they pushed on in the darkness, hoping they would find someplace, anyplace dry so they could rest. There perseverance paid off... kinda.
What they found wasn't Xanadu, or any other word for paradise. It was nothing short of a hell on Earth. There was a lake. But it wasn't the crystal clean lake they'd been promised. And the cabins? They existed, but they were rotting, doors fallen off the hinges, and one was very obviously over-run with a very large spider nest. Even Lexington was in despair. She landed on the ground, and began weeping. But that all stopped immediately when a large furry foot STOMPED on her, crushing her tears and her body.
And just to be sure, Zjoot stomped again, and again. At first the rest of them were too shocked to say or do anything. Then one person started, "Zjoot, what the he...." He didn't finish his sentence, as Zjoot turned and glared at him, then turned his glare on everyone. They were red with hatred, and his body began to shift and change, fur sprouting out everywhere, until at last he was the very image of a werewolf.
He ground his foot further on the spot where the pixie had been, challenging them to attack. And a rage came over them all, and the fight was on. Strangely enough, it was all one-sided. The Grand Wolfking Zjoot just laughed his evil growling laugh as they stabbed him, beat him, even tried to set fire to him. But finally he just flung them all away. You cannot hurt me, until all who follow my path are dead. Then he howled once, and fled into the forest.
When they finally got back to their feet, most were mystified by his last words. What followers? At the place where Lexington had been stomped, there was just a small puddle of blue blood in the footprint.
Lexington the Pixie was pulverized. You can't even bury her remains. Lex-Kat is the Narrator. :smallamused:
Grand Wolfking Zjoot can't be killed until all other wolves are dealt with. Yes, I'll let you know when the last Wolf has been dealt with.
UsOurselves&We, I suppose.
Re: Custom Werewolf III: In Need of Trees
Szilard is suddenly really scared, so to relax he does some yoga and assumes tree position--hopefully blending in with the surrounding foliage. His branches point in a random direction at Matthias 2270.
Oh, yep, you're right. I'm just too used to having a day first. Carry on. :smallredface:
Re: Custom Werewolf III: In Need of Trees
Understandable. I usually start my games with the day. But, with everyone having a role, I wanted to give everyone a chance to do something, before they are slaughtered by randomness. :smallsmile:
Oops. I better do my super secret night action now.
Re: Custom Werewolf III: In Need of Trees
Night 0
The night seemed to last forever. Everyone huddled in their tents, fearful of every noise they heard in the darkness.
But though you'd think people would be quiet, trying to hear something approaching, there seemed to be a lot of activity during the night.
Fortunately, no one was killed. But there was a loud buzzing noise at one point, almost as if there were interference in the sky.
Re: Custom Werewolf III: In Need of Trees
Let's get this show on the road. My d20 says Gray Mage.
-
Re: Custom Werewolf III: In Need of Trees
Odd, mine says Eternis is to blame...
__________________________________________________ __
The tall man with pale blonde hair and thin wire-framed glasses thought back to the appearance of that great wolf. This was bad news: it seemed that no one knew what was going on or whom to trust. Perhaps it would be best if he left town. Still, there's just something about this place...
-
Re: Custom Werewolf III: In Need of Trees
Perturbing. Personally my polyhedron points at Penguinator.
Perhaps my post's pattern pertains to a power. Possible but privately, it's probably pointless.
-
Re: Custom Werewolf III: In Need of Trees
Still doing yoga, Szilard's branches sway to Usourselves&we.
-
Re: Custom Werewolf III: In Need of Trees
pretty sure the Phantom is disliked by dice.
-
Re: Custom Werewolf III: In Need of Trees
I'd say that pressure is a viable tactic for this game. So, Eternis, would you be willing to share the target of your action for night 0?
Re: Custom Werewolf III: In Need of Trees
Gray Mage was the first to vote last night. Suspicious...
@/\: You know you could just have typed 'color="red" /color' instead of 'Imaginaaaaaaaation'.:smallsigh:
But that would not show his insanity.
Insanity such as this:
usourselves&we
ooooOOOooo, what spooky powers do we have OOOOOooooooOOOOooo.
Well, just to make things different, I chose to roll random wagon instead of random person >.<
Re: Custom Werewolf III: In Need of Trees
I'm going to go with Superdark for now, for being too lazy to color his vote, for pointing at me, and for claiming responsibility for a Joker role.
Oh wow, 24 hour days? :smalleek:
Uh, Reinholdt for being 17th.
Interested in seeing what Zjoot's going to be doing during the days.
Diego Havoc, for the revenge vote.:smallcool:
With a few notes of his piano, the Phantom points at Diego Havoc.
